So side note: I forgot to turn on Deathmode/Malice, and so I did some testing after to make sure my info was still accurate and I gotta say. I am very glad I didn't because trust me when I say you need to try it for yourself. It's hilarious.
Oh yeah and those modes have 0 difference, still no RDR. Gone.

I don't think there are words to describe how genuinely happy I am to hear this. I can FINALLY play Calamity again and not worry about half the game being ruined by shitty mechanics.
To be fair the mod was still definitely playable, but RDR was definitely frustrating to play with at times.

Gosh, the weapon reworks look gorgeous! Never did I think we’d be seeing such a high standard in base Calamity.
Glad the timed DR and aggro are gone, too. Now you can get back to business in the ol’ No Accessories challenge…
Yeah yeah, i'm working on no accessories. But this update brought so many opportunities for fun content that I just have to jump on the ideas.
Now i want to play melee again. if they rework more weapons from other classes it would add more replayability with those classes too

Yeah the biome blade/ark reworks are amazing, from generic projectile swords to super unique and interesting

@@MJelly-yj8kp To be fair I retract part of my statement on the account of it not entirely fitting Calamity's style, but it's still cool to see some integration of those visuals.
Also yes. For now i'm sticking to Calamity because funny enough I actually enjoy it. I plan to move to other mods and check them out in due time but give me that time.

Good things these are gone. The DR punished good players who planned things out and the early change punished bad players who need to take things slowly at their own time.
Now I finally have peace knowing that melee isn't always nerfed to oblivion anymore
Just curious, did you happen to face an issue with the reworked Omega Biome Blade? Since I haven’t seen it being showcased in the video and I happen to crash constantly when I try to interact with it

It just came to me that the Omega Biome Blade is no longer a thing in the current update, oddly the updated Omega Biome Blade would crash the game when I tried to interact with it. So I was left to disable the calamity mod and trash the item
Sorry to be the sour end of it but I’ve noticed that these pros come with a cost, like DoG being way too aggressive than usual as a Post DoG player in expert. So I think they may had cranked up the difficulty level again.
and? Calamity is supposed to be a difficult mod. Also "new" doesn't immediately mean difficult, as it's subjective. Give it time, people complained about exo mechs when that was new. (I get why but see my point here)
@@MrJFL understandable, just recently gotten over it when I’ve just discovered the other pros, so funny enough I think there’s more pros than cons now, since challenger items are no longer exclusive and the new reworked weapons make good work of the buffed challenges
I hated the update since 1.5 the only good part is malis mode and new stuff hate the nerfs and everthing els lol

MAD mode is now so much more enjoyable without the RDR. I'm glad they changed that

@@MrJFL changelog on the wiki says "Reactive Damage Reduction has been removed from all bosses unless Malice Mode is enabled."

Trying out the reworks in a melee-only run.
Fractured Ark got 1000 damage crits against WoF after using adrenaline and parrying. Basically just deleted it from 50% health.
10/10, would do obscene amounts of damage to WoF again
Honestly i dont care what people say, but this will make the mod easier in certain phases, and that's not bad at all.
When doing a mod(or Game) of which one of its premises is its difficulty, one needs to knows when is adding too much, because if this happens the mod/Game losses a bit of its enjoyability( dont know if that Word exist neither i care, i think we all get the idea). And in calamity most of us cant keep the pace between offense and evading the auchies( me included).
And the melee rework is superb, i see myself doing a melee playtrought soon.
The Ark of the Cosmos rework came out just after I finished my melee playthrough. Here we go again...

Did any of you guys get a problem with loading a calamity mode files? I had a problem while loading it with the file being called “tmod:CalamityMod/Effects/CircularAoETelegraph”
Not sure if it’s related, but I’m having issues on whenever I try to hover my mouse over the reworked Omega Biome Blade riddled with tons of particles in just item form and it just instantly crashes
Before Draedon dropped, I found a mildly amusing bug-interaction between Calamity and the Item Modifier mod. There’s a certain projectile ID that would hard crash the game if it killed something. Dunno if it got fixed or not though.

Did the dev's put up information about taking away the RDR in the changelogs before the update? I know they dont put tell everything before an update, but is information like that something they would let people know before it comes out?
I know there was a changelog for the removal of Timed Aggression, I don't specifically recall one for RDR but i'm almost certain there is one. If not, well it's either directly talked with through the community (discord - Calamity-mod-talk) or I get info slightly faster on account of talking to beta testers and stuff just comes up in casual conversation. I don't get any spoilers though, i'm still in the dark as far as information that is concealed, the most of what I get is the same info, it's just harder to find. (EX biome blade having said spoilers of being reworked, but no idea as to what it was reworked into.)

Huh. I know there was a ton of complaining, but I wonder why they got rid of it after all.
Because as I stated, it was a DPS check mechanic, something that limits creativity and essentially has the boss holding up a middle finger to those who are willing to sequence break.
EX: You kill aquatic scourge in pre-hardmode. Those weapons won't do more damage to Skeletron than the Starfury. See the problem?

I mean it's possible, but I doubt fabsol gets jealous like that. It's not in his personality.
I'd really prefer if Calamity stayed away from that style. It's just really weird to me, and part of me liking the game in the first place is that it acted more like vanilla than other mods.
i dont get this fandom, when starlight river got released everyone is like "Oh Calamity is bad now,this is good, calamity doesnt stand a chance to this" and when calamity devs make something that can somewhat stand up with the recent mods everyone just goes "They're just jealous of starlight river and split" like honestly wth

@@MrJFL I'm the guy that resprited and reworked the whole weapon line, and i'm litterally good friends with people from both mods lmao. Hell, I litterally designed multiple enemies for slr and helped them with ceiros' visual direction.
Don't assume its jealousy when in reality a lot of modders in this community know each others and are on good terms with one another. I love split and slr and I just did the reworks because I felt like it'd be cool for some of the older cal content to get modernized a bit to be more up to par with the awesome standards raised by other peeps in the community 👍

I somewhat agree, but the only thing we can do is wait and see what their ambition is. We don't know if this style is weapon specific or will eventually be tied to multiple weapons.
