First sauce that was white is ranch. The 2nd yellowish sauce was honey mustard
most likely they where! BUT you never know the 1st may have been a blue cheese and the 2nd could be a fry sauce I.E. ketchup and mayo BUT yes the 2nd is most likely a honey mustard kind of an industry standard for chicken tenders.
pjorya, I would believe you are correct; the white sauce was ranch and the 2nd light yellow sauce had to be honey mustard, I've had that dish before and it was always honey mustard, of course if ordering online they give you a lot of choices in dipping sauces.
I agree with you to a point, the second, sure, the first is either Ranch or Blue cheese, the celery sticks, wings, blue cheese seems more likely, because of them saying it doesn't smell like ranch....but then again....
Sorry... I used the dreaded ellipses that my generation likes to use..
It is basically, in some cases, just the "da da duuuuunnnn" at the cliff hanger of a sentence, three sounds, 3 dots...
@@kevingunderson3296 thats all i am saying i was not there so who knows
I know it's too late now since y'all are already back home, but next time y'all are in the U.S. , don't be afraid to ask the waiter/waitress what the sauces are or any other questions about your meal. My guess is the first sauce was ranch and the second one was honey-mustard.
It's also too late but next time get the BOURBON STREET STEAK.
When it comes out it's sizzling in a cast iron skillet and everyone in the restaurant will feel stupid for not ordering it. Seriously, BSS is the way.
Pro tip: Get it with a side of honey mustard. Cut pieces of steak and dip them in honey mustard. Trust me. I know these things.
First was ranch 2nd was honey mustard
You two are like kids in a candy store. I'm glad that you are enjoying eating American vittles.🇺🇸 Someone else mentioned this but Bourbon Street Steak is the way to go at Applebee's.
The first dip is probably Ranch, which is technically *supposed* to be there for the celery, but a lot of people dip the wings in too. The original idea was that wings were spicy (ie: Buffalo), and the celery with Ranch was paired with them to cool your mouth off. Blue Cheese is also presented with them sometimes, which is my preference. I’m that odd American that doesn’t really like Ranch.
And blue cheese dressing is actually the original dip for the veggies that come with buffalo wings.
I don't think I've ever heard someone use the word "gorgeous" more than he does...lol.
Got to remember that a lot of these places are not in the UK. All new to them and i'm appreciating their views.
@@lazlong9645 That’s fine but I’m talking about a word he uses.
Can't say I've ever heard Applebee's food being referred to as "gorgeous". LOL
Applebee's is certainly one of the restaurants of all time. An oddly expensive one at that.
They do have the best boneless wings however. With honey bbq sauce on them.
@@ahoyforsenchou7288 Applebee's is hardly expensive.
Remember they have British palates, used to eating British food. Even the slightest seasoning or flavor is going to seem like a lot the English.
Right? For the longest time I had never had an actually "good" meal there. No matter what I ordered it all just seemed "meh or okay." Either they're improving the quality of their food now or they changed to menu to good items, but I've actually had a few "good" meals there the last few times. Surprised me. (I eat there more often these days because it's like the only sit-down restaurant at the shopping area I go to.)
I retired recently and Applebee's has a good weekday lunch menu. Fiesta Lime Chicken is my favorite. I get two meals out of the pasta dishes.
The late wife and I would frequent Applebees on a bi-weekly basis I usually got Ribs or riblets while she enjoyed fajitas they came out sizzling on a hot metal plate and I knew she was happy
Awww❤🙏
my mother loved the quesadilla burger. sorry for your loss
A man recognizing what made his wife happy is pure love and something we need more of in this world! I'm so sorry for your loss.
God food in the UK must be bland if you think fingers at Applebee's has spice lol
We may need a charity to send spices to the British. They've sold them in the past, now we need to show them how to use them.
They almost conquered the world for spices yet didn't use any lol
The food does tend to be bland in the UK. It didn't seem Ranch dressing was as popular either. The Indian food was fabulous though!
@@rayleneknight8718 Bet it would be even better with ranch. Lol.
Bless James' heart. He thought the Brown gravy at Cracker Barrel was spicy. Gotta' love 'em. 😀
That dip with the tenders was honey mustard
That's what it looked like. But surely they'd have recognized honey mustard.
@@CCoburn3 I’m not sure 🤔 is it common in the UK?
@@BransonareabreakingnewsThey mainly eat ketchup, mayo or peri peri. Per my South Yorkshire lass. They actually dip their chips (fries) in mayo.
@@Bransonareabreakingnews Mustard surely is. But honey mustard? I’m not sure. But surely they would have recognized the taste of mustard. Though, since it never occurred to them to get some ketchup for their fries, who can tell? But they are trying their best.
@@CCoburn3 some honey mustard is so sweet it’s hard to tell. I actually like the really sweet kind
4:27 I could be wrong but that looks like the legendary 🙌honey mustard🙌
If those are buffalo wings, the dressing would be 'Blue Cheese Dressing.
3:30 Bless Millie's UK Jersey heart for thinking those Applebee's chicken tenders were southern fried. She did grow up in a nation that still thinks salt and pepper are the only two seasonings applied to food, so she cannot be blamed.
lmfao
To be fair, southern fried chicken only gets salt and pepper as seasonings as well.
And vinegar is a condiment.
@@Roborebonzo It can be used as one, but it isn’t one in general.
Stop Southern cooking isn't great
I love it every time he says "They're gorgeous!" when referring to food!
If there wasn't ketchup on the table, you can ask for it or just about any condiment you want....
Brits aren't big on ketchup.
Love your videos of your trip to USA! It's also been amazing watching my other favorite react channels watching and reacting (positively) to your videos as well! Hope you guys will be able to visit more often! ❤
That looks like honey mustard sauce you're having with the fried chicken tenders.
you can always ask for more dip for free, that is honey mustard
Lmao I remember taking my Australian friend to Hooters when he visited us in California, we got a huge platter of wings to eat and kept asking for more dip, thinking it'd be free. NOPE they charge you for everything. But to be fair, who goes to Hooters for their food.
Rubbing the french fry on the rib was a pro move. You guys are quickly picking up what it is to be an American eater :)
Nope
So very glad you had such a lovely time in the U.S.
I can't even remember the last time I ate at an Applebee's.
The food's not the greatest, although the burgers are pretty awesome.
Hey guys. Ranch dip/dressing is pretty much it's own food group. You can dip anything in ranch and it will taste great. Chicken, pork, beef, fries, pizza, bread sticks, veggies like cucumbers, celery, carrots, potatoes, and on and on it goes. Honey mustard dip/dressing can be used for most of the same foods, though I wouldn't try it on pizza.
I find it funny that Brits say gorgeous for food items. Americans reserve that word for people, homes and other items such as cars, and views or vistas. Never for food.
Exactly 😂. We don't think of food as being beautiful which is how "gorgeous" is generally used the US.. it refers to beauty. Food is tasty, delicious, yummy etc. Lol
It’s freaking Applebees lol
I haven't been to an applebees in nearly a decade.
Same I went in like 2012 or something.
There's (normal) Ranch, Then there's BUTTERMILK Ranch (The Mayo is replaced by Buttermilk). There's also a Ranch with Cucumber in it... Very Refreshing on a warm day!
Avocado ranch is great too
I am glad you tried it and enjoyed yourselves. Loving all your videos from the states.
The honey mustard sauce uses honey collected from apple bee's hives.
fyi about a couple of potato products... lots of potato based products actually use mashed and powered potato to form into shapes then partially cooked in order to make it look like it was cut from the potato instead... with the skin on, then you know it was actually cut from the potato and not made by mash. Also, homemade mash potatoes that have 'chunks' of potatoes still in it shows that it was mashed by hand, thus made from whole potatoes and not rehydrated from powered mash potato...
Im thinking the tender sauce was honey mustard
Wings often come with blue cheese dressing and celery so that's probably what the dip is.
It was ranch, at least that's what the menu says.
I’m thinking the sauce you had with the tenders is honey mustard
Could be honey dijon, they mentioned a mayo flavor....but i agree one or the other
@@burnout_2017 Most upscale honey mustard dips contain a mix of yellow and dijon mustard.
it is
I love Applebees. It was a great place to go as a kid with family, a teenager with friends, as a young adult in the bar, and as an adult with a family. It is the quintessential American chain sit-down casual restaurant.
Applebee's used to be better in my opinion, but has fallen off. I'd rank it around TGI Friday's. I don't think it's terrible, and the price isn't terrible, but it isn't a top tier restaurant. It's the type to go to with friends for a quick bite after work. It wouldn't be my first choice to eat at, but at least you got to experience something you wouldn't have been able to try elsewhere. Plus that one definitely looked a lot more lively than my local one.
I’d say I prefer Chili’s to Applebee’s
So many great restaurants of 1970s and 1980s, now gone.
TGI Fridays was great in 1980s, but floundered in 1990s (different ownership/management).
@@w9gb
Don’t forget Ruby Tuesday
I think the entire concept of these types of casual chain restaurants has gotten a bit outdated since the 80s
These types of places are where you stop if you’ve been driving all day or have a long flight layover in another city and need a bite to eat… I don’t think they’re the kinds of restaurants most people PLAN to go on a Friday or Saturday night, especially younger people
@@coyotelong4349 Wow, I nearly forgot all about Ruby Tuesday. There was only one around me that was connected to the mall and that closed maybe 7 years ago now. I did enjoy going there once in a while too.
@@Andrew-Collet Plus from 1970s Ground Round and Steak & Ale (owned by Pillsbury).
Most times pork riblets are the trimmings left over from a full rack of pork ribs that was trimmed to make the St Louis style rack of pork ribs. But also a full rack of pork ribs will be cross cut to make pork riblets.
The yellow dip/sauce was honey mustard.
Applebees is decent food for what it is--a good place to stop by when you're hungry but not necessarily wanting to spend $100 on a meal for two. Not every vacation meal needs to be extravagant, sometimes you just need some grub! Glad you enjoyed!
Sauce with the boneless wings was probably ranch or blue cheese, sauce with the tenders is most likely honey mustard
If they gave you ranch, they aren't following procedures. It's supposed to be blue cheese. And the ribs, not riblets, are seasoned, then steamed, cooled, then cooked to order with the bbq sauce of your choice. And yes the seasoning has a bite to it.
I haven't eaten at Applebees in probably 15 years, but always got their fiesta lime chicken or a burger. And they had really good queso with seasoned taco meat inside it too.
The white sauce is probably Blue Cheese, typical for Buffalo wings and the yellow some sort of honey Mustard.
I love Applebee's ❤. It's economical and the food is good. The boneless chicken sauce is Ranch. Ranch is always white. It's very delicious 😋. 5he second sauce is honey mustard. It's usually a light yellowish color. You needed ketchup for the fries 🍟 😒. Glad you enjoyed your food 😊❤.
Blue cheese is the default in most places and generally you have to ask for ranch. It's hard to tell because they look so similar. Applebee's is decent but hate to tell you this, some of their food is microwaved and not actually cooked in the back. Applebees is great to go to after a night out with a group of friend. Also they have pretty good drinks.
Applebees was my go to from like 2008- 2018 lol it was my spot. There is one where I live in Baltimore where they even had a dj play music on weekends. It's was pretty live.
DIP THOSE WAFFLE FRIES AND FRIES/CHIPS INTO SOME HEINZ KETCHUP
The Beesleys, You're the best! I subscribed because I love your content!
At Applebee's I usually go for a burger or the 4 Cheese Mac and Cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders. It's pretty good. A lot of the decor at their restaurants have a local theme to them.
I am always amazed that they dont have water or something else to drink while eating.
If you go into an Applebees kitchen early in the morning, you'll see plastic bags of the day's food defrosting in the sink.
They don't have ranch or honey mustard where they live, so this place was amazing.
Applebee's has a very varied menu. They also have really good French onion soup.
Yall are the cutest couple ever! The dip is likely honey mustard. You two are so much fun! Much love to y’all!
San Francisco has been fighting these chain stores and restaurants for years. The residents think they diminish the unique quality of the City. The only places where most of them are allowed are in tourist areas like Fishermans Wharf. There is no Walmart in San Francisco and the Costco is located in an industrial neighborhood South of Market street.
Applebees is always a good night time random snack meal (if that’s even a thing 😂). Usually just cheap appetizers for me, boneless wings and mozzarella sticks specifically
Famous buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing are the best. Also the oriental chicken salad is my go-to
We use to go to Applebees and Chili's in high school when we first got our driver's licenses and wanted a night out to try to be adults. It was good back in...2006ish but I haven't been there since.
Glad that you enjoyed. Applebee's has fed my family many good meals. Some family members spent much time employed there. All good things.
I like their Quesadilla Burger. You can't go wrong with the Pasta's they have their either. Good value. Though I would recommend saving room for dessert. A warm brownie and ice cream just always hits the spot.
@@Majorpain32677 @Novaximus You guys are doing a bit, right? 😮
The top two dipping sauces in the United States is blue cheese and ranch❤
Applebees has house long island iced tea cocktails and some other select ones for $5.00 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and from 9:00pm until close and also have half priced appetizers. The Chicken Wanton Tacos is my favorite appetizer paired with a long island or two on happy hour it is a cheap stop for food and refreshment.
I like to get a Sirloin steak 🥩 with steamed broccoli and a house salad. They’re very reasonable with their value. Although, it’s a franchise, so just like all of them, the quality really depends on the neighborhood you’re in.
I haven't been to Applebees in a long time. U guys are making me want to give them a visit. Going when I get off work 🤗
I was at Apple Bees last Saturday; I got the riblets. I always love the riblets. You don't have to dip your meat in ranch dressing. I don't ... I love BBQ.
My favorite Applebee’s food is their Oriental chicken salad with the fried chicken. Also, I like dipping my waffle fries in honey mustard sauce. Enjoy watching your videos ❤
"Oh thats spicy, what is it?" Milk, its milk LOL
The first sauce was Ranch and the second was Honey Mustard.
We don't normally eat wings with silverware...it's more with your hands.
I would be able to finish all that food by myself without giving it a second thought. The sauces were ranch and honey mustard.
I stopped eating at Applebee's since they got rid of my two favorites from there, the crispy orange chicken bowl and the spinach and shrimp salad with warm bacon vinaigrette dressing.
I live in a teeny town of less than 3,000 in Oklahoma and I'd have to drive 50 miles to find an Applebees.....it all looks good. I feel lucky to have a Sonic!
When you called the honey mustard ranch, you irked every American 😂
No one cares
I can see why the famous named national chains might be a target location. But the 'Mom and Pop' small businesses are usually much better quality, if they haven't all been eradicated by the big chains. But this is happening all over the USA. The main difference is whether the recipes were concocted in a kitchen to get only the best flavor as possible, or a lab to save as much money on ingredients as possible.
The first one (white one) was ranch or blue cheese dressing. The second one (yellow) is honey mustard.
My go-to at applebees is probably steak with grilled shrimp. I can't remember if they serve clam chowder but that's my typical go-to meal at a dine-in
If you went to applebees and didnt try fiesta lime chicken and instead got a burger you missed out lol. Best thing on the menu by far
the 2 common popular sauces for wings is Ranch and Blue Cheese... there are many others that can be chosen (I like honey mustard or buffalo (hot sauce) (I like extra buffalo sauce).
I’m constantly surprised Applebees is still open. I don’t mind it, though it’s been at least 10 years since I have been, but it’s definitely an endangered restaurant chain.
now they have been to applebees as many times as i have .
Applebee's defienitly isn't struggling though. It's kind of like Buffalo Wild wings people don't like either of them but they're still hanging in there pretty good.
One of my favorites 10 years ago.
Not a big Applebees fan, but I do LOVE their won-ton chicken tacos and their French onion soup.
You can go wrong with some good ole Applebee's.
Exactly, decent price, quality and amount. Nailed it.
Now I'm hungry for waffle fries. I know Applebee's is kinda known for everyone collectively crapping on them for quality, but they have some good food once in a while.
To me if they are boneless they aren't "wings" - but looked good! That's probably honey-mustard dip....looks like it anyway...
Applebee's just recently had all you can eat riblets, buffalo wings, and crispy bready shrimp...that would have been fun for you!
Good for you James and Millie, you ate at Applebee's! If you ever feel like you need more sauce because they didn't give you enough for your meal, it is okay to ask for more sauce and they'll give it to you, we can finish dipping our chicken and if there is any sauce leftover we dip our fries in it or just use ketchup, we find we do that all the time depending on which restaurant we go to. AT Applebee's My husband likes to order the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp dish at Applebee's I like to enjoy the Strawberry balsamic chicken salad, or the Grilled Oriental chicken salad, sometimes I order a Bahama Mama mixed beverage and then order their classic cheeseburger. I'm glad you enjoyed your meals there! Peace. ☮
I would wager a guess based on what's most common in the US that the first dip was ranch and the second was honey mustard. Ranch is very common with wings and bbq stuff, while honey mustard is common with chicken strips and such.
It’s funny, y’all are brave not knowing the sauces or dressings as we call the dips. Honey mustard and ranch are probably the two most popular sauces along with BBQ of course. We gots the dips! 😁🇺🇸
I typically like to stick to the appetizers mostly at Applebee's. I like the boneless wings and the pretzels. The wife's favorite is the Tequila Lime Chicken.
The appetizer sampler is my jam! I also love the chicken tenders but having them tossed in honey pepper sauce is sooo good.
I love their bourbon street chicken and shrimp....😋
Applebee's is fantastic! Underrated
Riblets, the Bourbon Street Steak, or the Whiskey Bacon Burger are my usual orders. I was just looking at the menu and the Four-Cheese Mac & Cheese with Honey Pepper Chicken Tenders looks amazing.
I'm surprised... they normally ask what kind of dipping sauce you want.
Probably honey mustard, thats what it usually comes with & i get a few dips & extra sauces which is good with chicken is ranch, honey mustard or blue cheese all very good.
I'm defo amused you're saying Ranch like the rest of us Muricans say, versus "Raunch" as a lot of Englanders say, haha 👍👍
I'm very late in watching this video but next time in America order the best stuff at Applebee's! They have lime or tequila chicken, dark chocolate cake, margaritas, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, artichoke dip, steak, hamburgers! You kinda went to the way side here with boneless wings and ribs. Everything you ordered was boring! Love the channel, the dips were probably blue cheese and honey mustard... See you in the next video!❤️
4:52 I can tell from the color it's honey mustard
Honey, mustard, mayonnaise
First sauce looks like either ranch or blue cheese dressing. Second sauce looks like honey mustard.
I work for Applebee's in Orlando. You got to 2 meals I would never recommend. Is honey mustard btw.
Y’all should’ve went to chilis while you were here. The mozzarella sticks, the southwest egg rolls, and they’ve also got boneless buffalo wings that are fire too. At 5:12 y’all probably had blue cheese dressing
The boneless chicken wings are served with ethier Ranch or Blue cheese dressing you might have Ranch and the yellow sauce is Honey Mustard
The things I order at Applebees are the oriental chicken salad, Mac n cheese with honey pepper chicken, French onion soup. Once in a great while I’ll get the riblets.
Wow, that's a really fancy Applebee's. I don't even know if there's an Applebee's left in St. Louis, MO. it's been that long since I've been to one. Lol
