Derek, I'm missing you doing videos too. I did not fully understand the pressure imbalance between the two tanks. I saw you swung the caps. How did that go? My issue is that I have air in my sub tank ( behind the pilot) and it will not dissipate. We all have three feet of head on the sub tank from the wing tanksso we have pressure even with some air, I get it. I'm only doing strip runs at the minute until the AP comes to check my plane, but I'm getting air forming in that sub tank as it's scares the hell out of me. I'd start run with almost no air in the sub tank, finish 20 minute run with like 1 1/2" of air in the sub tank Any advice? I checked Facebook. No clear answer.
Hi Nic We had the same, but once you fly at different attitudes, the air will shake its way out and go away. The tank will also swell a bit. The caps determined which tank would drain first (next video). I suspect one wasn’t 100% sealed, creating a low pressure in that tank, causing the other tank to drain first. I plan to tighten the nut on the bottom and see what happens on the next flight.
