"On my way to work", That is a commute I would love to have!
Use your mirrors, check your shoulder - best advice ever, no matter what slow street or fast road you are on.
last time I checked my shoulders were pretty handsome.
@Tom Silverheart (Getting a full look around yourself) Two checks: #1 as he said, look into your mirror drop your shoulder and have a look behind you, without having to turn your head #2 turn your head and look down your shoulder behind you
@Tom Silverheart life saver
Don't be so stupid he dint even check his shoulder for half of the corners in that video. Ŵhat a joke check your mirrors at 180mph fuck off twats
Realtime commentary! - that is a brilliant form - just a great way of getting a really close up understanding of what bikers and racers are dealing with - not even a biker myself, yet fascinated by the TT the bikes and the Isle - love it !!
What a great video, sensible but fast and enjoyable. So simple. Well done sir!!!!!
watch out for super car drivers...they tend to be not very quick and do stupid things...Lol avid description of almost every car driver! ;)
Have you got a super car by any chance
Imagine if they had softer suspension that could actually handle the road in a manageable way lol
A lotus Carlton would beat the AVRG super car around here with the same driver
I watched this and funny enough the next day I'm pretty sure I followed you around the coast until just before the mountain. Your yokes stood out and its an old school Kwak
No way! 😁😁
Small world eh (and a tiny island 😂)
Brilliant and very informative. First time i went over my mate said don't ride beyond your own limits. Sound advice.
I'm not a biker, though I might have been! Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Looking out in front, and the mirror rule should be imperative to all drivers of whatever, and whatever speed. Driving instructors take note! Looking forward to more.
Another excellent guide & essential advice given there, Blake. Top lad. Too many idiots launch themselves over The Mountain without familiarising themselves with the road first - & are seemingly oblivious to the fact that it's a road and NOT a controlled race track. Have a great fortnight bab & keep those vids comin'. 😉
Just need people to be a bit smarter about it 😁
Already been 5 incidents that have closed the mountain 👎🏻
Thankyou, I’ll keep everyone that hasn’t come over updated 😄
@@UnrestrictedIsle It'll help to keep us going 'til we get over again 👍 Oh, and wish me luck in the scramble for the dreaded ferry-booking lottery in the morning! 😬
Missy Dee I hope you got sorted 😄
@@UnrestrictedIsle I did! Sunday to Sunday (Race Week). Oh, & I'll be bringin' the sunshine with me too 👍
Missy Dee Fantastic 😁😁
Riding behind some riders who spend more time checking thier mirrors then looking where there going, to me it's dangerous. At the speeds that some people on big bikes go it doesn't matter how many times you check your mirrors you won't see them, concentrate on your own riding, I'm not saying don't check your mirrors at all just not to excess. Remember It's a race track for 2 weeks. Still a great video mate.
Definitely needs to be the middle ground
You’d be disgusted at the footage us locals have got from riders completely oblivious to what’s on their tail (more often than not a car that’s about to overtake and has to take evasive action)
People just cut right with no warning and seemingly blind 👎🏻
We need to spread a message of safety before the government just put speed limits up 🤢
Legend has it use your mirrors
Ramsey's Hairpin was indeed the only place I got stopped in two weeks. The police didn't like me doing 40 in a 30 zone - but as soon as he breathalised me and it read '0' he was happy as Larry, gave me a brief overview of the different speeds on different sections of the (immediate) course then sent me on my way with a smile and nothing else.
Our officers really are ace - they know when people are taking the P and will hit them hard, but for regular folk they're very human!
Wow...GREAT 1st person vid! Would be a blast to ride
Great, accurate, helpful commentary. Nice vid, nicely put together.
Glad it was helpful!
I went to TT 2023 - my first one. Can't wait to go back. Loved riding the course but the Mountain is positively sketchy - you're pushing your skills then people fly past you inside and out. Spent more time checking my mirrors on that stretch than anywhere else. I managed a respectable, relative to my current skill set, 130mph out of my 2001 Kawasaki Zx6R. Rode it a few times and got lucky as the a couple of times i went over it was pretty clear.
You absolutely have to! Things go wrong when you go past your personal limits and with local riders and drivers that use that road as a playground every chance they get theres a good chance of someone approaching fast. Never mind when Peter Hickman is out on a road bike...
Great vid that’s my mate your chasing. Fastest fazer I’ve ever seen 😂😂
No way!
He made my morning - still the only mountain run I’ve got so far 😅
@@UnrestrictedIsle was a well nice run on the Fazer to start my TT week. So jealous this is your commute. Great vid tbh...keep pushing the use of mirrors.
Been over that bit many many times you were shifting a bit there fella well done !!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome vid, how the brain can cope with all that speed is unbelievable. 👍🏼
It definitely took a while to get up to speed!
Excellent! Spot on video with good advice. Could have done with this last year before the Classic! Even though I've been across before, info like this is very valuable. Keep up the great work! Al
Jesus Christ mate, you and that guy in front of you have some balls 👏🏻
Why thank you. Love it and so does the Fazer. By chance I got caught on camera. Lol
Bloody enjoying that sipping away at my coffee milky. Makes you want to go ride though. Weather is shite here in Wales....where the hell is summer🤗😩think that's earned a sub. Great advice MIRRORS MIRRORS MIRRORS....I see loads of guys on the road simply just changing it and pulling out without the obligatory shoulder check smh....have a wonderful day chap🇬🇧from sunny South Wales😎
Respect you rode well my friend Ive done it a few times over there and you can get carried away. Well done great video..
use your mirrors ,chack your shoulders....that is the wise advice for anyone testing their...euuu...talent on the mountain course...especially if you really need to use the opposite lane.there's always a chance you get catch'ed up by the lambo guys who is crushing the throttle pedal on the straight, first thing you know is he stay quiet in the dead angle.check your mirror, check your shoulders...best way to keep the rubbers in contact with the tarmac lol
I don't really comprehend how do you even accelerate that fast when carrying that huge steel balls you have...
Awesome vid!
Great way to start the day! Mirrors all the time, spot on advice, he isn't joking no matter if you think you are McPint there is always someone faster and stupid who will be overtaking undertaking you name it :) This is sound advice take heed. These vlogs essential to watch in my opinion. Great Job.
Thankyou!
As always great vid you should post this up on the facebook pages and Charlies
Lots of nicely trimmed bushes
Another good guide, and just at the right time too! I'll be there in four days :-)
Good luck!
thankyou for giving me space on the mountain unlike the bike ahead
sincerely - the van driver XD
ill always keep to the left if theirs traffic behind me
What a great video mate! Everything about it was spot on!
Awesome video! Going back through all your channel since subbing last night, when the corona is all over we really get over and ride the mountain roads! Would be cool to make some cross channel content dude!
Sounds like a plan 😁 Digging your man cave setup, watching the video now 👌
@@UnrestrictedIsle ah nice! thanks, it was a good project for us to do over winter.
Will be checking all your vids out while locked down, great content you've got, that high side looked savage too! 🙈
Great advise well said mirrors at all time
Great advice. Wish more visitors (and locals) would take heed. One massive thing I would stress to people is not to undertake and be patient.
Absolutely, it’s an open road sometimes you get a free run sometimes you don’t - it’s just how it is 😁
Great video and advice. I loved you flashing up the Xbox game, haha! That's the only way I know it and even though it's laser scanned in the game, it looks so different in the flesh. Cheers mate.
I don’t think a game or a video will ever really capture it 😁
@@UnrestrictedIsle Me neither! It would help a bit tho for a tootle round ;)
Video quality is spot on.
What a f*cking amazing commute to work
Lovely video. Well done
great riding. safe and fast. I love the IOM !!
Another cracking video, and great advice 👍🏼
9:19 the guy isn't doing anything wrong. He's probably aware that there's no vehicles catching him up from behind so he's positioned to the offside for the best view around the corner.
On the right hander?
I get your point, it’s definitely how to ride on narrow roads to open up lines of sight, but in this case he’s barely over the line coming back into 33rd
I use the same principles in my canyon runs here in SoCal😎🤙💨🏁
Sick speed mate
OMFG! "you just got to stay calm" 30 sec later you're doing 255kmh 😎
Loved it👍
I really enjoyed your channel friend, really something rare and special today.
Just one thing, I know the TT mountain section is great, but sometimes I would like to see you on some beautiful mountain road, a nice mix, not just fast straights and bends.
I'm sure there is much more on that island, show us!
Thankyou for the kind words 😁
There certainly is - stay tuned... that will require waiting until the temporary speed limits and TT traffic leaves 👍
Excellent video. On your way to work after this.pmsl
Cheers!
It’s certainly one hell of a commute 😆
Nice work. Can't wait for more. Cheers and be safe.
I would really like to drive on iom now!
Good Guy!
Oooooohhhhhhhhh thank you you lucky man i miss tt week great videos wooooooooo
That'd be my ideal commute route lol
Would love to have a "stretch of road" like that between home and my work place
Great info, thanks
Well done, very informative, never been there, so thanks
Star man have a safe great time enjoy
Thanks for watching 😁 Have a great day!
Brilliantly informative video sir!
Even watching with makes me nervous been.over last year and seen a guy cone.off in front me at 100 plus
Unless it is designated an official race I would put speed cameras along the whole route.
Are you a cop?
Nope!
Great vid very informative.
Get it on, like Donkey Kong!!!!
This video really makes me sad. I went to the IOM nearly every year throughout the 80's and compared to then, there are now so many additional restrictions on the mountain section. Back in the day it was fully unrestricted all the way from the hairpin to signpost corner and not a cone in sight. Only on Mad Sunday did they cone the Keppel Hotel corner.
The slight hump that is part way down the creg at 10:19 on this video was a little sharper too and you could easily get most bikes on the back wheel at anything over 130mph, even a heavy tourer Only the very skilful or brave would keep the throttle pinned. Keep it flat out down the creg and hammer on the brakes at the Keppel Gate Hotel, power through the 90 degree bend and pin the throttle to the on the way to Brandish....aaah, those were the days.
The circuit for visitors feels castrated nowadays. sad, sad, sad....
Speak like Jeremy Clarkson.
This must be the best commute.....in the world. 🤣🤣
What's your favourite spot to sit and watch the TT from?
It’s really hard to pick one! Rhen Cullen jump blew my mind and Guthrie’s was almost surreal - hassle to get there but with a view of so many corners and an incredible backdrop... As long as you’re prepared, the best spot for me is one I haven’t been to before, preferably in a bush right next to the racing line 😁
Good info! bud.
Great advice as usual mate 👍🏻 what’s the quickest way back to Ramsey after going over the mountain and getting to the Creg? 2 days to go and counting the hours 😎
Down the creg back road and along the coast, it’s all 50 tops but you can just filter past everything. Stick to the limits though, coppers love the speed traps round there
Unrestricted Isle cheers 👍🏻 there’s no need for speeding on the iom with all unrestricted roads so all is good 👍🏻
Nice vid .., thanks for sharing
what are the one way road closure times on the mountain on MadSunday?
Unless Saturdays racing can’t run and gets moved to Sunday - then the mountain won’t close… unless someone crashes and they have to shut it for a bit 😁
@@UnrestrictedIsle Thanks for the reply. Great level headed advice on this post! ++
great vid
Nice riding. Whats the model Kawasaki your riding?
It’s a bit of a Frankenstein - G2 zx6r, J plastics and an A1P motor 😄
Unrestricted Isle-letthegoodtimesroll
@@UnrestrictedIsle I knew it wasn't a 9 due to the slightly different top yolk and the locknut location for the clipons, the 9 has them beneath the yolk making them a pita. Nice vid, no doubt the numpties who don't bother with mirrors up there will be closing the roads all through the event.
fornicateu2 you say that, the track 600 has them underneath - it’s odd!
Yeah it’s going to happen, 3 RTC’s today already - hopefully the number will drop though 🤞
@@UnrestrictedIsleI'm not too familiar with the 6 but on my second nine in ten years now and still loving it, such a stable road bike just like its predecessor the GPZ900R which I rode over there in 89/90 and even though it was no longer a contender for racing there I only got passed on the mountain two up by a bloke on a GSRX 1100, though to be fair I had a great pillion, a very light chap called Lev who I forgot all about when we went riding. Have fun. Its the exuberance of youth unfortunately and I was exactly the same back in the late 80's as I shared my digs with Steve Hislop at a mutual friend's home on the island. Not so many cones or island police trying to make money out of the public back then but still lots of accidents before and after racing, mostly Germans back then for some strange reason, probably trying to prove Germans were the best but sadly they weren't and still aren't. lol
Is that a zx-9?
Bike ?
amazing
I love having to rip to my mates in Ramsey then back. 33rd by far my favourite flat 6th love it
You drive like 007, Who are you working for?
I'm so confused, are these open roads? If so, are these speeds allowed? The only time I've ever seen driving like this on open roads is when there's a police car with their lights on following closely behind lmfao.
Open roads, Unrestricted limit
Unrestricted Isle That's actually insane, must require a ton of guts to be able to do this. Are the roads always unrestricted or is it just for the race weekend?
JordanWoodland I guess you just get used to it
It’s actually less restricted outside of racing events - there’s no 50 at the start and no 60 at the end. But it is two way 😁
awesome
I'm heading over next year what time was it when you were out. Seems quiet
This was Saturday around 8:15, there wasn’t many bikes over on island at that point
Thank You !
I wasn't too bothered about ever riding the mountain myself, just watching would be enough. Not anymore..
Just has to be done 😁
what bike is this
A1P zx6r
👍
nice commute you have there lol
Is it just! 😁
Not 'alf! If Carlsberg did commutes... 😍
Are you Conor Cummins
Wish i had even half the talent of Connor!
check your mirrors, are you riding the 2000 model zx9r great bike.
The top yolk is different to my 2002 E2 model so I was thinking it was a ZX6R.
@@fornicateu2 It has the same head stock as my zx9r C1.but this one has E model nose cone
@@MikeWhite-kt7hz Yeah, I know a couple of C owners who changed to the double headlight nose, I've got F2 forks/headstock/brakes/mudguard fitted on this E2, a ZX10R 05 rear shock in there too, its my second 9r, put 90k miles up on the first and DVLA scrapped it when the frame cracked, so I bought another to use up a few spares.
Tqvm bro...for your video..✌✌
u ever try to qualify just cuse your there if not you should home field advantage ;-) good vids too
I’m hoping to get a go in a few years - only just got my ACU Novice licence 😁
nice i hope its sooner then later for you isle is a a bucket list for me i dont know if my ccs/wera stuff would help me any but ill hopefully try some day
What bike you on?
Yamaha Fazer
The frankenkawasaki
G2 zx6r with J2 facelift and an A1P motor
Haven't been for years and don't think I'll bother after watching that. Too many cones and too many coppers. Used to be leave Ramsey hairpin and pin it.
Then again it was also 2 way when I last went and the foreigners were always causing wrong side of the road carnage.
1000sofusernames- you can always try the manx gp again
Awful pity you couldnt catch the Fazer....
Using indicators at 120 plus. Habit eh
Got to give myself every chance - plus, there might be something behind me at 180!
Great video, and well needed just now I think, more and more brainless people trying to set a new record
Using blinker at over 200+ kmh
Thats only 120 mph, 30 years ago I was hitting 150's up there and these days there'll be folk on 200 mph hardware so yes you need to see whats coming up on you when you're taking it easy up there.
fornicateu2 Well 150 makes it better
@@porschet5898 Thats MPH by the way, when men were men and Japanese bikes had just started to handle lol.
fornicateu2 I know that buddy
Well that's stupid I'm not going to look in my mirrors ag 150mph that's just dangerous. That's what some manx locals were having a go at me when I was there in 2016. They said to look in your mirrors and I replied with the same thing. No way am I doing that at 150mph on straights and 120 on bends that's how accidents happen.
If you are so close to the edge of your capability that you can’t maintain full situational awareness, you shouldn’t be riding that fast.
Have a go heroes thinking they’re fast then blindly changing lanes is what causes accidents…
@UnrestrictedIsle absolute rubbish the fact it is unrestricted causes a recipe for disaster and that is why you belong in racing or think you belong in racing shall we say hence your manx gp entry has been denied you are not even good enough to make that let alone a TT. Sit down, be quiet and sit in your little house in ramsay little boy. What a moronic comment 🙄🙄
Like your videos but seriously indicating at 150mph absolutely pointless mate 🙄🙄
Says the guy who can't even get an entry to the manx. Do one mate you are clueless
Closed roads =\= open roads
@@UnrestrictedIsle not quite sure what you are on about tbh
What was idiotic about cutting in front of that van? How could you see what he was seeing? Jesus. Holier than thou springs to mind.
Should be a limit on the mountain. How many wankers have splat themselves over the years. Lads thinking there micheal Dunlop
Great tutorial
Is that a zx9?
