  • We discuss why an implant would fail and how this is done, the video does include scenes of surgery. Viewer discretion advised. A dental implant on the upper jaw needed to be removed due to infection. The implant was removed under local anaesthetic. The upper all on 4 bridge was reduced in size and will be supported by just 3 implants for the next 4 months. After a 4 month healing period we will place another implant and allow this to heal for a further 4 months.
Eventually the upper all on 4 bridge will be supported on the previous 3 implants plus the new implant on the upper right side (posterior)
Please feel free to ask questions, for more information about our clinic www.brightonimplantclinic.co.uk

Thank you and I’m glad I found your video. It’s made my issue a little easier to understand. I have 5 failed implants. I fell out and I nearly chocked. It fell out complete. What you also mentioned about around the teeth (up and down shows gum loss. Possibly in my case it could even be insufficient artificial bone that wasn’t packed enough, I’ll get a second opinion as not knowing how to read an X-ray is frustrating.

Hi Joy, if you have gum bone loss due to infected calculus around the implant within the bone, regular deep cleaning won't do much. EMS airflow perio clean may stop it from deteriorating further. A modern laser procedure called LANAP will not only kill the bacteria but will encourage (not guarantee) new bone growth. That is your last option before removal.

@@ohmyjesus89 sorry to hear you are having to resort to litigation, and I certainly don't want to pry in your business. You may want to try adding a fine salt or sodium bicarbonate with the water circulating through your waterpic. I have finally reversed my periodontal gum bone loss after years of regular scaling and deep root planing. I then tried working with a dentist that used the Mark Bonner method. It certainly slowed down the bone loss. Then I found a dental hygienist that using a new cleaning method using EMS airflow technology with an attachment for deep perio cleaning. Its relatively painless and costs same as regular cleaning but does a better job. Finally, before losing my second molar (excluding wisdom teeth), I tried LANAP laser that replaces gum flap surgery but without cutting or bleeding and virtually painless. This laser has also been successfully used in restoring loose infected implants ruclips.net/video/9wY6CzW624Q/видео.html

removing an implant is not too difficult, because it has failed the amount of bone holding the implant in place is reduced so removal is usually quite straight forward. Your dentist may want to use some stitches to close the small hole once the implant is removed. In some cases it can be left without stitches as the hole is very small. if you need any further advice please let me know

I have a question, although I saw 2 oral surgeons already...
I have always had an issue with an extremely strong bite.
I did an implant 7 months ago, after being with a flipper for a very long time (had no problem with the flipper..)
I did the mistake of my life.
I regret doing the implant every single moment, want to remove it.
X-Ray and CT scan show a healthy Implant with a good engle.
The oral surgeons told me removing it will bring bad consequences which be much worse then what I have now..
I am desperate to do something, desperate to remove it but I am not sure my mouth will ever be the same.
Is there any suggestion for me?
If I would know before I would never do an implant..

    • @BrunoSilva-ox2es

usually this would only happen if you had an infection associated around an implant, the age of the implant would not necessarily have any effect.

Do you replace a failed implant that you had placed, without charging an additional fee?

    • @BrunoSilva-ox2es
      @BrunoSilva-ox2es 2 месяца назад

that would depend on the type of failure and reasons for failure. If an implant fails during the initial implant placement phase ie within the first 12 months of placing then we would replace the implant at no charge. However in some cases when the implant fails after a few years then we would discuss the reasons for failure with the patient ie smoking, failure of maintaining oral hygiene, not attending regular reviews with the dentist then unfortunately the patient would need to contribute towards the cost of an implant replacement

I went Tuesday to my dentist and got a X-ray he put me on antibiotics. I’ve had a hard time coming up with the 8k for the permanent one. It hurts to try to put any pressure on the one implant.
