It was well made but I was so pissed off near the end there, wishing my character could muggle-punch him to bring his sanity back and to start listening to his friends and sister.
For me personally, Poppy's arc was the most enjoyable. She was lighthearted and actually listen to people's oppinion, and the ending with the snidget was really adorable. I hoped there would be a lot more of her quests.

@@aidanjanemcintosh6919 That's what Sebastian was though. He was meant to show how slippery a slope that is and to illustrate exactly how it is so many Slytherins turn out "bad." It wasn't about being evil, or causing harm. He was trying to save his sister and in pursuit of his ambition, lost sight of reality. Now you're seeing why Sebastian was a Slytherin and Poppy a Hufflepuff. Both examples you listed are their prime characteristic trait. You make a good point about how Isidora should have been the final boss. Even if it was just her ghost, two ancient magic users would have made for a good final boss fight. My biggest gripes with the game are
There should be several more class related quests and appropriate quest rewards. DotD should reward you with unlocking defensive spells, Charms should rewards you with unlocking charms, Herbology should reward you with unlocking each plant, and potions should reward you with unlocking each potion. It would add much more depth to the classes and also allow PC to decide which classes they want to pursue early on.
They need to liven up the world a bit more. Not necessarily more quests, but better reactions from NPCs as you go around.

My biggest problem was the overall writing and especially the way they approached the villains. The entire time I felt like Ranrok was just a scapegoat villain and once Isadora was shown to becoming more dark, I really really expected her to end up being the main villain (perhaps she was able to extend her lifespan with her ancient magic) and that would've been SO MUCH BETTER imo. She actually would've been a dangerous and interesting villain unlike the 2 nobodies and it would've opened up the option to join her and become full dark wizard, something else the game is missing. That would've made the game infinitely better imo.

I really wanna see a morality system be implemented in the second installment (assuming there is one). I think the story has so much potential but I really only saw myself drawn to Sebastian's quest line. It seemed to be the most immersive and the one with the least amount of "busy work" as I call it. But even with that, I think it's just a major flaw that we can learn the unforgivable curses AND use them with no consequence. Being able to make decisions that genuinely impact your story and its ending would make this game pretty perfect. Yeah, it would take more time, but I would've rather waited a couple more years and have this feature than still get this game when we did. And beyond that, I do wish the houses had more significant differences in story.
    anyways, great video!

I think so too. Hogsmeade is a no fly zone for that reason. But could also be a technical reason. Hogsmeade is quite a dense area, with many assets. It takes awhile to load in, and I would say flying over it, would cause some issues with the game (imo). As annoying as it is, it's a good thing. I like the "banned skateboarding" sorta idea though.

Limitations around Hogsmeade are there because the village is a little bit too complicated to be loaded perfectly at once. So you have to take some time to walk to go there to allow the game to fully load everything in the viillage. That's why if you use the mod that removes that invisible wall you will also witness some LoD textures or models if you land directly in the center of the village.

Overall just the regular floo powder in and out is better. I do hope there will be a sequel to this game, it has so much potential to explore the rich world of Harry Potter much further that HL did. I would love to see some meaningfull loot... loot with a story of its own.. discovering ancient relics that one could use. Hunting for deathly hallows.. or something simillar. My biggest issue with this RPG is that there are 0 consequences for your actions, even for practising dark arts, choosing "the evil" ending makes no difference. You are still a bright and brilliant boy/girl to everyone, no mather what you do in the game... there is always that innocent bright smile on your face all the time. And the story is very simple and lacks built up... like for example questioning keepers methods when they clearly murdered Isidora.

With the broom, I could avoid waiting for long animations, which made exploring the magical world much more enjoyable. However, I must admit, the graphorn was an absolute standout! It was a unique and fascinating experience, almost like being an invisible rampager as I soared through the game. • @joaosoares9588
    @joaosoares9588 Год назад +31

I was literally thinking recently about why you can't use the broom in Hogesmeade, and I would say that the restriction is simply so that your revelio spell won't be as powerful as it could. Since you can't jump in your broom inside the town, revelio's range won't be as powerful, making you actually need to walk through the city in order to find the collectables and stuff.

    • @Nicopia0

It really felt like I was playing a mashup of all the good games out there, lots of zelda and half life 2 esque puzzles, dark souls type combat, world of warcraft type gear and leveling, skyrim type quests, lots of crysis type elements including graphics, far cry esque enviroments it's all perfect. I loved the main story. I thought it was fascinating.
But I REALLY loved the fact that our character has no backstory. Four of us are playing, and we each made up different things about who our character was. It would have been annoying to all have to play the same person.
I do agree that backstories for Rookwood and Harlow, giving more idea of who they are and why they do what they do would have been nice. I thought we would find out the connection between the two Rookwoods and how Charles Rookwood's diary or notes led to the current Rookwood's participation in this issue.
I think the flying mounts were harder to get to go than the broom. But I loved the fact that the easiest way to get down from a high place was the Lord of the Shore. He could leap down distances that would have killed my character, and there was no complicated maneuvering to landing.
I agree about the flying limitations. I wanted to fly around inside the school! :-)

With those 2 its the usual. Money and power. Not much is needed to understand them, think Putin/Prigozhin combo there. A smart power hungry jerk, and a thug with him. What they really needed was prof Weasley not giving the same exact speech at the end. And way more endings of the main arcs. They didn't prioritize what to record and animate. IMO they had money and time, but got too distracted by too much side stuff. As far as the mounts go, read the books not the films. They are as Harry saw them in the books. Way less control. I thought it was good to do overall. Spoilers lower.
They needed true RPG choices like AC Odyssey, Witcher 3, or insert the name. Fig saved, Sebastian persuaded, maybe even using the ancient magic to heal Anne if I chose to release. It's a shame they wasted on a lot of unimportant things, and ignored the main story not being a movie. But neither Batman nor Shadow of Mordor is an RPG, so they're really new to it all. This is more than those 2, but still kinda is like those 2. Solid action/adventure games with RPG elements, should have been much more...

This game is so good it makes me forget to do simple things like eat. My first playthrough I’m Slytherin, on my next playthrough I’m gonna be a Gryfinndor. Really in my opinion those are the two most important houses to the lore. On my Gryfinndor playthrough, I’m gonna try to play it completely opposite (not learn any unforgivable curses etc). Also you can’t fly in the towns, because in lore broomstick travel was banned in civilizations because of the danger factor.

Honestly if they came out with a Hogwarts 2, gotta say I'd wait for a sale. I was hyped for this game, picked it up day 1 and was so engrossed in the story for the first 50% of it. Once you sort of reach that halfway mark you start getting the feeling that all these characters they introduced will have absolutely nothing to do with the story. A Prof. Weasley heel-turn would have been cool, more involvement from Headmaster Black in general.
It felt like they tried to set up so much, but in the end it's just you 1v1 with Ranrock. I thought the game would have more replay value maybe trying it out in a different house or something, but honestly couldn't be bothered especially after collecting all those statues for the alohomora upgrades.

I loved the game. The immersion you feel exploring Hogwarts castle alone makes the game worth buying. The amount of detail that's in the graphics and animations there is perhaps the most impressive I've ever seen. The story and side quests aren't excellent but I would say they are above average. For a sequel, the biggest things I would want to see is a stronger focus on the immersive aspects of being a student. I would like to get more interactive dialogue options with random students, more interesting unique things or discoverable quests happening with students hanging out in the house common rooms or at night. Really flesh out how the different houses interact with the player and create some sort of friendship/enemy system depending on how you interact with students. Let us sort of pick a group of friends that can follow us around the castle and give them unique dialogue interactions or unlock certain things that you discover exploring the castle Also a more involved classroom curriculum. All of the interactive classroom scenes we got were lots of fun they just need to do much more of them throughout the seasons. And finally, like you said a stronger main story with more focus on the decisions you made throughout the game offering a variety in how the story ends. Of course I would always be happy to see new and interesting spells with more elaborate skill trees. I also agree they need to add opportunities for very challenging combat and maybe give them some cool unique rewards. If they could add more voice options to the characters and more character customization that would also help quite a bit in creating a character you feel like you can relate to. To sum up, if they could just emphasize the student aspects with a more focused, engaged story and role playing experience the game would be so much stronger. The foundation they established with the castle alone will take this game series unbelievably far, I hope they don't mess this up. I think a Hogwarts legacy 2 could be ripe for a Triwizard Cup narrative.

I think there is so much more they can do with combat, for example New spells: We should learn reducto which would be a more powerful Bombarda that curses but has a larger cooldown, silencio (stops enemies from attacking), an upgrade for nonverbal spells in case an enemy uses silencio on us, we could have impedimenta it could function as a spell that knocks the enemy down dealing damage and stops them from moving for a little bit. With an upgrade it could inflict a curse. We could have alarte ascendare or ascendio to launch enemies in the air, we could use the bat-bogey hex to temporarily stun enemy’s and it could have an upgrade that makes them cursed. We could have apparition to teleport around the battlefield and set up combos, it’d be sick to just appeared out of nowhere and take out a poached with ancient magic. We could have confundo that could be like a weaker imperio but it automatically curses enemies who are are struck by their allies and has a shorter cooldown. We could use the conjunctivitis curse to stop enemies from seeing while dealing damage or just obscuro if we need to take some heat off. Immobolus, locomotor morris, and incarcerous as control spells that temporarily stop targets. Legilimens to see a targets weakness and use the according spell to do extra damage. We could have obliviate to stop one enemy from attacking all together and has a large cooldown. And I saved the best for last expecto patronum could charge down enemies as an instant kill but cannot be used in conjunction with dark spells, would have a large cooldown but less than avada kedavra. Then we could also have fiendfyre which could instantly take out inferi and deal massive damage to groups of enemies cursing all off them, then you could avada kedavra and take them all out. Also we need more difficulty scaling, by the time you’ve reached the end of the game after collecting and side quests your gear is so high level and with insane perks and combat becomes a breeze. Perhaps a new difficulty mode is required where enemies are far more aggressive and will use unforgivable curses on you which you have to dodge. That would make it so that even if you can take them out fast you have to have fast reflexes and time your attacks and blocks well. And then of course if we had more arena’s with increasing difficulty it could allow players to really test their skills.

Hogwarts Legacy did it's job wonderfully, it wasn't anything revolutionary, but it didn't need to be. Not every game needs to push the limits. It set the groundwork for a potential sequel, and I can't wait to see what comes next.
I really wouldn't mind just a more school sim like game for the 6th year of our HL characters, where the focus is more squarely on the classes and relationship quests of your classmates, then some world shattering quest, maybe some like school drama like main story to keep time moving forward, something maybe akin to Bully.

Yeah I found that in-game explanation completely lacking. Apparently all ancient magic users start learning at 15. But why wait until 15? Are they not able to perform magic before that? If yes, why not come up with a reason and explain in the pensieve memories. Instead they just give no reason at all.
Also to your point "too powerful too soon and would get bored if you came earlier": wouldn't that just mean graduating early if we apply real life principles or skipping a grade or two.
I mean it's obvious that the player needed to be a new student at an appropriate age. New enough that they had to learn everything from scratch but old enough that it wasn't unreasonable for them to go out and fight. I just wish that they would have come up with a more detailed backstory for the ancient magic.

And yeah the map is too damn big for dark wizards, goblins, mongrels, spiders, dungbogs and trolls…for an action rpg thats not anywhere near a decent # of enemy types. You cant even hit lvl cap till after the main story and complete EVERYTHING so what is that final talent point for…that being said i want to change to the controls and ill be happier lol

Like many have pointed out. Insane quality on the video! Also agree with most of what you have pointed out :)
My biggest problem with Hogwarts Legacy is the wast amount of useless loot. Especially when you beat bosses or solve harder puzzles and it only drop some bad green downgrade. I Never got excited when i got better gear either.
Alsto, in my opinion, alohomora was fun the first 10 times and after that got tedious.

    I’d give the game a 7.5/10.
-should have been more of a role playing game with consequences/better story
    - Combat is very good (Altho a bit assassins creedy)
    - scenery/locations are beautiful if not perfect.
    - characters are well done but not enough depth.
    - items look okay but there’s only like 3/4 different pieces of clothing overall for each slot so it gets repetitive.
    - I like all the extra curricular aspects such as beasts, requirement room etc but needs quidditch DLC.
Def recommend but can’t see myself do another play through.
Nice vid tho, you’ve earned a sub 👌🏼

Agreed. Definitely needs a morality system like in mass effect. Dark magic should have consequences. And more RPG elements like different skills only available to certain houses and different wands having advantages and weaknesses.

But that hole on your character story before hogwarts it’s up to you to fulfill, and that’s the fun part about character creation. You can create the past lore that you wish and determine their future up to that.

One big problem that I had is that it feels like the world is made around you instead of you being placed in the world. It feels kind of fake when everyone likes you immediately.

90% of the characters in this universe are nice to each other. They didn't have a world war 2, muggles know that magic exists thanks to their magical children every so often. Life is pretty great outside of the few decades when Tom riddle/Voldemort was rumored to exist and maybe Grindelwald.

I also chose Ravenclaw and I had no idea they got hate. Ik it's fiction, but I've always felt I'd be Ravenclaw 😅 one of my few gripes with this game is how your character's dialogue options are pretty limited. It's usually either "you are stunning and brave for what you did" or "why would you do something so dangerous?" Something along those lines. Idk just feels bland. And finally 6:00 had me laughing so hard with the Light laughter and Doom music 😂

It's not that they get hate. People say it's the worst because none of your companions are in it and it has the least unique content associated with it.

Gotta say I disagree. Game is as deep as a kiddy pool and so repetitive. I got bored after 30 hours, didn't even finish it. I commend you for putting 100+ hours in this.

100% agree. For the record, the game doesn’t get any better at the 70 hour mark. You saved yourself a lot of time and didn’t miss much not completing it.

I can say the same about Starfield. Starts off good 1h in. But then just feels like the devs just copied and pasted the next 99h. I wish WB took more inspiration from RPGs like Monster Hunter and what makes that game so playable after hundreds of hours. It's a hard thing to nail

For most RPG games I would agree but something clicked for my with Hogwarts Legacy. I put 80 hours into it and got 100% everything.
Normally I get bored with rpg games. Skyrim, StarField etc… they just don’t click with me.
