This is great. There is another performance of this song well worth looking at. BBC Proms 2012 with John Wilson Orchestra and featuring Anna Jane Casey. John Wilson's Orchestra actually does a much better arrangement of the song.

She just lacked confidence in her singing, she totally had it... almost, but the dancing was GREAT. JERRY LOVED IT.
We thought she came out strong vocally, but she was 60s and after the dancing, she was winded.

1) She had completed the 1st dance section/stride, so there was a quick opportunity to grab the hat
2) the hat needed to be removed, so the other dancers don’t trip over it, during the next 2nd/midway dance section
3) that’s why she threw the hat into the audience for the 3rd/final dance section
