  • This is just a quick solo ride I went on while the grizzly is still in it's break in period. Nothing too fancy as I am trying to keep it somewhat clean until the first service.

    I also switched from a Can am 650 to a Yamaha Grizzly 7 months ago. The biggest reason for switching was the amount of time spent doing general overall maintenance and still continuing to replace bearings and bushings etc. I don’t miss the extra power or the wet right foot from bad footwell design but the Grizzly has its own flaws as well. I like both the power steering and engine braking better on the Grizzly and they did a great job on the cvt. I have 4200 km on it now, the same amount of km that I’d be replacing parts on the can am. Grizzly still feels brand new.

      I agree with all of this. The only thing I miss from the Can-am is the sound of the v-twin.

    I had the 21 outlander 850xt and it was a nice bike for sure but all that power got tiring out on the trails and found it to feel so heavy compared to the grizzly.. the grizzly feels so much lighter and is much more nimble . The turning radius is awesome.. I owned a lot of quads and I honestly believe the grizzly is the closest to perfect that there is for trail driving .. drag race of course can am .. I think the power on the grizzly is just about perfect and is actually more fun then a outlander that wants to rip the bars out of your hands just trying to do a donut lol

      I totally agree. Technical terrain is a breeze on the Grizz.

      Big bore singles are louder than twins, but this one, while indeed louder, isn't by much. It may be how the camera picks up the sound as I notice it too on playback.

    I'm currently trying to decide betweem a Outlander 650 and the Grizzly 700. I'm coming from an old 2000 Grizzly 600 and it's starting to show its age with electrical gremlins. Big thing for me is smooth and fast. How does the suspension compare between the two? What about the VTwin vs single bore with smooth power delivery? Have you missed the power from the 650 at all or is the griz plenty powerful?

    • @chasintrail
      @chasintrail  Год назад +1

      The suspension is very similar. The outlander may feel slightly smoother though mainly due to it being heavier. The outlander has more power on paper, but they feel similar. The Grizz has much smoother engagement, that's all due to clutching more so than single or twin. You really have to learn to feather the outlander throttle. I don't really miss the power in most cases. It took everything I had to get the front wheels off the ground in the outty. I can get the grizz up with ease. If they were side by side and I could choose either, I would pick the grizz 90% of the time. Size of the rider makes a big difference in that choice. I am 5'9" 155 and I feel like I can control the grizz better. Don't forget the brakes, grizz wins there with ease.

    • @chasintrail
      @chasintrail  2 года назад +2

      I honestly have no complaints, and that's pretty huge for me. The power delivery is different, not as instant as a twin cylinder, but it's still there. So much easier to clean than the Can-am. Love the power steering, it's just right.

    Your handlebars seem crooked? It looks like the point right when your going straight. My 2019 came like that, I had the dealer adjust it. My 2021 came straight. Only complaint about any of my Yamaha. But they just adjusted the rods and was fine.

    • @chasintrail
      @chasintrail  Год назад

      Good eye! Yeah I noticed that it would turn sharper one way and it didn’t seem quite straight. I had to adjust my tie rods a half turn on both sides. It’s straight as an arrow now.

    is the power a big difference compared to the outlander 650?

    • @chasintrail
      @chasintrail  Год назад

      The power is different on paper but in actual riding, it’s very close. I don’t feel like I am lacking any power. It just feels like it’s delivered differently considering it’s a big single vs smaller twins.

    • @Killzaze

      @Chasin' Trail i came from a outlander 650 and im considering a outlander 700 and i know its a single so im a little scared of the power

    • @chasintrail
      @chasintrail  Год назад

      @@Killzaze It’s hard to say at this point how the can am 700 will feel. If it’s anything like the Grizzly, I don’t think you will notice much difference. You’d notice more difference in a drag race than real world riding.

Even worse when it's included on vehicles of a lower overall quality, and ya spend more time tinkerin' in the garage than ya do on the trails. Lol. Should balance itself out lmao!! Sucks, too, cuz I want to root for Paula'riss, they sponsor many trails on the Ride The Wilds NH ATV trail system up-state, and I like the Sportsman name, concept and the seating position etc. But geez, you're right, it's like..... too much goin on but not enough hardcore R&D and it feels like they aren't taking it seriously enough.
