Do you believe lion diet is a healthy diet for everyone? I lost my gallbladder about 6 months ago and now my body doesn’t digest animal fat well. Also, what about supplements such as iodine? Do you use supplements on lion diet?
@@grannyrsh5553 I only use individual approximate supplements. Ie if someone needs more iodine then yes, but to supplement with iodine when someone doesn’t need it is actually dangerous, as it’s one of the supplements that can do serious harm when taken in excess. So yes to individually appropriate supplements. When it comes to the gallbladder, the liver still produces bile and will increase its production over time, the key for those without a gallbladder is, pattern eating. Eat the same way everyday, and then slowly increase the fat content and your liver will work to match what you eat. Personally I think that all diets, whether it’s low carb, keto, carnivore, GAPS, Lions etc need to be tweaked and adjusted for everyone.
Regarding iodine supplementation I would love to refer you to both Dr. Elizabeth Bright and Dr. David Brownstein. Both are skilled in the use of iodine and great educators on this topic. Hi Anita & Christina... thanks for all your input today... Anita knows I have been about 95% Carnivore for the past six years. I know I have extreme insulin resistance. I did not lose any weight in these six years, at times going a full month very strict Carnivore. So... I gave up now and I am consuming water only... Day 4 today, of only water and I have not yet gone into ketosis... this is how my body works... I don't know how long I can go on water but I am hoping to get to New Year's day to break my fast... This is the only way I can lose any weight and I don't want to live anymore as a grossly obese person... Also when I went on lion diet I also did not lose any weight nor when I did high fat, or low fat, or OMAD... Really in six years I tried every possible combination and nothing worked.

@@ChristinaMathewsonNaturopath Thank you for your reply. I am in Canada and my own Doctor retired so now I don't have one and it is impossible to get a new Doctor here right now. So, I have not had any recent blood tests. I will be 80 on my next Birthday. I have not been on any medications since 2011. I am on day 5 of my water fast and plan to do 55 days this time. Geat interview, I enjoyed this a lot. Bought some lamb stew chunks from the store, looking for ideas of what to do with them besides stew. They look like they have a lot of fat, good, but worried they'll be tough if not slow cooked. Thoughts?
@@garden753 boiled lamb is fantastic, I just made some yesterday and it helps make it really tender.. put the meat in a pot, add water so it's about an inch above the meat.. add salt, bring to a boil, scrape off the scum that rises to the surface and then simmer for about 4 hrs.. the meat will be extremely tender and you'll have some fantastic meat stock as well!
@@motojay81 This is great I will try that. I tried to fry a few pieces at lunch, it was tender, but the fat blackened quickly :( I will try boiling next, now do you eat it... like a soup, or just the boiled pieces drained? I really like lamb, but so not a cook and inventive.
Braised lamb is tender and good. Either in a braising pan or cast iron skillet, sear the lamb chunks in tallow or other animal fat. Then cover tightly either with a lid or tightly with foil and let it bake slowly in the oven at 300F for 3-4 hours.
@@garden753 you can do it either way.. sometimes I use an immersion blender to blend all the meat into the soup after I've removed the bones, other times, I eat the meat and just drink the broth.. I am down 80lbs since switching to low carb to keto, to carnivore, and finally over the last two weeks to lion diet. I was wondering why my progress has slowed significantly, and all of this makes sense. I still see psoriasis recur occasionally but it self resolves in a couple days without medication, so that's progress. And my total alopecia has started to resolve. I am seeing hairs show up on my body/face. The progress is slower than I'd like but I get it.. there's still plenty of healing left to do!
@@theresaherfindahl5781 I personally track my macro sometimes. If things aren’t working, I definitely check, if things are working I keep doing what’s working. Fasting while, I advocate fed fasting more than water fasting or dry fasting for women, as the majority of women I work with have insulin resistance and water fasting in that group, tends to increase glucose and stress hormones rather than lowering it. Lions diet for example is a fed fast. Where your putting your body in the biochemical state of fasting while not limiting the nutritional resources that the body needs when healing and rebuilding.
While on Lion Diet? I don't personally although I might randomly enter my day in cronometer out of curiousity. Fasting is just something that happens naturally for me based on hunger or really no hunger, never something i do on purpose.

Well the healing is great news and it doesn't always happen at the same time as the weight loss. It took me 3 years of carnivore to be ready for lion, others can jump right in out of the gate. You will know when you are ready!
You sound like me, but I’ve only been on it since January. Carnivore. I was going to go do something completely different but I know that carbs inflame me. Then I remembered the Lion diet. It’s time for me to do Lion.

Seek out Anna Maria from ItalianGoneCarnivore. She has lipedema that she is healing with carnivore. Make sure your daughter is not taking collagen or eating too much fat.
This will vary person to person depending on what particular issues you have. For healing purposes, I would go with a minimum of 1 to 1 ratio. So if you eat 100 macro grams of protein, also eat 100 macro grams of fat. If you have any cognitive or neurological issues, minimum of 2 to 1 ratio, 200g fat to 100 g protein (as an example).
