Alternate ending: Dreadnought Brenevier launched a barrage of heavy bolter fire before turning to shield a squad of Battle Sisters from the enemies' response. "Many thanks, venerable one." said the Canoness leading the Sororitas, her weathered face showing her years of service. But those years had not dulled her battlefield senses, as a Heretic soon learned with a bolt round to the head, as he tried to sneak toward the armored group with a krak grenade. "You should be evacuating with the rest," the Dreadnought boomed, "The line will not hold for long." "It will so long as we draw breath," the Canoness called back, directing her Sisters to another group of incoming Heretics. "Besides, I would not dishonor the sacrifice of your brother Astartes with cowardice. For those we cherish...." "We die in glory," Brenevier finished automatically. He paused once he noticed what had happened. "You have fought alongside Lamenters before." "I have. I never miss an opportunity to repay my... *_our_* debt to your chapter." _"That is more than what can be said for my cousins...."_ Brenevier grumbled, decades of bitter dreams breaking through his usual stoicism. "Some of us recognize the valor of your warriors," the Canoness agreed with a wry smile. "I will never forget my first experience with the Lamenters. It will be almost 70 years to the day." 70 years.... The Dreadnought mused. That was right around the time he was entombed. At the defense of... "You were at the battle of Corillia?" "Hive Holdenmire," she nodded. Another brief pause. "I do not recall any Sororitas on that front." He turned to face the Canoness. "Where in the city did you--" For the first time in that campaign, Brenevier was dumbstruck. Not even the impact of autogun fire would pull his attention. Mounted on the center of the Canoness's chestplate, surrounded by numerous prayer seals, was a smaller piece of parchment. Despite years of fading, one could still recognize the unmistakable outline of an Astartes's power armor, its crude proportions betraying the childish hand that drew it. Next to it was an equally crude drawing of a red heart, the heraldry of the Lamenters. "Canoness...." Brenevier began slowly. "I do not recall hearing your name." "Molada", she said, briefly looking up from her bolt pistol sights to meet his gaze. Despite the unchanging facade of the Dreadnought armor, she couldn't help but be drawn in to its piercing gaze. _"Molli..."_ "....Breni??" A tear welled up in her eyes, breaking the usually hardened veneer of her face. "Emperor's Grace, it really is you." A heaving breath. "You did stay with us....." A rocket crashed onto Brenevier's shoulder, the explosion finally breaking him from his stupor. Once again the Dreadnought unleashed the fury of his heavy bolter against the incoming Heretics. "I am afraid this happy reunion will not last long if the line breaks." Brenevier growled. "So be it," Canoness Molada said, wiping her soot-stained face with her pistol-hand before loading a new magazine. A vicious grin was now growing on her face. "We will have no choice but to break the enemy before that happens." Brenevier turned slightly to meet her eyes. Even through the Dreadnought armor, Molada could tell a similar grin was growing on his battle-scarred face. "So be it." Brenevier raised his ceramite arm in exuberant defiance. *"FOR THOSE WE CHERISH!!"* He roared before charging straight at the Heretic mob. *"WE DIE IN GLORY!!"* the Sororitas roared back, joining their brother Astartes in the charge. -------- Fun fact: "Molada" means "giver of life", while "Moli" means "rebellious" (or in this case, "defiant") :D

I'm as much in awe reading the comment section as I was listening to the video. The Lamenter shows the Iron Warrior what it means to be Iron within and without. Unbreakable resolve that the Iron Warriors can only pay lip service to. He sees what he could never be no matter how often he chants their motto. He sees what he couldve been, what he abandoned, and he smashes the mirror. Yet, even in pieces, it reflects his failures.
You're wrong. The Lamenters aren't simply crude and brittle iron which can be broken. They're the finest tempered steel or even diamond, for those worthless wretches do not truly understand what it really means to be strong, for all they do try so damn hard to justify their treachery and project their own failures onto others because they were too weak to stay loyal. The Iron Warrior is nothing but a weak piece of scrap iron who's trying to project his pathetic weakness onto an astartes he knows, that he *knows* is a thousand times the man he will *ever* be, even if given 10,000 years to do so.
You misread his reply, he was saying the iron warrior failed to be iron within and the Lamenter shows the resolve to stand by his beliefs regardless of the consequences.
21:26 "you stayed" it wasn't even the fact that everyone else abandoned them but the survivors themselves gave up too, but it was the the lamenters who stayed and inspired them to keep going despite how hopeless the situation was
The Ultramarines are all like courage and honor, boys like Angron said you know nothing about courage and honor, but Lamenters at the other hand... Absolutely beautiful, they are true sons of Sanguinus.
@@christianwarrior3169 In regards to his last stand and his rebellion on Nuceria, he knew everything about Courage and Honor. When he was taken away from his Last Stand with his Slave Brothers and Sisters dying and him surviving is when he stopped knowing Courage and Honor as he descended into Anger and Madness.
@@PolarisTheMorrigan Then why did you not save his brother and sister, Emperor!? You say it is because Nuceria had aready join the imperium and you did not want to destroy the planet production capability. @@PolarisTheMorrigan Yet when given power, what did he do? Did he uplift those suffering under the reign of tyranny? Did he tell his sons the importance of liberty? Somewhere in the Immaterium, Sanguinius' soul is weeping for these true sons of his each time they fall... True Angels for any human that gets to be in their presence
Dark Angels and Spacewolfs may be the greatest of warriors, Ultramarines and Raven Guards may be leaders, but the Lamenters and Salamanders are over all human, for those we cherish, we die in glory
Unless you've been a soldier in real combat you'll never understand why all that suffering from a priceless warrior is far easily worth the life of 1 poor, malnourished child. I would die 1000 deaths by fire to save 1 child! You dont know the true blessings which await those who have given all for the forgotten
How it enraged the Iron Warrior that the Lamenter had something to believe in, something to die for. If he could have, I think he would have traded places with him. What a beautiful story. Thank you for bringing it to life.
That's how pathetic the traitor marines truly are. They supposedly have all this power and so on, but what does that really give them? They have nothing to truly live or fight for, they're nothing but slaves, despite what they might say.
that's why he was so adamant on trying to break his will, so the lamenter would cave and the iron warrior could feel justified in being a traitor and a heretic
IRON WARRIOR: "Hah! Everything you've done today has been for NOTHING, Son of Dorn! This world is--" LAMENTER: "S...son of Dorn? But I'm not an Imperial Fist." IRON WARRIOR: "Of course you are! This one got me instantly tearing up at “Molly is…” he calls her by her name he probably knew the name of each child he saved. Remembers their faces too.
It's been almost a month since I've just gotten into 40k. After days of reading, learning some basics to the tabletop, ordering a few minis and paint and finding my favorite Chapter I can easily say this is the most I've genuinely cried in years, and I'm sure as hell not going anywhere. For those we cherish. . .
I never heard this story and this shit made me cry when I was at work. Sure I'm emotional when I dont even think about it but the way Vox delivers is just.. so hard hitting.
The "Please don't go, please stay" broke me. Voice actors did a great job just reminded me of my daughter. Just to hold her, wanting to stay and say you're safe.
I am terrified that the Lamenters are seen only to suffer, fail and die. While tragedy is the key theme of the Chapter, what is tragedy without hope? I despise the thought of the Lamenters being seen as a joke, and I feel they deserve the odd win more than once. In saying that, they have truly endured. When they were first mentioned, both the Lamenters as well as the Scythes of the Emperor were mentioned as DESTROYED by the Tyrannids! They got a second chance and 40k is richer for it. As for this tale, I shed a tear by the end. Stellar work!
As an old player finally dipping into astartes, the lamenters seem to win as well as ultramarines. Unfortunately their victories are always soured by something. they get windfalls on things where other chapters would have been complelty eradicated (by enemy or inquisition). They are truly a chapter of pure hope. Then the internet grabbed them, turned up the grimderp and now can't exit the rhino without tripping on a rock and shooting themselves. This story really points out how they constantly put themselves in those situations. By caring for others, by wearing their hearts on their sleeve.
I'm in shame. I always think of the Lamenters as a joke. And now I'm broke in tears, remembering...they are Angels, brother Adrian. They are winged angels as you and your own brothers, and their sacrifice honor our fathers death. For those who we cared. We die in glory.
The fact Lamenters are able to cry for each other, and for normal mortals, explains the Lamenters perfectly. What type of Space Marine Chapter would you get, if the Emperors mistake upon making them, was he forgot to take away their emotions? Take away their humanity? What would happen if Space Marines where left with their humanity? They would suffer horrendous loses and be looked at as being cursed by other Space Marines. What else would you get? Stories of Space Marines sacrificing themselves to save children, stories of putting themselves in front of ordinance even to protect one little girl. Stories of Space Marines, despite horrific loses, never giving up. What is the point of defending humanity if one's humanity is lost in the defence? Space Marines fight because the Emperor bred them to fight. Lamenters? They fight for the Hope of a better tomorrow. Honor means nothing without sacrifice.
Warhammer stories go through a range of emotions; but this is the first one that made me cry. It’s easy for an Astartes chapter to talk about duty and bravery when they’re your Ultramarines, always with a beautiful sunset to ride off into. It’s another when you know you’re doomed from the start; and yet the Lamenters embody all the greatest traits of their Primarch, despite their decimated forces, genetic curse, and seemingly cosmic bad luck. If I ever get my own 40k army, it’s a foregone conclusion that the first paint I’ll buy will be yellow
To make a templar weep. Though the blood angels, and their successors are cursed with the black rage, and red thirst, they stand tall. No remorse, no respite, no fear! Die well Lamenter, may the emperor keep you. Rest knowing that your sacrifice moved this Templar, and allowed him to remember what we Astartes fight for. For those we cherish we die in glory!
Damn, this is the first 40k story ever to bring me to tears, and I'm a grown men. That scene with the dying Lamenter and how all the hivers laid their hands upon him broke me. I think the Lamenters are my favourite loyalist chapter now. I don't really know what else to say apart from thanking you once again for all those beautiful stories that you gift to us. You really are the best 40k story channel I know of. For those we cherish, we die in glory.
Thankyou kindly reaper. It's a beautifully written story and I was honoured to bring it to life. I have a new one coming out in a hour and a half if you're around! For those we Cherish..
I have followed the Warhammer 40k lore for almost a decade, but never have I heard a more compelling storytelling than this. This fleshes out that in the grimdark of it all, in a galaxy where near perfect demigods roam, perhaps it is in the most flawed that becomes the best of them, and that thereby in being flawed, the beauty of their forgotten humanity shines. I enjoyed this reading inasmuch as I have loved your telling of loyalist World Eaters. I shed tears 3 minutes in. Well done for showing the humanity of the Lamenters in a grimdark universe where compassion is but a speck and a miracle. Words fail me brother. Ave Imperator!
"Do not lament my Chapter, brother. Becouse for those we cherish, we die in glory" The Captain ended the vox link to the other Astartes commanders. He turned and sighed. We knew our task, even though we would do it alone. The Captain looked over us sharply, we saw the pict feeds. The civillian corpses, it angered us. Other Chapters rarely understood us, bar others of the blood. Our faces where set, our purpose set upon our angelic features. My Brother-Sargeant clenched his power sword tighter in anger at what he saw as desecration of the Emperors loyal subjects. The company Chaplain then closed his sermon book loudly. at the alter, from where he had not moved since he came into the chapel. Everyone fell even more silent. But everyone had made their hearts course known by expression alone. The Chaplain, deathmasked could not find fault. " You make me proud my brethren " he calmly spoke. He continued... " You stand as sure as our gene sire, Sanguinius did. The great angel stood at eternity gate. We Lamenters forever stand at the same gate. In our own way, for those who we MUST defend, just. Like. Him.In spirit rather then flesh. I see this gift burn in you all. The gift our Primarch left us before every other. ..." I watched.. my brethren slowly moving into diciplined ranks which I joined. The last few brothers unlocking their helmets. Placing them before them on the ceramite floor of our strike cruiser. The Captain alone remains standing, the company champion kneels. The company banner in his left hand. Silence endures for a moment, broken when Chaplain Astiel moves over the raised platform in the chapel. " We shall go unto them. As the Angel did. To stand against the tide. We shall burn the traitors from this world to whom they wish to lay claim. We will deny them this! For we stand, in the name of the Emperor and Sanguinius! This is your purpose! And your path is singular! We came here the first. By your duty and on our Chapters honor! You Will be the last!" I felt fire within my breast. My hearts surged. As the Chaplains words rang true as thunder trough the chapel. Not a split second later we all rose. Voicing the reply as we had for decades. A full ninteyseven astartes voices booming as one. "May the Emperor protect!" A split second later the warning lights sounded and the horns bellowed across the ship. Mere moments later our squad was in our designated drop pod and the lurch and sudden whine of its engine send us towards the planets surface. I knew no fear. And accepted that for the people I would readily lay down my life. I never doubted this. Not once. Becouse for those we cherish. We die in glory.

Dammit man...why can't we just have this kind of a tale as an everyday thing? Anyone ever deployed and had to deal with kids in war zones know exactly this feeling. Why do we do this as a species? Well done. Peace to everyone.
Goddamn Onion-cutting ninjas, doing their thing while lsitening to this glorious praise to the Emperor's finest! Magnificent work! You absolutely bring it to a whole new level with each new story!! LOVED THIS!!
From 4:42 to the end, i kept cried, cried like little child and i am proud of it. The beauty and sadness of this touch my heart, everything was great, the story, those voices, all great. "For those we cherish, we die in glory!" and For Lamenters, i lament in tears!
Now that you say that, I want to see a squeal where the Space Wolves slaughter Kraux's warband, and it ends with the Space Wolf character of the video says "This is for Corelia and the Lamenters."
I about burst into tears at work while listening to this, this makes me want to collect space marines for the lamenter chapter alone. Thank you for such a wonderful dive into the lore of a universe I cherish so much!
This story broke me. It geniunely broke me. Was painting some minis while hearing this in your Space Marine playlist and had to stop because tears were running all over my face. I'm so grateful that I found your channel and compassionate stories. People like you make the hobby worthy. So thank you for the time & effort spent to bring them to life!
I cried. Deep and ugly. They are the nobility in the hearts of humanity. Imperfect, and all-too-mortal, but bright and unwavering until the final moment. I love that they are all-too aware of the horrors of their(and our) universe, and of the depths of grief, but they continue on. They acknowledge it, but do not let it overwhelm them. Rather, they rise to meet reality and do all that they can... even if they might doubt themselves. I think the only thing that would make me love the lamenters even more would be if they didn't believe in a faith or an afterlife. If they went into battle knowing that death could just mean complete oblivion. But that's something personal to my beliefs and not exactly common in 40k anyways. I wish that I had the compassion and the strength of will of these paragons. Even if they are fictional, they inspire me to be better: to be physically and mentally strong, to love, and to sacrifice. To live and die in glory.
I am happy that it rained on my commute. It truly did. What an absolute masterpiece. Both written and voiced, my god... this will stay with me for a damn long time. Thank you for this.
The lamenters are a rare thing they know they have transcended their regular human biology but In both mind and spirit the know themselves to still be human and hold more than just a dutiful sense of responsibility for the lives of humans they are perhaps one of the few chapters that would find it difficult to not to give up every ship in their fleet if it meant saving just a few more no matter the risk
I shouldn't be surprised at the quality of fan-writings due to the recent history of excellent fan animation. Such a talented community. But damn. This one really hit me hard.
... Thank you, for making this. The Lamenters recently became my favorite space marine chapter, and this video tells why. If I ever had to live in the blighted galaxy of the 41st millennium, this is the example I would try my damndest to live up to.
The Lamenters show true strength in the face of the corrupt and weak slaves of the Traitor Astartes, I felt myself crying for most of this, absolutely beautiful.
The traitors are but weak and pathetic cowards who try to constantly justify their treachery and project their failures onto others. They hate the Lamenters, Salamanders, and a few other chapters because they see everything they could've been in those astartes and want to destroy them only because they are a constant reminder of that fact.
"Sanguinius. It should have been him. He has the vision and the strength to carry us to victory, and the wisdom to rule once that victory is won." - Horus Lupercarl The Lamenters are among the truest of Sanguinius' children...
@@chubbyninja89what extent is that? Anything short of marines malevolent? 😂 the only ones who stand with the lamenters in this regard is the salamanders.
@@WyaldTalk Well, the Space Wolves did in fact try to protect the civilians and common soldiers during and after the First War of Armageddon, and the Ultramarines aren't known to be quite so dismissive with the lives of the civilians, as they have a realm of Ultramar that they rule over. So I wouldn't say that it's purely Lamenters and Salamanders and everyone else are the marines malevolent on the asshole meter.
Your video has finally answered a question that has vexed me for years. Which Space Marine Chapter is my favorite? For the longest time, I thought it was the Salamanders. The giant, onyx skinned sons of Vulcan, who gladly stay behind and defend humanity with Holy Fire. But the more I learned about these True Sons of Sanguinius, I realized that they are everything that the Emperor wanted his Space Marines to be. Those who would face insurmountable odds without fear or hesitation. Those who would face certain Death with Pride and Courage. Those who dive head first into truly unwinnable battles against the Galaxies' most fearsome horrors, if it meant just a few more of the Imperium's innocent citizens have a chance to survive. To be, not just the tip of the Humanities Spear, but a Shield against the Terrors. No matter the hardships and scorn unjustly thrown at them, they will never abandon their oaths to both The Emperor and Sanguinius. For Those We Cherish, We Die In Glory.
This is a masterpiece, truly! i was expecting the Sanguinor or the Legion of the Damned to come to his aide but to hear normal everyday citizens rallying to fight was even more wonderful.
By the Emperor the moment Molly started speaking was when the waterworks threatened to take over. It takes a LOT for a piece of fiction to make me get wet in the eyes, and I applaud it when something like this does as such.
@@AVoxintheVoid It's stories like this that make the Lamenters one of if not the greatest of Space Marine Chapters. Sure they may not be the strongest, best-equipped or the most popular Chapter for the Imperium to call upon due to their heritage with the 21st Founding. And many in the fanbase have turned them into as much of meme as the Ultramarines. But in spite of how far the Galaxy goes to mess with their existence, the Lamenters tenacity and how far they'll go to protect and saves those that cannot protect themselves - an act that would make most other Chapters roll their eyes at - is something to be respected and commended.
This was an absolute masterpiece, it broke my heart and reforged it into steel. God bless you man, I really appreciate your hard work and efforts in making this story come to life in my mind. It was so real and so full of hope, inspiration, selfless sacrifice and service. Man I just wanna go volunteer somewhere now. every time I come back to this story, I am certain it will not hit me it did previously. Every time I am wrong. All other chapters and legions might have all the glorious victories. But Lamenters and their stand against inevitable ... that is the purest form of courage deserving the highest glory. FOR THOSE WE CHERISH, WE DIE IN GLORY Thank you for this and everything you do!
Ouch...The feels...Great background music, sets the mood very well. I was really hoping the Lamenter to become a Dreadnought and have a face to face with the Iron Warrior some years later, though.
I remember the first time I read this fanfic, I couldn't stop crying near the end. Thank you for this video. The emotion in your voice really brought it all back to life again. The Lamenters truly are one of the best Chapters the Imperium has. They are a source of inspiration not only in the WH40k universe but also outside of it as well. They go through so much on a daily basis - getting fricked by the very universe, let alone most of the people who they serve along with. Yet they still hold themselves true to their duty - protecting the Emperor, the Imperium and the Civilians. It gives one inspiration to overcome their own problems and keep going strong. May the God-Emperor watch over these noble men and give them the strength to keep fighting on.
If the legends and tales are true. The Legion of the Damned are Space Marines that have died a most brutal death at the hands of those who seek the utter destruction of the Imperium but more the breaking and wholesale slaughter of its people. Than the Lamenters number a great deal of that Legion's members. The Lamenters are amongst a small few of Astrates that will sacrifice themselves in battle for the people of the Imperium. Not many Chapters can say the same, only a select few. The people of the Imperium are grateful for them all. Lamenter, go rest from your wounds, for the time will come soon for you to go forth and protect the people once again, For Those We Cherish!
Exquisite, absolutely exquisite in every form of the word. The capturing of the essence of the defiance in the face of certain death, knowing the Lamentor is assured of his death. The voice of the little girl is the highlight of the piece, she did so, so well. The contrast of the loss of humanity of the cultists vs the guard. Simply exquisite. I hope you do a collab with the voice of das_man one day, his voice acting is of the highest degree. It’s a shame he deleted videos of his cannon 40k work due to it taking away money from black library. But even his fanfic stuff is great
That was an incredibly kind message to read. I have passed on your thoughts about my daughter's performance, made her morning. Thank you once again my friend
This is an absolute masterpiece, truly conveys the tragedy and melancholy of the Lamenters. The staunch defiance in the face of death and the compassion for the layman is everything that embodies the rarest of hope in the 41st millennium and why the Lamenters will always be my favorite chapter of space marines. I was expecting a ironic rebuke that would have made the iron warrior likely furious, but at the same time, even the dark gods would laugh. Iron warrior: YOU ARE NOTHING! I slew Astartes a hundred times your worth on the black sands of Istvaan V and I declare truthfully you are nothing! (expected reply) Lamenter: If I am nothing, then why do care what I think? Why do you give me so much attention? If I am nothing, WHY IS ONE SOOO MIGHTY BOTHERING WITH A NOTHING? You are the one who is nothing! Like your traitor gene-father, you merely project your own failings onto others assuming them to be wanting. But no. It is YOU. I die with a proud heart while you live as a flawed, hollow, broken, and rusted piece of iron scrap! Alternate ending:
Dreadnought Brenevier launched a barrage of heavy bolter fire before turning to shield a squad of Battle Sisters from the enemies' response.
"Many thanks, venerable one." said the Canoness leading the Sororitas, her weathered face showing her years of service. But those years had not dulled her battlefield senses, as a Heretic soon learned with a bolt round to the head, as he tried to sneak toward the armored group with a krak grenade.
"You should be evacuating with the rest," the Dreadnought boomed, "The line will not hold for long."
"It will so long as we draw breath," the Canoness called back, directing her Sisters to another group of incoming Heretics. "Besides, I would not dishonor the sacrifice of your brother Astartes with cowardice. For those we cherish...."
"We die in glory," Brenevier finished automatically. He paused once he noticed what had happened. "You have fought alongside Lamenters before."
"I have. I never miss an opportunity to repay my... *_our_* debt to your chapter."
_"That is more than what can be said for my cousins...."_ Brenevier grumbled, decades of bitter dreams breaking through his usual stoicism.
"Some of us recognize the valor of your warriors," the Canoness agreed with a wry smile. "I will never forget my first experience with the Lamenters. It will be almost 70 years to the day."
70 years.... The Dreadnought mused. That was right around the time he was entombed. At the defense of...
"You were at the battle of Corillia?"
"Hive Holdenmire," she nodded.
Another brief pause. "I do not recall any Sororitas on that front." He turned to face the Canoness. "Where in the city did you--"
For the first time in that campaign, Brenevier was dumbstruck.
"I do not recall hearing your name."
"Molada", she said, briefly looking up from her bolt pistol sights to meet his gaze. Despite the unchanging facade of the Dreadnought armor, she couldn't help but be drawn in to its piercing gaze.
_"Molli..."_
"....Breni??" A tear welled up in her eyes, breaking the usually hardened veneer of her face. "Emperor's Grace, it really is you." A heaving breath. "You did stay with us....."
A rocket crashed onto Brenevier's shoulder, the explosion finally breaking him from his stupor.
"We will have no choice but to break the enemy before that happens."
Brenevier turned slightly to meet her eyes. Even through the Dreadnought armor, Molada could tell a similar grin was growing on his battle-scarred face. "So be it."
Brenevier raised his ceramite arm in exuberant defiance. *"FOR THOSE WE CHERISH!!"* He roared before charging straight at the Heretic mob.
*"WE DIE IN GLORY!!"* the Sororitas roared back, joining their brother Astartes in the charge.

They do not fight for the imperium they fight for humanity
For those we cherish we die in glory!

Absolutely beautiful, they are true sons of Sanguinus.
angron is the last person I'd consider knowing anything bout that subject
@@christianwarrior3169 In regards to his last stand and his rebellion on Nuceria, he knew everything about Courage and Honor. When he was taken away from his Last Stand with his Slave Brothers and Sisters dying and him surviving is when he stopped knowing Courage and Honor as he descended into Anger and Madness.
@@PolarisTheMorrigan Then why did you not save his brother and sister, Emperor!? You say it is because Nuceria had aready join the imperium and you did not want to destroy the planet production capability. But I would argue that the loyalty of a Primarch, a being that can -with his legion- conquer an entire sector, far outwiegh the benefit of keeping a planet ruled by tyrant that would be more than happy to backstab you if given the chance.
@@PolarisTheMorrigan Yet when given power, what did he do? Did he uplift those suffering under the reign of tyranny? Did he tell his sons the importance of liberty? Angron was no better than the High-Riders of Nuceria he despises so much.

Its ironic with angron because he had such a unique power he was capable of taking away people's pain and woes and what not but then the nails drove him mad before that he was very honorable
Ciaphas Cain took 99% of all the luck the Lamenters have. Poor yellow bois cant seem to catch a break. :)

Wept like a fucking baby. Brenevier was truly one of the Emperor's Finest.
Upon holy Terra, in the Throne Room itself, a tear rolls down the face of the Emperor's ravaged body, shed to honour the sacrifice of one of his greatest warriors and even through endless layers of buildings and earth, the Bell of Heroes can be heard tolling.

That's how pathetic the traitor marines truly are.
They supposedly have all this power and so on, but what does that really give them?
They have nothing to truly live or fight for, they're nothing but slaves, despite what they might say.

Yeah that was me and my daughter 😊
I am terrified that the Lamenters are seen only to suffer, fail and die. While tragedy is the key theme of the Chapter, what is tragedy without hope?
I despise the thought of the Lamenters being seen as a joke, and I feel they deserve the odd win more than once.
In saying that, they have truly endured. When they were first mentioned, both the Lamenters as well as the Scythes of the Emperor were mentioned as DESTROYED by the Tyrannids!
They got a second chance and 40k is richer for it.
As for this tale, I shed a tear by the end. Stellar work!
Fantastic post. I'm always humbled by the fans knowledge and love of the lore. Thank you for the kind words

Thank you for the beautiful video.
@@carlosfirpi1878

"For those we cherish we die in glory" this made me cry, awesome awesome work tanks

Thankyou so much for your beautifully written response! Pinned!

"Do not lament my Chapter, brother.
Becouse for those we cherish, we die in glory"
The Captain ended the vox link to the other Astartes commanders.
The gift our Primarch left us before every other. ..."
I watched.. my brethren slowly moving into diciplined ranks which I joined.
You Will be the last!"
I felt fire within my breast. My hearts surged. As the Chaplains words rang true as thunder trough the chapel. Not a split second later we all rose. Voicing the reply as we had for decades. A full ninteyseven astartes voices booming as one.
"May the Emperor protect!"
A split second later the warning lights sounded and the horns bellowed across the ship. Mere moments later our squad was in our designated drop pod and the lurch and sudden whine of its engine send us towards the planets surface. I knew no fear. And accepted that for the people I would readily lay down my life. I never doubted this. Not once.
Becouse for those we cherish. We die in glory.

Now that you say that, I want to see a squeal where the Space Wolves slaughter Kraux's warband, and it ends with the Space Wolf character of the video says "This is for Corelia and the Lamenters."
I’m not gonna lie…. This was a tear jerker and I now have a better love and understanding of the Lamenters….. by the throne this was sooooo good.

The traitors are but weak and pathetic cowards who try to constantly justify their treachery and project their failures onto others.

The emperor gives the Lamenters the heaviest burdens because no one else can bear them.
They're not entirely alone, as the Salamanders, Ultramarines, and even Space Wolves to an extent care about the people of the Imperium.
@@chubbyninja89what extent is that? Anything short of marines malevolent? 😂 the only ones who stand with the lamenters in this regard is the salamanders.

Well, the Space Wolves did in fact try to protect the civilians and common soldiers during and after the First War of Armageddon, and the Ultramarines aren't known to be quite so dismissive with the lives of the civilians, as they have a realm of Ultramar that they rule over.
So I wouldn't say that it's purely Lamenters and Salamanders and everyone else are the marines malevolent on the asshole meter.
Incredably written. Brilliant.this should.be made into a short animated 3D film.
I seriously can not comprehend how beautiful the story, the script, the voice acting. Literally brought me to tears. Shame on hollywood!

@@AVoxintheVoid It's stories like this that make the Lamenters one of if not the greatest of Space Marine Chapters. Listening to the torture this poor astartes went through..
Brutal!!
Then the juxtaposition of how all the survivors came over to comfort him..
So good!!
Thank you!
I threw this on, ready to have a sleep...
Now, after a long sigh followed by a longer dumbfounded silence.. I'm ready to follow Sargent Atherolf to whatever end, rid my hive of off-world scum, and avenge brother Brenevere!
For those we Cherish Brother.
@@AVoxintheVoid really though, the standard is incredibly high, I feel like you need a little luck with the algorithm and you'll be a rocket ship.
Appreciate what you do
Brenevere found his glory. Now it’s our turn. Not until we cast those traitors back to the abyss.
I need that night lord audio big dawg
It'll come soon...got a few projects to work on then I'll be straight on it. I'm listening to a night lords audiobook at the mo and it's incredible. Really interested in the bat boys now
Youve made me love the lamenters, but id love to hear some storys for my chapter the Exorcists, maybe something about the broken ones...
It very likely would have caused the Iron Warrior to utterly pulverize the Lamenter til nothing remained, which would have meant a shorter story, still it is beautiful and worthy of praise.
Well done, seriously well done.
Great job dude.
But you're right, the traitors are living a pathetic lie and try to convince themselves that their treachery was somehow justified.
Really shows the humanity of the Lamenters. Some of the only good guys in 40k truly having respect and love for the citizens of the Imperium.
Let it be known that Coriella, despite the odds, held.
That the Lamenters were not found wanting.
Because for those they cherish, they died in glory...
It's funny That Dante is doing nothing for them.... But the Black Templar do.... They must take a big victory they are so good...
Wym black templars do what did the templars do for the lamenters??? Where can I find this lore
Dang Vox, why you gotta make me cry. First Gav and Bob and now a true hero, i need more of your work. This is such a beautiful thing you have made as tribute to our god emperor, may he shine his grace down upon you.
Iron warrior "your primarch is dead"
Breneveir "that may be so but alteast he loved us, unlike yours. He hates you".
Nice.
From the Imperial Firsts vs Iron Warriors video.
👍
Well i didn't know i was going to cry that hard today. There needs to be some lamenters animations.
FOR THE EMPEROR AND FOR Brenvir
