I did that when I was child. I grew up among Muslims, so as a child I had many Muslims friends that despised me as a Jew , with unlimited hat rate. So I learned Koran to understand why ? . I write & Read Arabic perfectly. I respect every believer.This is not competition, who read better or what. Judaism never forced any one to be a Jew, and never imposed their believes on any one, like Christian or Muslims. We learn & acknowledge it , as G-d created us to educate our self to understand & follow his laws. Judaism is not a Political tool either as some religions . Reading & listening is not enough, the question is the understanding it in depth , not the sound or voice & propaganda. Hope I answered your question. .
