Hello. I am 66 years old and I have been learning guitar for 3 years. By chance he found your channel and it has been a blessing. The patience with which you teach us to play those beautiful songs is a priceless piece of luck. Thank you very much and continue teaching guitar that way. 🎸🎸🤗🤗💯💯Hello. I’m 68 and have been playing for around 30 years started as a project with my 14 year old son. I love how you dissect a song and simplify it. As we get older our hands don’t always move as smoothly as you used to. Thanks for your channel
Love your videos man. In my late 40s and never played an instrument in my life. Picked up guitar about a year ago and have gone through the various channels and learnings, but your style and pace just work so well for me. Really appreciate your dedication to helping others like myself learn and progress on guitar. Keep it up!
Hi Kevin, I just came across your Hotel California lesson and I really enjoyed it. I consider myself a senior (meaning 70 years old) beginner/intermediate. I have subscribed to your channel because I like your choices of music, and also your teaching style. You have named your channel perfectly. I look forward to checking out many more of your lessons. Cheers.
Thank you I am 70 years old and love this song I am still a beginner and have been trying to play this song for years I am now going to practice with this method.
That was a great lesson. Slow - easy - clear. I’m 72 and started learning 10 years ago. Still learning how much I don’t know. That was so fun. Can’t wait to play it. Thank you
You are a wonderful teacher. I use to play bass. When civic struck my wife bought me a beautiful Gibson accustic. I can't barr and it drifted mental. But I know alot of open chords!! Even the fing f👀 I am going to jail this one tomorrow. Then check out your other video s. Thanks so much. I am 71 and live in London. So I have subbed and you will be hearing from me soon. Thanks again Ronnie.
I have played the guitar a little everyday since high school, I am now crowding sixty and haven’t really leaned anything new until I found your channel. I am having so much fun learning from you ! Thank you so much ! P.S. I love your style of teaching
Thank you , Thank you, you are the first teacher I have found that makes the intro look easy for those of us who are old enough to have bought the album when it first came out.
Started playing 2 months ago with the app Simply Guitar (at 43 years old). I've always wanted to learn how to play this iconic song. So happy I found your channel!!!! Big thumbs up. Greetz from Belgium
I play electric (Les Paul Classic) now, but always keep that acoustic close by! Listen to Kevin! Also, check out Billy Strings to show just how far you can go, and beyond on acoustic! God Bless you, Kevin!
As a seasoned guitarist, I must say, I think you are giving some of the best beginner lessons I have ever watched. I'm a new sub just so that I can play along with you. You are doing a great justice to the music world. Thank you.
Loved this video. I've just started learning a couple of months ago, at 63yo, and this was the easiest lesson to follow. You Made it seem simple and it was. Especially the picking pattern. I'm still struggling with Barre chords. So the alternative F worked out great. This is the first song I've managed to play the whole way through, as so far I've just been learning chords and progressions.. and just been putting little bits together.. I'll be checking out some of your other videos now. Thankyou
Aloha from Maui I just found your lesson and I don't have my guitar, so If you can please put a thank you for watching. That way I be able to find it again.
I don't know how I've never come across your channel before- and very aptly named! My guitaring has really plateaued, but you've inspired me to dig deeper. Thank you so much!
I’ve been trying to self teach over last two years and my motivations become stagnant at times. I only discovered your lessons the other day and I must say they are the best selection of songs I’ve come across! It’s got me very enthused again and I’m loving the content and simplicity that just gets you putting music together 👍🏻 Thank you and have a great Christmas, keep them coming
Great tutorial. I learnt this song in my own way. Found your video, and wow. You’re playing it the same way. Although the Don Felder solo, is a bit hard. I just strum all the chords again, to the outro.
Nice lesson,Played this one live many times. Been playing this song for 40 years,Worked in a little parts of the solos for one guitar. But sounds great with 2.
Just subbed . Usual story ,,, have always wanted to play (now 57 ) , fiddled around a little bit , off and on, but never fully committed the time to learn . I like your style and how you take the time to explain things . I will do it , lol..... Thanks for this lesson 🙂
I’ve been playing for a year…watching a ton of your work…but this is the first time I was able to put a song completely together through the duration! Maybe I can leave kindergarten…….?
Fun beginner song. Sounds great. My bar chord F is a bit weak, so I'll go look to see if you have a lesson on bar chords which I think I remember seeing somewhere.
That was great! Thanks. I'm a new player at 62 yo and I've only been playing for 9 months and this level fits well into my wheelhouse so to speak. But what I find missing in all of this is the BPM in 4/4 as well as how many repeating verse/chorus sections there are when you play the actual song. Nonetheless, this is a great primer for playing this song! Thanks again.
Thank you for watching! Happy to help! The BPM is 74. Or you can play it at 148. It is in 4/4 time. I would listen to the song for the number of verses/choruses. I do provide tablature and lyrics for this and all of my song lessons inside our member’s area.
I recently bought a Harley Benton 12 string... Wish to try Hotel California on that guitar... Your this video seems will be of help I guess... Thanks ... Let me try...
Thanks for the great video! Just curious can you do any old school country like George Straight Give it away or from Randy Travis Forever and ever amen?
Thank you for sharing. I like learning the guitar while learning a song so I have a question why do you take away showing of the cord pattern so quickly? As I'm learning both i'd appreciate seeing the Cord Graphic up well beyond your movement to the next cord. And to further improve on that, why not leave them all up as we progress posting a first column and if needed a second column? IF technically able you can highlight in color or shade, each one as we play them.
Another fantastic lesson: after all, even if you SAY you don't like Hotel California, the moment you PLAY it... You can enter, but you'll never leave... Personally though, I occasionally miss that E7 (second chord) you play and can end up with a E or Em, even ended up with a C at some point... somehow it still didn't sound off at all. What I'm trying to say is that it's a very forgiving song, so people REALLY pushing themselves with it should just relax into it.
Check out this lesson for more songs that sound great! ruclips.net/video/7FurwLN6Hmc/видео.html

I struggle with bar cords, but there are alternatives. Don’t give up. Just play a different F cord.
Honestly I never got barre chords … I’ve been playing 2 years and can play all my favorite songs and all the classics with sans barre chords :)

Extremely Good - Do some Robin Trower Please . Mid 1970's
Hey thank! Glad you liked it. I can add the request to the list!
Good arrangement. I do suggest using an E7 instead of the E. Seems to be a common substitution and sounds great in this song.
Great! I’ll try that. Thanks for watching!

Thanks Jake! I wanted to do a version that anyone could play and be proud about :)
