Whenever I’m in a bad mood I watch this and suddenly everything’s ok 🤣
The BBC sound engineers just don't get any recognition. Perfect balance and cover of the available sound spectrum, not mention the voice/orchestra to mic distance. Nothing is missed. Thanks Guys.
Anna Jane Casey is not only a fantastic performer she is one of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met in this business. I absolutely adore her and she deserves SO much more recognition than she gets. A true star.
Incredible that she's able to hold that note at the end after dancing like that. Amazing breath control.
.
i've watched this 50 times at least and will keep watching it. It's the first time i've seen Anna Jane. She's pretty darn wonderful. Wish i tap danced.
I have watched this so many times, especially when feeling a bit blue, & it never fails to cheer me. It is as appropriate in today's world more than ever. Anna Jane & dancers are the best at what they do! 👍💪😊❤
💖`Amen `And `Amen 💖
Me too

I have it on my walking Ipod and a big grin breaks out every time it comes up!
I have watched this clip countless times. They don't know how good they are. I always have a smile on my face at the end.
Exactly! Me To.
Oh, I think they do!
Me too!
I've watched it over 20 times and each is like the first. Fantastic
Zer
This is the best tap number ever. I watch it over and over again and each time I throughly get caught up in the energy, fantastic choreography and fabulous performance!
Apart from when one of them nearly falls over.
Well, it's a good one, but not the best. ruclips.net/video/CCpCSHJPT4w/видео.html
The way the performers react to the audience enjoyment is priceless.
SHE is absolutely awesome! More of Anna Jane Casey, please! The most perfect female "Broadway Show" voice I have ever heard.
She is amazingly skilled, I'm constantly impressed by her. 😁
Enjoy this while you can, folks. Broadway will never see the likes of Jerry Herman again.
I've watch this SO many times. What I find interesting is how the choir really adds depth to the number. You have to listen for it. and you can feel how they make the climax a very powerful one. IMO
This beautiful show is like being in the time machine .... go back to the golden era of broadway...
Every once in a while I have to watch this piece. John Wilson at his best. The biggest smile he gets when he sees the audience cheering and clapping is self pride. Great orchestra and amazing vocals and lets not forget the amazing tap dancers. Slightly mean but the best part is when the old couple get a fright when the dancers are coming towards them, they missed out on a great encore. Brilliant piece
Come on guys - John Wilson for a Knighthood 2024/5!
I had a minor stroke about 4 years ago. I was in the hospital for recovery, and they sent me over to the neurology department for treatment. The neurologist was asking me how I was doing and if I had any questions. I looked at him straight faced and asked him if I was ever going to be able to tap dance again? He looked at me, kind of puzzled and said, "Well..." His voice trailing off. Then I said, "That's great. I wasn't able to tap dance before." He smiled and chuckeled.
Ha! A classic (tho' I always heard it, 'Will I be able to play the violin?") In that version one also adds, "Gee, you're a great doctor! I could never play/dance before". Good for you!
play this at my funeral - it never gets old!!
So totally joyous. And it breaks my heart that the 2020 Proms will be so affected by this damned virus. They should bring John Wilson and his orchestra back for 2021 when we can have one hell of a Proms party!!
...and they did!
Impossible to be sad when watching this!
Encore! Thank you so much Mr Wilson and company. God bless Jerry Herman
I have watched this so many times. John wilson orchestra is fabulous. A. L.R. April 27th
A truly feel good moment, wonderfully produced by an army of immensely talented and consummate professionals......cannot be bettered !
John Wilson should be recognised in the honours list and Anna-Jane Casey will one day be a national treasure.
Every time I watch this I pray that those two people will stay in their seats!!
perhaps there should have been an usher at the bottom of the stairs - could have dressed them in a tux so they blended in with the performers coming down the stairs - if this was an encore and not listed in the program anyone could have got caught like this couple did - though it beats me why you have to go up to get out - great number
This has been such a tough year for so many but you can't help but feel uplifted watching this, medicine for the soul! Absolutely wonderful!
This is it..... Every morning I wathc this number to start my awful pandemic day and its help me a lots... knowing there is amuzement and things that still makes us amused and drop the jaw ... peace out! cheers!
que belleza y que talento!!!!!!!
Whenever I need a pick me up in Life, I watch this. Brilliant orchestral playing. Superb chorus singing, extraordinary choreography and dancing and Anna Jane Casey is astonishing. Bravi Tutti. A lifetime high to witness this. 🎶💕🎶💕👏👏👏👏
Showbiz wise, it just doesn't get much glitzier, catchier or better than this.
Jolly good show! She was singing while dancing and never came off as winded. Man! Those lungs of hers be doing great things! The other dancers, musicians and others involved did an exceptional job as well. Loved it!
Fabulous
I just watch it over and again and grin! Such a happy and well-done showstopper! 🤗 I sent it to my tap-dancing friend and she hurried it out to her entire list of tap-dancing cronies. They all loved it, a pack of American housewife tap enthusiasts! Bravo, gents and ladies of London! You make us smile broadly! ❤
"Make it look easy." "Never let them see you sweat." Like others, I've pulled this up repeatedly through the years and I love that, at the end of the dance, the dancers behind her are visibly trying to control their breathing and Anna-Jane looks like she's only getting started.
All these months later, and I'm still watching this clip. It defines the word "Happy". Genius John Wilson. Knight the man!
I second that motion. Wilson is well deserving of all the accolades he receives.
@@rr7firefly And give credit, too, to the composer, Jerry Herman, for a fabulous song!
@@Lgevirtz Absolutely. I watched the Jerry Herman tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl and was blown away with Leslie Uggams (If He Walked Into my Life) and Michael Feinstein (I Won't Send Flowers). The man was a genius when it came to writing great songs.
God, is she talented... and a whole level higher than the tap dancing chorus. Look at the elegance and effortlessness of her arms when she's tapping. Notice that bit of choreo at 3:11 and following. They do the same move three times but it's one beat later each time. I'd call that inventive.
Let's hear it for Anna-Jane Casey. Fantastic talent.
What a magnificent, joyous performance by everyone on that stage.
John Wilson, the Jazz-Diamond of Great Britain. Absolutely spectacular.
.
Never fails to help me out of a rut
It's so wonderful to see true entertainment like this again. Sammy Davis Jr. and all the "Old Gang" from back in the day provided us with TALENT. Not like the Vile Trash that most today call entertainment.
Bravo. Old School rules again.
An extraordinary performance that never gets old. I have watched this countless times and it always gives me a lift. The synchronization, energy, and attention to detail of the hundred-odd dancers, musicians, and singers on stage are mesmerizing. It's like a sublimely tasty milkshake I never want to get to the bottom of.
I was in the gallery up at the top of the RAH that night and can't put into words just how amazing the evening was. This was the final number and wasn't in the program so, although anyone who had ever seen The John Wilson Orchestra before would have known something special was coming as an encore, it clearly was a bit of a surprise for the old couple leaving their seats and being caught out on the stairs :-) Anna Jane Casey is amazing as were the dancers who joined her and the truly fantastic John Wilson Orchestra. The smiles of those taking part in the performance are merely a reflection of those on the face of every member of the audience that night. Thanks for posting the video
EXCELLENT !
Hi John Are you
Before I die.....on my bucket list - Anna Jane is sensational too. Gotta love precision and passion combined!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂
have watched this a bazillion times
John Wilson and his Orchestra always astound me; his renditions are breathtaking, it has you just on the edge of you seat wanting to hear more.
FANTASTIC ! What a routine, and a marvellous show stopping number from the pen of wonderful Jerry Herman. What a shout of joy and acclamation from the audience at the end, the orchestra are all beaming and applauding and even John Wilson momentarily looks overwhelmed by the reaction. John Wilson is an institution in his own right what he is doing for show and film music and bringing it right back centre stage of musical enjoyment - I can see someone becoming Sir John quite soon, not since the days of Sir Malcolm Sargent have we had a conductor with mass audience appeal. And modest with it !!! This clip is a tonic for the darkest day.
I am not a fan of musicals or tapdance but this clip ALWAYS makes me feel so good! Thanks John Wilson and your fabulous orchestra!
This may be my favorite tap number of all time, and I have put several hundred together.!!
Just wonderful to watch, it is so uplifting, five minutes of shere joy! Wish i could have been there!
Everyone seems to be enjoying the moment: Anna Jane Casey's delightfully energetic and talented performance, the spirited chorus and orchestra and the wildly enthusiastic audience (including me). Thank y'all.
SIMPLY FANTASTIC !!!!! EVERY TIME I SEE THIS SUPREME WONDER, I CAN'T HOLD MY TEARS !!!!!!! JOHN WILSON AND HIS ORCHESTRA AND SINGERS AND DANCERS ARE BLESSED BY HEAVENLY MUSES !!!!!!!
Anna Jane Casey holds the eye and ear with her charismatic presence and hoofing skill! Top stuff!
RIP Maestro Herman... The lights on Broadway will never be the same.
This is one of the highlights of a most wonderful evening of entertainment by EVERYBODY who took part! I smile and weep, and, I smile! The emotion is truly astounding! I have recorded it, and, bought the DVD, and will play it in full to my dying day! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
So how long before we get a knighthood for John W?
She is a true star. Amazing.
I watch to cheer myself up. One day we can see such events live.
What a joyous, exuberant celebration of stark silliness. Jerry Herman is a genius
I absolutely love this sheer genius
It’s magnificent…
If you're suffering from Covid-19 gloom, this is the perfect antidote. Works every time.
I have watched this so many times I've lost count! LOVE IT!
Same thing for me ! This version is absolutely fantastic.
I need a glass of vodka and some tap shoes. Don't ya just love Broadway musicals.
Yes I do!
I certainly do love them
eddiecat p
with Covid19 this brings a huge grin to my face....great good feel music
Can't give this enough likes!!
Oh yes, that sends the blues well away. Love it.
Uplifting. Such a fine performance. I play this often daily. Great cast! ❤ 😊
Wow, Like others I can’t stop watching this feel good performance. And that kick by Anna-Jane Casey. There’s been some great Prom’s performances, but that one takes some beating 😁
John Wilson Orchestra with Anna-Jane Casey...what a treat!!! Spectacular performance, as brilliant as it is the conductor!
This is pure Perfection That Tapping! To be able to tap and sing like that I know I played this Character a long time ago Fantastic Choreography BRAVO baci x
What an astounding cast. They can do it all. It is a very impressive encore. Tyler Lord Hamilton
What a superb performance by Anna Jane Casey a true star
Graham Nelson
This number is the perfect tonic to cope with these challenging, difficult times - it is prescribed daily viewing for anybody who needs a pick-me-up. Arguably, the most exhilarating encore EVER at the Proms, the sense of enjoyment from all the participants is truly infectious; notice how many of the orchestra were applauding the wonderful Anna Jane Casey and the dancers at the end. The elderly couple who left early don't know what they missed!!
I think this brilliant, I wait for Fiday nights to watch this , the dancers are great aswell as the singer and conductor cant wait till this years prom
The word 'camp' really doesn't do it justice!! Fantabulosa!!
Amazing orchestra and dancers and all wondrous .Those folk will never buy an ice cream again!
In fact they were leaving because the main show was ended - before this came on as an unadvertised extra item. I was there and it was a terrific atmosphere.
Wow Anna-Jane and the dancers. I admire all dancers greatly. Did you notice how brilliant the tap was as they only had a very small apron of stage on which to perform
Pure joy
Glorious! I never tire of watching this clip
AJC just owns the Royal Albert Hall from beginning to end!
FABULOUS ANNA JANE CASEY
more! more! more!!.......the best.... no wonder its sooo hard to get tickets...
Mi Dios Todos sublimes. Inolvidables.
Simply Wonderful.................... Talent + practice + practice + talent makes it looks easy. And, let's not forget John Wilson and his talented Orchestra. Regarding the Tap Dancer that momentarily stumbled............also a PRO......she recovered nicely and did not miss a beat after........ What an event!! How lucky were those in attendance!!!!
I
Rick Stromberg
I cannot get enough of this! Woop! Woop!
I keep coming back to this, marvellous, wish I was there.
Brilliant! Watched this numerous times! I absolutely love it!!!!!
I love you John Wilson!
All of this is fantastic, wonderful music. I have watched it many times... and thrilled.
This literally gives me life!!!!
That was fantastic! Tapping at its finest.
Just amazing!
How can you not love this ? Fabulous !
Brilliant 👍👍👍👍👍
Anna Jane Casey.....just a great talent.
Brilliant...brava
Me too. Utter bliss and what a gift was that couple heading for the exit. B
That was fantastic, it made me feel like I was sitting right in the front row and they could have fallen in my lap. The tapping was sensational and Anna-Jane, was out of this world! The UK audience along with their European cousins, are the most appreciative audience ever! Broadway is now silent due to the pandemic, and no one knows if it will open up again. I mean, who wants to pay $300.00 for a performance (1 seat) and watch them sing behind a mask!
I agree with you that Anna Jane Casey, the dancers and John Wilson and his orchestra are fantastic. And I heartily agree that the UK audience are very appreciative of this kind of performances. The UK audience gives the performers the boost that they need in order to give it their all❤❤.
Dit is veruit het béste dat ik ooit gezien heb in dit genre. Gewoon schitterend. Zulke programma's moesten er meer zijn !
WOW! & Beyond Spectacula & posted on my Pinterest Magazine Opening Page THANK YOU EVERMORE
I really needed this today.
¡Anna Casey esta espeçtacular! La gran orquesta que dirige John Wilson es fenomenal. El cuerpo de baile un poco flojo. Estos gringos como siempre haciendo espectáculos de calidad.
So good.
Wow I needed cheering up. I'm going to play it
again and again. Please lets hope we can back to this entertainment soon. Heavens know we need it!
Its funny how this is having the same effect on us now with the effects of Covid as it had on people during the depression in the 1930s. Its very uplifting.
Anna Jane Casey is a true successor of Shirley MacLaine. Combining her with the amazing chorus line and the fabulous John Wilson orchestra gives you the best impression of the British culture and performance. believe or not, this is like a cup of a finest British afternoon tea. Hats off.
Only complaint is she drops her lower notes. You can hardly hear them...
@@DDumbrille Have you ever tried to dance and sing the same time? I love her with her imperfections altogether.
@ I haven't. But thousands of others have without the volume issues. Plus note that she sings like this BEFORE she starts dancing. Anyway, I know I'm being too picky. :)
DouglassD let’s enjoy it and please don’t be too picky :)
Never gets old - a great pick me up
Absolutely brilliant, the enthusiasm in the performance is second to none, loved it.
Hear hear. I’ve never seen this number done better.
