This brought back memories of our reality here in Northern Ireland back in the 70s and 80s. It was normal to see soldiers patrolling the streets. And today i was working in Belfast (Gary Moore's hometown) and its just like any other Cosmopolitan city.. crazy times back then. Great reaction as usual guys.
Originally by Free. Gary Moore had Neil Carter (UFO/Wild Horses) on guitar/keys, Bob Daisley (Ozzy Osbourne/Uriah Heep/Black Sabbath) bass and Paul Thompson (Roxy Music) drums in that show. Talking about Wild Horses. They released two albums. Love their second one called Stand Your Ground from 1981. Brian Robertson (Thin Lizzy/Motorhead) guitar, Jimmy Bain (Rainbow/Dio/Phil Lynott) bass/keys/vocals, John Lockton (Victory) guitar and Clive Edwards drums. Check out songs like I'll Give You Love, In The City, Another Lover and Miami Justice
@@sparpant Thank for correcting me. Of course it's Bob Daisley. My mistake. Gary Moore switched his musicians quite of in the early 80's. I had also been checking out his 1984 live album We Want Moore. It had Craig Gruber on bass RIP
@@thunderspike1892 Right up until the end, it was a rare year where the lineup of his band didn’t change so I don’t blame you for losing track! The rock family trees of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow and Gary Moore band are vast and massively intertwined.
In the early 80s the Strat was Gary’s main guitar although he would play a Les Paul Jr too. He then switched to Floyd Rose equipped super-Strats like Hamers, Jacksons and Charvels from 85 onwards. The “Greeny” Les Paul would typically only be used for “Parisienne Walkways” at the end of gigs. Les Pauls then became his go to guitars when he entered his blues period although Strats, Teles, Gibson semi-hollows and Explorers were also used. I think he just liked getting new guitars!
I do believe that Dei has seen many artists in his time, but I've heard that he never did get to see Gary Moore live, and that he regrets that... Such sorrow...
Gary Moore was an absolute beast on the guitar. Most exciting player I ever saw back in the 80s. Incredible.

Gary Moore was a phenomenal musician with great songs. My personal favorite is "Over the Hills and far Away"
In my opinion.. (Opinion). Gary Moore was one of the best and most entertaining guitarists ever,
Up there with Jeff Healey and S,R,V also a few others
this is so much better then the original. Gary Moore is the best
I had the VHS tape of this show. Still a legend for me.
😁I had this on VHS too.👍
That whole concert was amazing - my favourite is Shapes of Things, from it.
This whole concert is brilliant. You should probably just react to each track on this video!!

It was Bob Daisley on bass for Gary’s December 1984 gigs in Belfast and Dublin.

Not often you see Gary playing a Strat he usually plays a Gibson Les Paul

This is a FREE song written by the fabulous PAUL RODGERS AND ANDY FRASER. the one down side is Gary can't sing like Paul, but then again few can.
So good
In the 80s his music was somewhat political motivated, some like end of the world, militaryman etc..
