This is the fourth sheet music video, part of a series.
I plan on eventually creating sheet music videos for all my compositions.
    ____________
    📙 Backstory:
I wrote "Kumo Ascending" in December 2022.
"Kumo" means clouds in Japanese. I was thinking of this imagery: drifting through the clouds and slowly getting higher and higher. It's also metaphoric, taking parallels from JRPGs and their storylines. It represents rising above a past turmoil, slowing ascending and leaving the past behind.
    ____________
    ✨ Some highlights:
-The chord progression is quite simple and repetitive (Bmaj7, Cm6, Dm7, Cm6) but the slight changes and variations in the right hand make it sound varied
-The heavy use of rubato (specifically slowing down at the beginning and end of each measure, but speeding up in the middle) is what gives this piece that very "emotional" quality.

We’re about to have a thunderstorm in the middle of summer, and the clouds are rolling in gently. This piece reflects that idea perfectly, kind of like embracing the beauty of the present before you have to deal with the pain and emerge again better than before. That skill you have to make your audience think of so much in your pieces…. what a super power. Thank you, Edin! ❤

      Hey Swann!
That's a beautiful description! And you hit the nail right on the head! Funny enough it's exactly what I had in mind with this piece too (as it's part of my "Post-Saigai" EP, "saigai" meaning calamity). "Kumo Ascending" is figurative, representing coming out of a past turmoil or calamity (whether personal or external).
Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for the kind words 🙏😊

Great job... As one of the Anti-Heroes of this world. I do approve on the emotion you've put in. It's a lost language, but you handled it greatly. "Through pain we love..."

the thing is as a composer i want to build up off 1 idea but i use more and more notes in the chords and the climax is just fat thats why i love this piece so much aswell as descending its so simple yet affective sorry for bad english . just wanted to say that i love how you can make of just a few chords such a beauty and i hope you will keep doing this since its a lot of inspiration tx and keep it up. :)

Thanks you!🥲Kumo means "clouds" in Japanese - I thought it was a beautiful sounding word and would fit perfect with the imagery I wanted to convey: slowly drifting higher through the clouds~
