Just found your channel and all the great information! I’m at 5 years with snap in lower mini implants and had a dentist that was all around terrible. I’m definitely in early stages of implant failure, mainly because the dentist just did the surgery and sent me out the door without even any discharge instructions about after care. I had no idea I should’ve been getting them cleaned every six months. I think we have the idea that since we have fake teeth, we no longer need to visit the dentist. Like many of us, I made the mistake of not doing my homework ahead of time and only afterwards did I do the research I should’ve done first.
My advice is Don’t rush into something that’s going to be with you the rest of your life, especially as important as your smile and ability to eat healthy, make the investment to do it right. Thanks for taking time sharing your experience and knowledge informing others on these important topics!

Everyone should know this. My experience with screw in titanium implants for a 4 on 1 denture did not go smoothly. Yes, I am a smoker. They advised me that there was a 10% chance that that might have an effect on it. I tried wearing the denture after 8 months when they said to. They said you have to wear it. It felt nice for awhile. But soon got uncomfortable and could not wear it. What felt like a toothache was an infection of one of the front implants. I went to my local dentist to check it out. Got antibiotics for it, but it was too late. That implant had to be removed at my cost of course. The point of this post is to tell all that have this done is to be sure the implants have completely healed, completely binded with the bone. For me it took 2 years. I believe even microscopic movements of the implants from the denture invites bacteria in before they are fully healed into the bone.

Its brcause these money motivated butchers are pushing implant on people with underlying perio issues, people need to start holding these jokers accountable. Considering what they cost and the piss poor success rates. If it isnt obvious those people who need implants are largely those with perio issues to start with, so how can someone in good conscious recommend something that will likely fail because of having a rotting mouth.

The sad thing is. Implants are mainly used to replace moalers, & insurance companies have kicked the boot for mainly everyone. The policy standard is if the tooth is already missing, then it's not covered, so once a moaler is pulled before anyone actually gets insurance the entire process is out of pocket to you. & Implants aren't affordable because the post is on average $2200, & then there are fees to have your dentist design a crown for it, also the cost of the crown. A single implant will set you back at least $4,000 out of pocket, so in truth attempting to save even the worse moalers with a root canal & crown covered heaftly by the insurance you're already paying for is better than giving it up & paying several months pay later for it. Basically if your ever change or lose the insurance at the time of the extraction, you're screwed out of having it covered. 50% is 50%, & it's better than chucking loads of cash away if something doesn't work out. Realistically you're paying $10k to have perfect straight teeth that can be whitened & cleaned easily before you're 30. In my case I lost two moalers at once, & was advised by several dentist to have the latter removed, & the other one next to my wisdom teeth crowned. Unfortunately, my wisdom teeth had to go, & now I got a loan crown with no help in chewing with a missing moaler on my bottom left. Once I asked for a quote, & did some research, I realized I can't get braces until that area gets an implant, along with pulling more teeth to make room for straightening. Also, my fillings don't last, & that puts me more at risk of losing more teeth. 13 cavities. The reality is. Brush after every meal, & if you aren't. Be prepared for the circumstances. The food we eat is packed full of preservatives & sugars, & all it does is wear down our enamel... I seriously can't believe how every dentist always asks me are you gonna get an implant for that, & I'm like, maybe when pigs fly? It's a crook businesses, & my God do I wish I had an extra $10,000 sitting around to fix my teeth~

I got 8 ultratooth implants put in last September. I'm currently having issues with my incisive papilla and the implant next to it. It's sensitive and throbs throughout the day. I went to the inventor himself to get my work done and will be going back tomorrow for a check up.i hope everything is OK and it's something simple going on. Great video BTW.

Good informational video. I just had an implant put in on Dec 5th and it just fell out this afternoon. I didn't feel any discomfort or pain it just fell out and lucky I didn't swallow it. It's unfortunate by I contacted my dentist and he is out of state until after the holidays but wants me to start antibiotics immediately and I'll see him after the holidays. I have had two other implants with no issues and the dentist always comments that I have a large healthy bone structure. I know a certain percentage fail and since it is an early failure I hope it can be corrected.
    Thanks again for the video.

The problem is you dentists are putting implants in peoples mouths with serious perio issues. Why else would a person need an implant unless they had serious perio issues. Oh im sure on occasion some gets a tooth knocked out that isnt savable but the majoritu are people with serious perio issues and its criminal that you are not addressing the underlying issues before you ever consider recommending implants. I have one implant i got many years ago that is barely hanging on to what little bone i have left, im looking at laser perio surgery to try to address the isssues i have periodontally now at 55 years old and i can not tell you how many dentist through the years i have went to wouldnt even try to save my teeth said they were hopeless and yet all my back teeth were root canalled and crowned and they are all still there. I dont buy the failure rate numbers you are claiming they are far far higher failure rates than a few %. Pretty sad i had considered going to Costa Rica for dental treatment because i could find a dentist here in the US i could afford or trust just so i could keep my teeth.

My mom is 77 years old the rest of her teeth. Are her own. If you see dentist every six months. Who knows what they are doing. Maintain the implant there will be no problem. My mom has saw the same dentist for 28 years. Find someone who knows what they are doing.
