All right, I don't usually write comments but to let you know: it's an excellent video - interesting and funny comments, truly professional cinematography, great shots, zooms, dynamic takes wherever it's needed and takes well synchronized with what you're discussing, all super-well put together and on top of that - great shots on the car interlaced with beautiful shots on the nature and landscapes!. It's all there, excellent work.

Excellent review, Sarah. I drove the Kia Stinger version of this car and really liked it. That TT V-6 really rips! I'm really enjoying your scenic road tests; showcasing the beauty of southern Arizona. In addition, the sound track makes for a totally enjoyable experience. Keep up the great work. Love your channel.

Nailed it! 10/10 review. Perfect balance of detail (without doing a Doug), interior shots, tech spec and a beautiful destination for a drive. It would be a perfect location for drone footage. I'm amazed that you shoot it all by yourself. Now we just need to get you some hiking boots. 😊

Great video... and she's a beauty... and so is the G70... I love mine but annoyed by the noisy oil pump on cold starts and hard downshift when coming to stop when cold...
I love Tucson... mount Lemon is a relaxing drive.... excellent road for G70 on sports mode. My rotors have been turn twice by dealer before 30k miles... I will replace rotors to vented rotors soon... also agree exhaust is toooo quite

    Per your suggested comments:
Yes, there should be a hill climb competition. I was able to flog my F150 on the Mt. Lemmon road last week when I was there on a work assignment and have photos from the same spots in the vid. Will drive it again when I come back on week of June 3 for another work assignment.
Other roads that would work for hill climb would be Kit Peak highway, the Globe-Young road, and Coronado Trail north of Morenci.
Overall review score: 9 🌮 with a side of refried beans 💩and guacamole with a bonus 🌮 for helping the “snek” cross the road (at least it was not a Mohave Green) and another bonus 🌮 for just being honest and your usual cheerful, funny self.

I enjoyed this review because I have a 2015 Genesis 5.0. It is my every day car. I had a 2012 and 2013 Genesis coupe 2.0T both where a blast to drive. The 2013 2.0 turbo was making 273hrp, all stock for a inline 4 I was very impressed. Now in the Gen 5.0 the power is killer 420hrp. The car is smooth when it needs to be but can hold great grip in the corners. I enjoy you work! Please keep it up.

Tucson here. The Corvette Club of Tucson used to close down Mt. Lemmon Hwy in the 1960s, and do a Pike's Peak type run once a year. Not sure why it was stopped. That was a few years before me.

    • @franktyred9195
      @franktyred9195 5 лет назад

My guess would be that there are very few people who live up Pike's Peak where the race is run. But there are many folks who now live up Mount Lemon and depend on it as a main ingress/egress and I would be willing to bet that that was not the case in the 1960's

FYI for the uninitiated; the "plastic thing" on the front grille is the front-mounted radar for the driver assist features, such as adaptive cruise control and parking assist. They tried to disguise it a bit with the grill pattern, which is somewhat of an improvement over the previous generation which was just a plain black plastic piece that looked really out of place.

I just bought this car with the Sport Package. I'm glad you liked it. It's a driver's car. I think the piece on the grill is a sensor for the adaptive cruise control. I looked at the Stinger also. The Genesis comes with a lot of dealer perks that Kia doesn't offer. Same performance, luxury car benefits.

Sarah, the G70 RWD is a 4.5 sec car in 0-60. That's the official number obtained by the reviewer in Korea a year ago. That was done on a nearly full tank of gas in hot weather. Also you got the heavier package... Prestige has extra options with that heavy large sunroof. Advanced package comes with fewer options and no sunroof, and is about 600 lbs lighter than the fully optioned Stinger GT2 AWD. Nice video though and I like the soundtrack it's pretty cool..

Yes and yes about the Tucson question.. Anything car related would be sick to come to AZ.. Like how FD does battles in the streets of Long Beach, would be cool to see something like that here or like the Grand Prix.. Hill climb would be sick of course.. Anything really.. I looked at the genesis g70 and the kia stinger and ended up getting the stinger in the gt1 trim. Even though the price was similar 49.5k for the gt1 the discounts were much better on the stinger. I got 4500 cash back from kia and 4500 off from the dealer so for 40K plus it looks better and I do my own maintenance so I don't care about the luxury (genesis) dealer experience.
I envy your living in AZ they don't sell RWD stingers or g70's in MA. On the other hand I don't have to worry about rattle snakes, scorpions or tarantulas. Oh yeah and no killer bees and no fire ants. Maybe I'm okay in MA :)

The problem with that car is German. Not many car people aspired for a Hyundai/Kia/Genesis even if the car is just as good. Agreed about the grill and exhaust. The other issue with Genesis is that every review has _for the price_
I definitely respect the fact they did not go the Acura way with their luxury line.

Quick question, what was it about this g70 that dropped it 2.5 beans? Compared to the 2020 Acura TLX A spec you reviewed that got 3.5 penguins and goes 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, and the 2021 Lexus IS350F review that got 4 penguins and goes 0-60 in 5.6 seconds compared to this g70 which is marketed as 0-60 in 4.7 seconds, just wondering specifically dropped the bean count, thanks!!

Stinger's are being used here in Queensland, Australia as police highway patrol cars - both marked and unmarked (as both Ford & GMH no longer produce an appropriate high performance 4 door sedan here). Obviously being pursuit type vehicles they are modified over standard. To what extent? Don't know. Am I keen to find out? Yes! How? When these things are over 12 months old they generally find their way into government fleet auctions - great place to get a potential bargain new project car!

I stopped on a busy five lane road with my hazards on to let several ducks cross the road like they were schoolchildren. The world would be better off if there were more people like you around.

From AZ and love the drive up Mt Lemmon! Great place to escape the heat and those views!❤️.

I live in the Tucson area, Oro Valley to be exact, and yes, a sanctioned hill climb up Mount Lemmon would be very cool. Kind of surprised you didn't stop at the Cookie Cabin while you were up there, however! :-)

Really enjoyable review. I wonder why Hyundai don't sell Genesis cars here in UK - great pity!

I think we need a bean scoreboard to keep track of your ratings on different cars you've reviewed... either a page on your website, or show it in your videos after announcing the score for the car of the day...

As an Automotive Journalist my self it’s difficult to make up my mind on Genesis ,it’s good looking , love the interior but what about resale value and reliability? Excellent post , your beauty is a bit distracting when I’m trying to focus on the car. Lol.

wow , You really do not need to justify the way you critique a review, you hit all the points. Just one possible view you kind of left out, if any vehicle with a Lexicon Sound system that deserves some notice. Its probable better than Audi's B&O.
Anyway great review , you hit on the point the most people care about. I agree some review read like instruction. I'm new to your videos keep it up.

Nice review. Those seats look very Bentley-esque with the quilting. Sarah see if you can get your hands on a Alfa for review.
