Originally my plan was to release the Old World Blues video this month, but the past few weeks has been pretty crazy. I moved in with my girlfriend, started a new job, have been working on my business, etc, so here's something entirely different. There's only 5 episodes left in the series, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, an updated cut content modding guide, another video that mostly wraps up the core game's cut content and a final special episode. Surprised and and yet unsurprised there is still so much cut content to explore. Thank you for sharing this with all of us, it's sad to hear there's only a few episodes of this series left, but it's been amazing to find all this out

Out of all of this, the audio design it's what saddens me the most. It seems it would work much like the Metro series, Exodus especifically in which they had multiple themes for exploration, sneaking, enemies detecting you, enemies searching for you and enemies attacking you

I was literally just sitting outside thinking "man, I'm so in the mood for some good new Vegas content, I would love a new triangle city vid" and I walked in to see a notification for this very video. So thrilled, super rad and thanks for the great content!
New Vegas is up there with Half Life 2 when it comes to the mystique of its cut content.
I _swear,_ I remember being able to turn in Vikki's bonnet and Vance's gun and hat to Primm Slim for a reward. It wasn't a restoraton mod, because I was playing on PS3 at the time. This was years ago. I must be misremembering, but, man, it's a vivid memory.
I swear you still can on the PS3. Honestly still play it on there and I could've sworn I turned both of them in to him not long ago. If not it at least let's you return the gun.
It probably got disabled from all the updates and DLC, i remember things from way before that you could do that you can't do anymore
There's a crazy amount of stuff on the base game versions of NV that was cut in subsequent patches or the dlc releases to save memory
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish that there was endless amount of cut content videos from triangle City....ohh...wait. glad to see another upload sir nobody consistently covers Fallout cut content like you do ..
On the topic of the Vipers being an actual faction: if I remember right, they were originally planned to have a lot more detail, adding details about their psuedo-cult nature, up to and including the chance for the Courier to join them and gain a unique perk, but they eventually ended up just being implemented as a generic raider band. (I don't remember where I heard this from, though.)
iirc there is a lot about them in the van buren design doc. no clue if they ever planned to include it in fnv though
I recommend trying out "Simply Uncut" for a lot of the 'experimental' cut content like the bighorner pen and explosive crate stuff in Goodsprings. It adds a lot of other content that might detract from the NV experience as well, like most of the FO3 weapon arsenal that isn't always correctly scaled (by that I mean, as an example, finding junk weapons in tool boxes worth thousands of caps).
All that work on the ambient soundscape, only to be drowned out as I blast Johnny Guitar the moment I step out of Doc Mitchel's house.
Every episode of this series leaves me awestruck by the ambition of the developers.
When I got this assignment, I was hoping there'd be more gambling

I’ve always imagined going through cut content to be the equivalent of a raccoon or crow digging through a trash can and marveling at everything it finds. It sounds kind of mean to people who look for cut content but I love raccoons and crows so I don’t really mean it as an insult. Anyway,

I played Ghost Town Gunfight siding with the Powder Gangers three weeks ago in the fully patched, unmodded version of the game on PC and Joe Cobb definitely said something about letting the Bighorners out.
I wish they would remaster this game and add all the cut content
I could swear that the companion confirmation lines do indeed play in my German version of FNV
It's possible they work in some localizations, but I've never heard them in the English release

This might be hard to research on, but I heard that similar to New Vegas, New California had to cut ALOT of content from the final release. Honestly, seeing cut content from quest mods would definitely be interesting to see.

I started playing new Vegas with the yukichigai unofficial patch already installed thanks to my older sibling so I never knew that a lot of the content I played, like primm Slim's dialogue, was originally cut from the game.
That's one messy cutting room floor.
Those music changes would have been good to keep, it's possible a modder could restore that feature if the soundtracks exist. Good video by the way.
I had no idea the first one was cut. It's been so long since I played without mods that I assumed it was part of the base game.

I remember adding music to a mod I made, I was unaware of the changes and the old music set system from FO3/OB/MW is still in the GECK but it doesn't work, I spent ages trying to figure out what was wrong until I discovered the new system. I really wish they'd left the old system in place, the new one would be great if it worked properly but it often doesn't, for all it's limitations at least the old system was reliable.
I believe the old system can still be used, but it needs scripting to override the new one.
@@TriangleCity I read that but could never find an example of that scripting and I'm not skilled enough to do it myself, I have a nightclub mod that's never been released because I can't be sure that the music will play correctly or play at all.
I'd swear I remember junk ammo being in-game. Maybe it was restored by a weapon mod and I never realized. It has been a decade since I played vanilla, after all.

Ah! I thought the Vance Gun was a glitch! I kept waiting around and trying different days to have them accept the weapon.
I'm guessing mine must come from a mod then, but I'm just not sure which, but I 100% have found various (jnk) rounds in my inventory for years now. I'll have to pull up my new Vegas again and try to figure out which mod adds them if it is from a mod

The Camp Golf, DLC, and Goodsprings parts of the video are not labeled correctly (chapters, not in the video), just to let you know.
All of this seems inconsequential, what I'm more disappointed by is Obsidian's big brain decision to remove fully complete (with appropriate DT and such) Fallout 3 Enclave and Hellfire power armor.

iirc in an older version of FNV on the Xbox 360 u actually used to be able to return Vances 9MM smg. I remember doing it back i the day before i played the PC version, and from wut i recall u couldnt take the gun back. I dont remember the full details.
I had another comment mentioning the same thing, so maybe it was altered in a patch
@@TriangleCity Most likely, infact there were lots of features that were actually removed via patches. Like the fiend helm having faction disguise.
In survival is already a pain early game to keep your limbs, imagine have to care and spend doctor bags for your companions

Odd, I remember handing the gun back to primm slim on the xbox one (xbox 360 version) without any mods 0_o (maybe I'm misremembering though...)
Seeing all these video makes me wonder what the hell was going through the minds of Obsidians management when they decided 18 months was enough time for the game?
It was Bethesda's fault that there was a time limit for the game
@@insomniagobrrr5542 No devs from the game have debunked that myth multiple times. Obsidians management was at fault for thinking 18 months was enough, a problem they have a history of (they asked for a delay on kotor 2 and told the devs to keep working thinking they'd automatically get it. They did not and kotor 2 ended up half finished). Devs have also said they didn't start tempering the games vision and moving to bugfixing until a few months after they should have, leading to the very poor release state. Add in a lot of other internal issues (their only way of tracking bugs for some time was writing them down on post it notes) and Obsidian has admitted the issues they faced were almost entirely from within.
