    I'm Muslim. We pray so similarly to this. The way you show is so different to Jews we have seen praying and is slower; like us. And it is obvious that we are from the same father (monotheism) but different mothers (legalities).
    The prayers you read sound and read similarly to Muslim prayers, focusing only on Allah and His perfect oneness.

    Assalam 'alaikum. Shalom alaikom.
    Jews especially you and Muslims all over the world pray exactly the same way. Though there are some minor differences, but generally are the same. I also identified some of the words that relate to their Arabic counterparts like melekh (malik), raHahmeem (rahim), eloah (Allah), Saadeeqim (shadiqin), shalom (salam), Saadaaqaa (shadaqah) and uhmen (amin). And this video clearly shows the prayer conducted together by at least 2 men and one acts as an imam which is exactly the same. I don't deny that Jews predate Muslims. I don't say we, Muslims, copy on how to pray from the Jews. At this point, Jews and Muslims bow and fall our faces down in prayers to submit to the same One God. It is because Jews and Muslims come from the same root: Abraham. And of course, we pray to the same God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Jews and Muslims are brothers, cousins. Greetings from Indonesia. This opens my eyes. Thank you. May our One God bless you always.

      Most amidah prayer recitings online are in the standard sefardi Israeli or ashkenazi dialect. This is Tiberian Hebrew but in an American accent and the guy is trying to go back to the roots of original Hebrew translation. Mizrahi dialect is more similar to this one because Mizrahi speakers spoke Arabic which has some of the tiberian Hebrew sounds in it but tiberian Hebrew has even more sounds than that.

      This is in the Raabam's book "Ha-Maspeek l-Ovdei HaShem" -- it's his magnum opus. I do not remember the exact location in the book, but it is most likely somewhere in the nearly 100 pages of the book that he devoted to thorough discussion of the topic of prostration in Jewish prayer.

    How come at the two Shuls I visited they didn't do this. In the first shul there was a curtain separating the men and women, and prayer was done by shuckling. In the second shul there was niggun type of prayer. The prayer in this video is more similar to Islamic Salah, which I did and saw the other muslim brothers doing. Also the pronunciation of the Hebrew sounds more Arab or Middle Eastern sounding and less Ashkenazi accent. I know these are probably not massive differences, but it seems that you are doing a very correct a traditional version of the prayer, because it is described that way in the Jewish texts you have cited as references. I am very intrigued by this classical style of prayer, if that's the correct term to use, not to denigrate the other prayers. But this one is very fascinating, because it is the first of its kind that I have seen for Judaism.

    As a non denominational Christian, I am in awe. There is clear love and respect and humility in this style of prayer. I say style because as a believer in Yeshua Jesus the Messiah as the Son of God (no Muslims, not literally a biological son) I don't believe there is a ", certain way to pray" as in if you don't bend properly or if you miss a step etc, then your prayer is invalid. However I do believe Christians / messianics of any kind should learn a thing or two from this - especially as Judaism is our "father faith", and the Jewish people our like our "cousins" (though maybe less enlightened in doctrinal terms lol), and we worship Hashem after all 😁. I may even incorporate some of this prayer in my own prayer routine, thank you for posting!😘

      +Mustafa Muaz Bozer They left this way of prayer because another religion called Islam started copying our practices and to separate ourselves from the world we changed it in a way that still glorifies G-d. Same reasons why Muslims started to clip off their mustache and dye the tips of their beards red, to differentiate them from Christians and Jews who at the time all had beards and dressed similar. Its optional for us, we can pray the old way like he is or the modern way, but I think the old is best.

      Fully body prostration actually never ended it has been maintained by main Chabashim (Ethiopian), Karaite, and Mizrahhim communities since the time of the M"T to this day. I personally do this. However in most Ashkenazi and Sephardic communities this is not widely practiced and because in North America Ashkenazi synagogues make up a majority of the Jewish communities here, it might be seen as a negative distraction in the Shul.
      With that being said, one should not do things in shul that are seen as strange or outlandish and will cause a commotion or distract people. However I agree it is a beautiful way to pray and it is something that I personally do when I am by myself and on a prayer mat. When I go to the synagogue however, I do not.

    • @MidEastAmerican
      @MidEastAmerican  7 лет назад +3

      It's not exactly the same as Allah, but they both come from the same Semitic root. Interestingly, the English/Germanic word God also shares a Semitic root -- the Hebrew Bible refers to a pagan 'god' called Gad (pronounced like the normative English pronunciation of God). It's from a root that means troops, hence there is also a tribe of Israel by this name. It doesn't matter whether there was a moon god called 'allah' at some point in time. Any random person can decide to start calling a rock by whatever word he chooses. What matters is who he's referring to. People who make a big deal about this are throwing stones in a glass house.

This video is reflective of the WHISPERED Amida (often incorrectly called the silent Amida). The WHISPERED Amida is recited the same whether at home or in a minyan. I am not whispering in the video because it is for the purpose of teaching. Obviously, if I whispered in the video, it would be of no help to people who want to learn how to pronounce the Hebrew.

    The typical Ashkenazi way of praying in my opinion falls in the category of the "half-hearted worship" mentioned in Isaiah. Also, speaking with other brothers, it seems that they shy away from that to put some differentiation from Islam, much in the same way the kippah became laughably small. You have no idea how many people see me with my traditional kippah and think Im a Muslim even though I CLEARLY have tzitzit visible. That said, Muhammad's wife was of the Hashemites - I wouldn't be surprised if he got the ideas for Islam from influences of either Jews in the Hashemite tribe or Jewish influences/traditions in their Arabic culture, which is still prominent today among M.E. Muslims, and they dont even know that their traditions come from Judaism. As well, most developments in Islam were a direct response to his observing Judaic practise.

      Sabrina Shahab I am a "Arab" Jew. Im very well acquainted with Islam and have memorised plenty of the Qur'an and hadith, and your statement of circumcision proves my point. Also, I wasn't referring to al-Quraysh, but to al-Hashemi which was Khadija's tribe. It is an original Jewish tribe that assimilated into the Arab population as they never left the Middle East. Many of the Jews who never left actually assimilated and their descendants live today as Arab Muslims in the M.E. The original Jewish Hashemites (even though they are Muslims today) actually ruled over Palestine (the Husseini family) and were forced to abdicate and then ultimately expelled and I think that is so sad. The Zionists have no idea what they did there.

      The Bible has been distorted the worst... The Injeel (Bible) was brought down in the Aramaic language.
      Yet the Bible of today is in English, oh and there are many versions. So it lost it's message and it got tempered with by humans.
      Whereas the Torah is still in Hebrew, and the Quran is in Arabic. These are the languages in which they got revealed and are still being spoken around the globe.
      The same can not be said for Aramaic.. it's a lost language.
      The people of Quran should ONLY BELIEVE the Injeel (the first Bible brought down in Aramaic, also referred to as ''the old testament"), and NOT THE NEW TESTAMENT!

      bani noa is the people of the prophet Noah many thousants of years before judaïsme or the people of the tribe of juda. who is just one of the children of the prophet jacob israel peace upon him..
      if the jews are only the tribe of juda than wat is the religion of the other tribes of jacob israel????
      jahudien are the people of jahuda who is only one of the sons of jacob. judaïsme is not a religion but an etnicity!!!!
      Maybe you should studie and investigate more abaouth jewish history instaed of repeating what they teach you in school..

      ibrahim lahssaini Sure, but only according to the literal meaning of these two words, not according to the practices of those people. Even the Qur'an itself asserts that "muslims" who predated Muhammad had a DIFFERENT shari3a (a different expression of religious law) than the shari3a of modern followers of Muhammad.

      ***** It is very logical that Judaism is much older than Muslim religion. No one should deny it. Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Isaac, Josef, etc are all Jewish Prophets.

    Jewish don't pray like that

    • @deppo_zweifler9029
      @deppo_zweifler9029 Год назад +2

      Not anymore, They used to pray this way
      "I am praying here utilizing hishtaHawa/prostration. In more ancient times this was the way to pray for a Jew, as attested to by Rambam in his work Misheh Torah. The rise of Islam, whose prayers are done in this same way, was largely responsible for the discontinuation of this way of praying in Jewish tradition, as distancing the community from identification with the neighbors has been a long standing Jewish tradition stemming from the mitzvah to not learn how the neighbors worship their deities and say, “I will worship God in this way.”
      It’s really a shame that the practice became virtually unknown to the Jewish world, being kept alive mostly by tehmanim, Jews from Yemen.
      It involves five kneelings with the touching (or near touching) of the head to the ground, and one prostration at the end. This practice helps one to integrate the movement of the body with the intention of the heart and the words of the lips, body/mind/spirit, assisting one in reaching achdut, oneness…or at least pointing in that direction. "
      The main reason for discontinuing prostration was the introduction of benches and chairs into the synagogues under Christinsane influnece in Europe, which was carried further afield beyond Europe by both Sfaradi and Ashkenazi Jews.

      I think so. Palestinian is the true bani israil who follow torah.(sons of israel wich is jacob or yaqub ). they left judaism and coverted to Islam. That's why they look more arabic. Islam is not new religion, Muhammad peace be upon Him is the last and final messenger, not the one and only messenger in Islam faith. Adam,eve, Moses, Jesus, Abraham, Noah,joseph, etc peace be upon them all are muslim.

      Gusvianto Nugraha Bani/Banu Israel roughly translates to "people of" or "children of Israel" which refers to Jews. Palestinian is a political identity/nationality. There were "Palestinian" Jews after ancient and present Israel, Judea and Samaria came to be known as "Palestine" due to Roman expulsion and humiliation of the Jewish people. Bani Israel are everywhere. The Chinese jews, Ethiopian Jews are considered as children of Israel.

      Trisna Griya Tika if your definition of Muslim is "submission to The One True G-d" then our prophets are Muslims. The Jews are Muslims. The Christians are Muslims. However, if your prerequisite to being Muslim is following Shariah, recognizing the Sunnah and the Hadiths then none of us are Muslims as we do not recognize those nor did the prophets promulgate those. As Jews, and some Noachides we only recognize the Torah and revelations that the prophets themselves received from G-d.

    אליה שלום
    ראיתי את הסרטון שהפצת, אבל כפי שאתה בטח יודע, צורת ההשתחויה שעשית - לא נפסקה להלכה בכל תפוצות ישראל. כל עדות ישראל, כולל התימנים, כאשר צריך להשתחוות, משתחווים על ידי קידה של הגב העליון והראש. צורת ההשתחוויה שהצגת משתמשים בה אך ורק פעם אחת בשנה בתפילת מוסף של יום הכיפורים בעת שאומרים את סדר העבודה של כהן גדול בבית המקדש, שכאשר העם היו שומעים את שמו של הקב"ה היו כורעים ומשתחווים.
    חבל מאוד שכך הם הדברים.
    בברכה

      who is the ''you guys''? Stop judging people. I'm a practicing muslim too.. what you see on television is NOT how the people of Torah behave. Go to Israel. They live in peace. Have been doing it for centuries. It's politics that stirs the pot. And the weak minds that follow it create this chaos in the middle east.

    • @MikhailHauptman
      @MikhailHauptman 8 лет назад +6

      It is a Jewish prayer, has always been. But there are different ways of praying that Jews follow according to Posek, tradition, etc. The video uploader prays the way Taimani/Yemeni Jews chant. While I follow the Sefardi way, there is also a variation with The Ashkenazim and Karaite but in essence the same prayer and verses from the same Torah.

      it is a Jewish prayer. Jews prayed like this before we were under christian and Islamic rule. The prophet Mohammed borrowed a lot from Judaism.

      i dont know much but it is same as we muslims pray in mosque. why jews dont pray now as shown in video. ALLAH has always loved JEWS people more than Wr MUSLIMS... and that is the reason why ALLAH has always sent his PROPHETES to the Children of ISRAEL... But only one PROPHETE MUHAMMAD S.A.W. And After ISHMAIL A.S. For ARABs...

      Please my fellow Muslims brother (and Turkish, I'm Turkish too)
      Do NOT use the arabic word Allah when you talk about the one and only God IN ENGLISH. Use it's English word, THE ONE AND ONLY GOD.
      When you use an arabic word for ''the one and only God", Allah, you make it seem as if Allah is a different god only Muslims pray to. You are damaging Islam by doing this... aware or unaware. When you speak English use English word to describe God, you can use this phrase: the one and only God.
