I have the following question which will help me a lot with my thesis: how do I motivate the use of linear regression, given that the final variables introduced are still categorical of some sort? they are not continuous for sure. I do want to use linear regression, where my data is normally distributed, but how can I prove that I can do this? Thanks a lot, would appreciate your response.

What is your hypotheses for how the variables interact? The analysis has no context without understanding that. This is more of an excel tutorital than a data analysis explanation. And why wouldn't you just do =AVERAGE instead of manually adding and dividing?
