Lyrics
You know this boogie is for real
I used to put my faith in worship
But then my chance to get to heaven slipped
I used to worry about the future
But then I threw my caution to the wind
I had no reason to be care free, no, no, no
Until I took a trip to the other side of town, yeah, yeah, yeah
You know I heard that boogie rhythm, hey
I had no choice but to get down, down, down, down
Dance, nothing left for me to do but dance
Off these bad times I'm going through just dance
Got canned heat in my heels tonight, baby
I feel the thunder, see the lightning
I know this anger's heaven sent
So I've got to hang out all my hang-ups
Because of the boogie I feel so hell bent, hey, hey
It's just an instant gut reaction, that I got
I know I never ever felt like this before
I don't know what to do but then that's nothing new
Stuck between hell and high water I need a cure to make it through
Hey dancing nothing left for me to do but dance
Off these bad times I'm going through just dance
Hey, got canned heat in my heels tonight, baby
You know, know, know I'm gonna dance, yeah
Off the nasty things that people say
Dance yeah, but I'm gonna make it anyway
Dance yeah, got canned heat up my heels tonight baby
You know I've got canned heat up my heels
You know this boogie is for real
Only the wind can blow the answer
And she cries to me when I'm asleep
She says you know that you can go much faster
I know that peoples' talk can be so cheap, hey
I got this voodoo child in veined on me
I'm gonna use my power to ascend
You know I got these running heels to use
Sometimes there's no way I lose, I was born to run and built to last
You've never seen my feet 'cause they move so fast
Dance yeah, hey nothing left for me to do but dance
Off these bad times I'm going through just dance, hey
Got canned heat in my heels tonight, baby
Hey, I've got to dance, yeah
Off the nasty things that people say
Dance yeah, but I'm gonna make it anyway
Dance yeah, got canned heat up my heels tonight, baby
You know this boogie is for real
Got so much canned heat in my heels, yeah
Gonna dance, gonna dance my blues away tonight
You know I'm gonna dance my blues away
You know this boogie is for real
Got so much canned heat in my heels, yeah
Gonna dance, gonna dance my blues away tonight
Dance, come on got canned heat in my heels tonight
Dance, canned heat in my heels tonight
Dance, canned heat in my heels tonight, baby
Hey, got so much
Dance, hey, DJ let the music play
(Let the music play)
I'm gonna let this party live
(I wanna let this party live)
Hey, DJ throw my cares away
(Let the music play)
I'm gonna let this party live
(I wanna let this party live)
Hey, DJ let the music play
(I'm gonna let this party live)
I'm gonna let this party live
(I'm gonna let this party live)
Hey, DJ throw my cares away
(Party live, I'm gonna let this party live, hey)
I'm gonna let this party live
Canned heat in my heels tonight
Dance, you know this boogie is for real
Dance, got so much canned heat in my heels
Dance, gonna dance, gonna dance my blues away tonight
Dance, you know, you know this boogie this boogie is for real
Dance, got so much canned heat, canned heat in my heels
Dance, you know I'm gonna dance my blues away tonight
Dance, you know I'm gonna dance my blues away tonight
i feel like all of jamiroquai bassists are pretty underrated. these guys are beasts.
only the real ones know ;)
Bass-sik
why do people say underrated, whos underratred them?
See this VDO if you want to see the musicians ruclips.net/video/teVRHYkScvY/видео.html
@@davidwhite2141 can’t tell if you’re saying the bass is sick or “basic” lol
Yeah glad someone is still playing a funky bass that u can still hear, as a matter of fact thats some of the best bass ive ever heard, dont argue, im an expert on the bottom of the groove! lol!
literally how stupid can you be
@@edchoblo can't deny that this bass player is really tight though and this groove isn't the easiest to pull off consistently
Closes your eyes and let the bass guide you
Jay breathed life back into disco.
RIP Rio.. Until we party party again together to Jamiroquai! 😎
Jay Kay is like Mick Jagger and James Brown on STEROIDS
The Backing singers though ❤❤❤, they remind me of Backing singers for Simply Red, so brilliant.
The wet stage is allowing him to move around like in virtual insanity video.
This is the most awesome version of the song. 10 minutes is even too short 😂
Waching him again playing bass, makes me realize that I still have crush on him *lol*
Sono un musicista professionista ,ho fatto il turnista con artisti di calibro, edvero li a sentire jay kay.Musicisti di un calibro molto alto,in pratica dei veri ta l enti
at 07:34 trance experience began🤪
That's one funky white boy
Jay is obviously a genius, but the band doesnt get enough credit, a highly skilled group of musicians!
linux maximus it’s not the hihat it’s the drum some dudes are born with that groove and he has it just makes you wanna dance
YES !!!
Very good observation I’d like to add a wise fellow once recounted the notion that anyone is a genius but if you take a fish out of water I know that’s not 100 correct but you may have heard of the expression I’m just enjoying the music atm so don’t want to come off to search for the correct quote! 🤣😂 💃
Matt Johnson (the keyboardist) has his own channel where he gives tutorials, review synths, and and answers general fan questions. It’s a dope channel.
@@franksbtka1624 yeah it’s great!
If that bass doesnt make your foot tap you have no soul
true
and if you tap your foot too much you'll have no sole.
made me want to learn how to play bass!
Shout out to the 209
Indeed.
I miss Nick Fyfe in their lineup. And i miss Stu even more.
Paul is a great bass player, but in my book he pales in comparison to Nick and Stu.
I wasn't in Verona, but i was lucky enough to get a chance to see this lineup live as well. Unforgetable!
the bass is so dope. love it
This sound si Sony....fine ...i Love it
The bass made up for the rain in Verona!
he got style, very groovy !
That bassline can cure cancer.
Can cure the coronavirus
Lafonda knows
It can even bring back the dead 🦅🦅
@@tulapia5342 I just checked and wow - three years passed since I made that comment. And how crazy three years…
Nick Fyffe the bassist, a Monster!
Now THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is how you play the Bass!
Robert Outram Nick fyffe is a god
Hardly any footage of the guitarist or Nick Fyffe on bass, just their hands occasionally. What's wrong with the people behind the cameras ? There's no music without the musicians.
Please check out Jaco Pastorius.
@@missjones580 annoying shitty over editing happens a lot in live recordings
Here from Napoleon Dynamite
Badass band! The bassist is a monster!
true ^^
Derrick McKenzie (Drums) and Nick Fyffe (Bass) are just a nasty rhythm section! Monsters!!
Drummer killing it too
Love the way they NEVER play a song the same way twice. Every performance is improvised and FRESH! Not to mention those killer moves! Jay, you the man! You and your groovy tones should be a LOT more widely celebrated! From Davey, bass fella in Ireland. ;)
I kinda hate that
Well said Davey, from a fellow Irishman! This performance was fire 🇮🇪💪
There are at least 3 original bass lines for this sing that I know of......and I am Jon Snow.
Coucou cricri j'ai pas mal8 compris
@@nordimejia5790 why? That’s the beauty of live, real bands - the music is living, and morphing always. If you want the same thing all the time just buy a great stereo and play the studio cut all the time. Phish is one of the biggest grossing bands of all time and they do the same - no song is ever the same twice.
I was there ... WHAT A FUCKING PERFORMANCE !!! WHAT A GIG !!!
they never disappoint... cant wait for the new tour this summer :D
HaleftHaut ur not wrong there
Beato te ❤
🔥🔥🔥
i‘m jealous
give it up for the bass player!
Nick Fyfe
@@qstore4814 and before it was STUART ZENDER, much more better! WOAW!
@@patrickperrouin3479 No, Fyffe is better than Zender
@@Reus11993-h i prefer Zender for the album but Fyffe is definitely better in live performance.
The bass, the drummer, the whole band is great...
But that STAGE THOUGH!!!
This man is one of kind and one that I would stand in the rain for.
Even decades later he sounds exactly the same. record or live you'd never know the difference.
‘She’?
This was recorded 2/3 years after this aong was released lol...
Just discovered this music today. Absolutely amazing. I'm in tears of joy.
You have decades of amazing music to listen to my friend!
Even better than the studio version
I AGREE!
Some bands excel on live and Jamiroquai is one of the top of the category imo
Everything is perfect about this performance, you don't get this attitude every day, I mean, Jay, the band, the back-up - it's a world class, period. BUT -what I would like to do is to praise the lead of the post-prod and all the guys involved in this, it's nothing short of a supreme video-edditing, just an outstanding work. Thank you, guys, it's a top-notch job, a pure professionalism and dedication
If i had a time machine i'd choose Verona to be in 2002 on this day ! "Sorry about the rain, it's not me, it's god" - Jay Kay. But i think rain makes this performance perfect !
'Bad Girls' in Verona was Jay's finest performance of his career!
I was in Verona's Arena that evening... The best performance live I ever seen... Fantastic, wonderful TOP of the TOPS
I’d go to Verona in 2002 and stay till Glastonbury 2004 to see Moloko live. Would for sure visit 100s of other great lives in a while.
But my dream came true when in 2019 at concert in yerevan HE passed by me in the concert hall and smiled and kind of winked his eye so that I could just exclaim "wow". The happiest moment ☺️🎉💫
Every rain drop turned into steam 😁
Jamiroquai would have been extremely popular in the 70's (maybe more).
Funk is da way
Andrea Sollai yes ma buddah
The backing singers are incredible
really love his voice, but, I will always think of Heder doing his Napoleon dance when I hear this, lol
Vote for pedro!
Gimme ur tots!
@@franksbtka1624
No way! I haven't eaten all day!
That BASS though!?!
The entire band are excellent at their "parts" as it takes them ALL being at their best to co-create the whole of their sound BUT Jason is at the front leading at every step. SO GOOD!!!!
Everyone's talking about the bass, but the back-up singers are killing it from 5:04 to 6:33.
Yea the backing vocals in this performance are really nice
I've got them starting at 5:33 of the video.
I'm absolutely mesmerized by the music and their vocal harmony.
No one can listen to this without moving their body
15 years ago this video made me play BASS even until now
Jay those vocals on point always
one of the best shows i have ever seen.....
For me, the best performance
I never knew who this guy was until April 17th 2018 when he performed at the BGC in San Francisco. I was working my first day with my event staffing employer at that show and after being fortunate enough to hear *and feel* every kick of the bass drum, every note and transition between notes coming from that bass guitar, i went home that night thinking "I know i was just a kid when this band broke up but how did I not know who he was until tonight?" This guy, this band, is just as good in 2018 as they were back whenever this Verona venue happened.
Thank u for sharing...
this verona gig was 2002, but they never broke up
Friend they have been doing this since 1993, so you got 30 years of Jamiroquai to listen 😏
I swear, when I first heard this on Napoleon Dynamite, I sincerely thought it was a disco 🕺 classic that came out between 1976 and 1979 that somehow escaped my attention (I was born in the Summer of '67). I couldn't place who sang it! Was it Melba Moore? Rose Royce? Gloria Gaynor? Vicki Sue Robinson? I was embarrassed at how much more recent it was, but that's just a testament to what an excellent job Jamiroquai did at capturing the sound of my 'tween years! The guitar, the keyboards, the violins, the bass, the drums....everything is so in-the-pocket and spot-on that I still get Pop Rocks flashbacks whenever I hear it!!!😵😵💫🥴
He was always a genius, also lucky to have the luxury of becoming a musician no matter if he would make money out of it. A perfect stars alignment. Unfortunately, he spent many of his years losing and finding himself…
No phones, no photos, no selfies, just an happy people dancing with a gorgeus bass line... Miss This Times...
Leonardo Pellissetti you act like that music doesnt exist. You're just pretentious.
because the rain
Totally, people went to dance and be in the moment!
@@ShiningTaiga they mean more those ppl are totally in the moment rather than trying to capture it
It's like the rain supercharged him. what a bloody fantastic performance - and that band is bloody amazing. I hope they tour again - I'd stand in the rain for a performance like this!
One of the best live performances I've ever seen in my life!! Great band!! 👏👏👏👏❤️🇦🇷
that drum entry at 8:03 is one of the simplest yet best ways to enter a beat I heared in the last 40 years
This song is my best favorite song!!
quien vea tan solo este trakc de este concierto de jamiro se lo recomiendo ampliamente y mas en bluray no se arrepentiran es una joya de principo a fin gracias
Toda la razón!!!

Lo tengo en DVD!!!👌🏼💗💗
Groovy and lovely 5:34
So saad watching this video, people it's so happy, so energic, erverybody it's on fire! And at the moment, Italy is suffering much pain because of Coronavirius Italy. :(
Lucia thanks for this message!!!! I'm from the North of Italy. The virus took time to become less and less powerful, fortunately! Most of the old poor people dying in Bergamo and Lombardy were " killed".....probably because of a wrong theraphy! We're so helpless! Hope The Truth will prevail!
But Jk is the theraphy! His Music! Saw him perform in Mantova many
years ago! Genius! Blessings from Italy❣
The bassman is awesome
Love love loooove this version of Canned Heat! Just...perfect!
high q music & sound live... not very often seen
The way Derrick pushes without rushing and letting Nick marvelously "overplay"... they could go on for 30 minutes and it would be cooler and cooler
i love Jason Kay one of the best performers with smoothest voice out there
Nick Fyffe on that bass! Beautiful.
Verona Italia thank you so much for coming man sorry it rained it’s not me it’s god
Lovin’ the drum and BASS in this mix...the tone of that bass is phenomenal! What a band.
Good lord that bass has me in a trance!!! Shit my feet start moving soon as I hear this track!!! Woooooo love it!!
this...... my friends...is definiton of FUNKY!
Pas funky "FUNK" J'insiste sur la différence funky FUNK💚🍃💋💋
He's a cool guy.I don't know how many times I watched this great movie.
love the lead back-up singer.
Just rediscovered Jamiroquai, what was I thinking?
the recording quality is just insane so glad its released
when they talk about people 'born for it' jay kay is one. that man is smooth. those slides and audience interactions. smooth af. the adlibs and stuff too omg.
great bass playing! nice
65 people don’t think the boogie is for real
That bassline in the verse with the synth bass on top is some of the illest shit I've ever heard
21 people that have no funk
So obvious when musicians are good or not :D No autotune here maaan .... DANCE ba-ba dum da dum di dum di ta tum tum ...
Another Unbelievable and almost in humanly good performance by Jay Kay!
that concert was EPIC
If I ever get married, this will be the "first dance" tune for me and my wife :).
Lots of Pedro supporters out there 😎.
What a amazing band. I love it.
Confirmed. The cameraman cannot hear the bass.
I think he's just a jealous guitarist lol
@@Facu_Roldan jajaja!!!
Every smile looks genuine
The drummer deserves some love for that hi hat work. Sheesh 🔥🔥🔥
Best bass player Jamiroquai ever had? Nick Fyffe. Hands down. Super compressed and tight as a mouse's eardrum.
Fuck, this is so good. I had this album when I was 11 and didn't realize how genius this song was. Now I need to go back and listen too all of their music.
people who were at this concert, are still talking about it.
Alguém ouvindo esta obra prima em 2022???Que banda fantástica este dvd live in Verona é perfeito do começo ao fim.Uma aula de comportamento e domínio de palco, público e adversidades nota 10.
Jay K is the David Lee Roth of disco funk fusion. He’s such a peacock.
This is so dope I don't know what else to say!
that bass!! goosebumps
Just how funky can you get???
try james brown 😀
Amo Jamiroquai pero tambien amo a los Italianos!! Que bella gente bailan hasta los de las tribunas...

One of the best concerts ever maybe because of the rain
I agree. It's my favorite concert of all of them. And yes, I think the rain made them outdo themselves.
Man that bass is on fire !!!
just love the way it ends too fucking hot
Bass !!!
He has such a beautiful voice, everything is so perfect ugh
Also, gotta love Jays moves and THE ATTITUDE!
