This show was so good, I was interested in like 90% of the things announced. RE 4 looks great, RE8 VR is probably gonna be amazing, Horizon VR looks great, Stray looks great, SF6 looks great, Tunic on PS5, FF16 looks great... So many games to buy this next year

I am so excited for The Callisto Protocol more than anything! It looks so good. Also super excited for Resident Evil 4 Remake as the original is one of my favourite games ever.
I am super hyped for another new way to play RE4. However, doesn't it feel like Code Veronica needed a remake more? RE4 is still a perfectly playable gem by modern standards.

Ngl, I loved the whole show but got the most hyped at the Forbidden West new game+ shadowdrop. I've been waiting for that since, like, 3/4s of my way through my first playthrough (loved how the map evolved over the course of the game and wanted to re-experience it with that context). Plus I literally just finished Cyberpunk last night and didn't know what to play next

This was the best State of Play in a long time. Top 3! I am definitely grabbing half of what they showed. Final Fantasy XVI is bittersweet... but it will be worth the wait. Definitely is looking like FF7R Part 2 will be 2024 and maybe Part 3 2027.

When you think about it, RE4 Remake was probably started way before they started on the DLC. RE8 DLC really seemed like they only thought about it after the game had launched.

To anyone that says “RE4 doesn’t even need a remake” I have to wonder if you’ve done the math on how long it’s been since RE4. It’s been over 17 years. OVER 17 YEARS! It was 3 console generations ago. It’s been long enough. I’d say the PS5 is a pretty damn significant leap over the PS2/Gamecube, and 17 years is enough time to reach an entire new generation of players that either were not alive when the original came out, or they were wearing diapers. Also the series as a whole is a lot more mainstream than it was in 2005 so even without the younger players this will have a lot more reach than the original ever had. It’s time.

I am extremely hyped for the games but not at all for the playstation. Only 4 games hitting the system this year, one has been out for a while now (tunic) then two indies coming to pc (rollerdrome and stray) and Callisto Protocol also multiplatform. Again, stoked for the games, but nothing is being a system seller for me. I want to stress that I am not trying to diminish folks excitement for the PS5.
Yeah we live in a really dry console era. Not many games being released in ps5 and Xbox. I think switch has Constant releases. That being Sad i Still could not finish Elden Ring (plus 90 hours) and i a have returnal and spider man on the backlog. Time is limited unfortunatly.

Not Very amused by the Path SF6 will take. They doubled down on the ART and concept of 5 that i didn't enjoy in first place. Too many colours and graffiti. Looks like Splatoon fighter.

It took them years of effort, but Sony has finally made the first good/interesting State of Play. Even most of the games I didn’t care about were at least interesting in some way. Based on their deathly boring track record, I don’t expect this quality to become a trend, but here’s hoping!
boring state of play really we knew about all these games to be honest. re4 I have played that so many times in different systems I don't give a crap anymore. calisto looked good but just a dead space reskin, vr2 games looked dumb, stray looked fantastic tho and the highlight was ff16 so good and back to the medieval roots. also I don't see why spiderman needs a remaster this was a cash grab just because it's Sony's number 1 best selling ps4 game.

Callisto Protocol stole the show, finally an amazing looking AAA horror.
Coming back here after the summer games fest. Wild how this 30 min showing had a much more massive impact.

It’ll be interesting to see if they’re going to make it as good as the original or worse. But I doubt it can be better. RE4 has aged like a fine wine.
