New UN City of Peace Derry-Londonderry celebrates the Power of Culture

Derry International Choir Festival marks 10 years since the first UK City of Culture in Derry-Londonderry and the recent UN International City of Peace, with a performance of The Cranberries’ Dreams, which featured in The Derry Girls.
In 2013 Derry-Londonderry hosted the first ever UK City of Culture, 10 years later in 2023, Derry-Londonderry has been announced as an official United Nations International City of Peace. Celebrating the Power of Culture, Derry International Choir Festival packed the iconic Guildhall Square with an international audience to exclaim together: “I am a Derry Girl!”, whilst listening to a chorus of local post-primary Derry girls and Derry boys performing the iconic ‘Dreams’ by The Cranberries.
