Lol mate, it's a He, not She :) Sr. Ian Gillan, one of the best voices ever to grace us with his presence :)
In this song he was phenomenal 🌹but the voice of DIO is just a bless ! With R.BLACKMORE they are the best 😉😉🥰
Dont pause all the time ! Deep Purple MasterpiEce !
Great observation man, in pop and Hip-Hop everything revolves around the vocalist. In rock metal blues and jazz the vocalist is just another member.
Loving the channel and reactions man. Any chance you could take a look at Rory Gallagher please Philby is an interesting start though later in his career so much to choose from his back catalogue . Thanks again.
visualpossibilities if the vocalist is great then not just another member
Allen Saunders if all the other musicians are great also, then yes, the vocalist is just another member. Personally, if I go see a band with a great guitarist, and the singer didn't show up, I might not even notice.
visualpossibilities i sure is hell would notice if the singer wasn't there
In a hip-hop concert, are there usually other musicians besides the vocalist?
Deep Purple, one of the most important Hard Rock bands of ever, also one who helped to create the classic Heavy Metal
Oh God...each of them was a top notch of their instruments...nothing there is dope...That man on solo guitar is monster ,one of the best guitar players of all time.Singer in his prime went through 6 octaves...They are synonim of hard rock music.Today's metal and rock bands bow head when you mentioned them Deep Purple.Even Metalica,Guns and roses...to not mention newer like Foo fighters,System of down etc. are "small" comparing to Deep Purple.
LOL!!! I don't think you quite grasp the meaning of "dope."
Jon Lord on the Hammond organ. RIP
That was the era of the extended jam, where rock bands would go off into weird and wonderful long musical expeditions, with or without the singer.
So true
The studio recording this in 1970 didn't have the technology to drown out crowd noise back then so they told the audience to be quiet during the song. There are plenty of other performances where they let the people get up and dance like they would at regular concerts.
There's a lot of other live performance videos on YT of Deep Purple where you can see the crowd up dancing, moving, shaking, what have ya...but this was just a truly great performance with them all at the top of their game....Really special!! :)
Well i always listen to this song 5 times :1 time for the drums ,1 time for the guitar,1time for the singing,1time for the bass guitar,1 time for the hammond organ
it´s HARD ROCK but also it´s something like proto-heavy metal >:D
That's exactly right man.
Actually, psychedelic rock...
@@Prozak63 Yeah this was from their first hard rock album, before that they were more prog/blues. Can still hear that influence in this song.
It's almost 50 years ago, in a tv-show. People in the audience were told to be quiet and in those days we were still obediant! ;)
What kind of music? It's hardrock, but starting as a ballad. Simular to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven.
No...stairway to heaven is similar to child in time hold in time 1968, stairway to heaven 1971
MrLightning59
why insult the “Child in Time” by comparing it with some fucking “Stairway to Heaven” ?!
Long hair was the sign of rebellion back then, especially messy unkept hair. I went thru this stage in the 80’s.
Lol you don't dance to Deep Purple, you smoke that purple and get lost in the music
We DID dance to deep purple
In rock music, the singer knows he’s just a part of the equation, and that to project true power in the music, he needs to bring it when it works, and shut up when the band needs to shine.
this is, in my opinion, one of the best songs ever written!!
It's super common for a singer to sit back and let the band do their thing. Especially in metal, rock, and any kind of progressive music. I've seen the singer walk off stage and take a break while the band stays out and just kills it.
Agree! It's because they're all musicians unlike most of today's "bands". Now they buy their songs from someone who just churns out crap that they think will get air time on the radio, sample half the music of bands like Deep Purple and then autotune the vocals. Watch this back again... They're playing everything live, the music is tight as hell, Ian Gillan is screaming a song the band wrote themselve, in tune and not lip syncing. You'd be hard pressed to find a pop singer doing that. Brittney Spears, Rihanna, etc. are too busy shaking their asses to actually perform. The only one I know that really brings it is Pink. She throws down like nobody's business.
Michael Smith don't sleep on Lady Gaga. She writes and plays all her own shit and writes music for everybody else.
Michael Smith there are plenty of talented rock bands out there search instead of bitch
Michael, you re right all the way but still........................ruclips.net/video/jEKg9qyEQmw/видео.html
Yeah, Gillan was off getting laid.
Audiences back then just sort of politely watched and then clapped at the end.
A lot of them might have been to high, to do much else.
This German audience heard it, or indeed something like it, for the first time, ever.
You have to STOP pausing and just listen to the songs.
This live version is very simular to the studio one, shows how good they are.
further great Deep Purple songs are
- Hush
- Perfect strangers
- Smoke on the water
- Highway star
- Burn
Burn is not DP, if it's not Gillan singing it's 100% not Purple.
This are by far my favorite DP number, got so meany layers, good choice for a first time listening too DP 👍🏻
This was the early days of Heavy Metal...
Yes! Metal was around b4 the eighties!
This is from 1970 before we stood in honor of masters of this realm.
@RRT: Deep Purple is legendary and one of the groups that so meany heavy metal bands cited as an influence. They would be rock or hard rock at the time. The guitar player, Ritchie Blackmore, brought a lot of classical influence to rock music such as chord progressions and modal tonalities. He later played with Ronnie James Dio in Rainbow, another amazing group.
The keyboard is a Hammond B3 organ with a rotating Leslie speaker and is great in heavy rock music. Derek Sherinian makes great use of them in his work with Dream Theater. The albums "Falling Into Infinity" and "Change of Seasons" have some great heavy rock organ on there.
Oh, the reason Ian Gillian sits back and lets the band play is that Ian Gillian > Beoynce. LOL
Seriously though, the big difference is that Benoce is a solo act and she has to have it all about her. Deep Purple was a band and a great on at that. That means that members know when to sit back, let the song breathe, comp a bit and let the others shine to take the music in another direction.
Deep Purple is one of the Forefathers of Metal...Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin....
David Stone evetybody according to metal heads is the forefathers of metal this is more like hard progressive rock if it needs a label enjoy it for what it is
Certain songs from this album are pure Metal, Bloodsucker, Speed King etc, DP invented Heavy Metal when they released In Rock.
...and Uriah Heep.
In the blues, and jazz especially (and this is actually a really good example of jazz-influenced rock) everyone got solo, and to a great extent rock & metal is still like that. You get a bass solo, you get a drum solo & you get a guitar solo (mostly, more than one). Keyboardists get one if you have one. Everyone gets a chance to shine (which was especially true in Frank Zappa's band).
British TV in the 70's didn't allow for kids to do what they do, and were probably told to stay still.
You shouldn't worry about what "kind" of music it is, just worry about two things:
1: Do you like it?
2: Would you listen to it again?
Eventually, you'll start categorizing it yourself.
we have to protect our form of art, long live rock-n-roll.
Yes man, bands from back then especially the unholy trinity involving Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin, had huge instrumental sections in many very long songs such as this one. They do this to display ALL band members talents. Most of these bands, every musician perfects their craft. These guys, are fucking legends.
Deep Purple somehow invented Hard Rock. The audience didn´t know this kind of music.I grew up with this song and allways loved it. It´s pre-Queen, but only a few years. They were formed in 68 if i remember well and had a few hits. Most of the members later formed Bands like Rainbow and were succsesfull again. It´s simply Hard Rock.
England, man, they just used to sit still and watch, lol. I couldn't sit still!
"I could do that shit... I can't do that shit" lol, The Song most people know this band for is "Smoke on the Water"
wow Deep Purple, one of the pioneers of heavy metal, what a great musician was Jon Lord. Lazy or Pictures of Home are greats songs
The sound is good quality enough in your video - proper volume level - thanks.
nice choice. Talking about young soldiers in Vietnam not being fully aware of what they are doing, shooting blind, watch for the return fire, ricochet..."did you do bad I bet you had", hard not to in that war, saying basically sweet child (the young kids going to war) in time you will learn and the wailing is him crying for them because they know not what they do, yet, but they will. imho. My interpretation of the lyrics.
these are eerily similar to Lost in Vegas' interpretation, and posted on the same day they posted their video. hmm...
Being that thirsty for likes is kinda sad
Song is about the Cold War, not the Vietnam War, hope this clears things up for you ?
there wasn't a cold war when this came out in the early 70's. This was Vietnam. I grew up in this time period.
@@briangardiner1015 Ian Gillan the singer said it's about the Cold War not Viet Nam
Back in the day, studio audiences were discouraged from "interfereing" with performances, especially live ones. I wore out my Deep Purple 8 track tape, blasting out from my Jenson 6x9 coaxials @ 8 watts per channel! Ahhh, those were the days.
7:00 they are kind of improvising on their instruments... But because they're playing the same key and in the same speed it sounds dope👌
The intro you hear is being played by an incredible musician and composer and not just a keyboard player, Jon Lord (RIP) who along with the guitarist extraordinaire Ritchie Blackmore, the powerhouse and finesse drumming of Ian Paice, the back rhythm of bassist Roger Glover and over the top and yet full in control silver throated vocals of Ian Gillan made Deep Purple one of the greatest hard rock bands in the world and are still rocking to this day (50 years later) although in a different incarnation. btw, the organ Jon is playing is Hammond C3. Deep Purple were pretty much a jam band so the voice complemented the music and not the other way around. Thanks for reacting to this. No, not dance music and when this came out this type of music was not yet called hard rock or heavy metal, it was called progressive music, not prog rock, which came later. Progressive because it fused different genres of rock, jazz and in example of Deep Purple, also classical (Jon was classically trained musician) and all except the drummer could read music.
another god reaction video man... its like sitting watching music videos with a friend who hasnt heard the song alot of the stuff i wouldnt of listened to on my own. thanks for sharing your time with others man
Frankie's CNC & Woodworking channel thanks for hangout with me. See you soon peace ✌️
Santana - Soul sacrifice live at Woodstock
I don't think the audience knew how to react. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better keyboard player then Jon Lord.
they were told by the band/producers to stay quiet so as to not ruin the recording. They didn't have noise cancelling technology yet.
Some of the best musicians in the world - in the same band 😎 Deep Purple is great 🤘
I think you really would enjoy The Eagles - Hotel California
Mr_c I know hotel California by heart 😂 great song
This song was that important for all time not just back then. We move to it now. it's about before Queen. With Zep and Sabbath. It's about the flack of those who really aren't so innocence which means all of us.
That was the fashion then the way the studio audience was dressed. Great musicians. Seen them live twice and they were awesome. Great drummer too.
Ian Paice is an absolute legend. John Bonham gets all the glory but Ian is right up there with him.
Oh and Ian Gillan (the singer) was also the original Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar (not in the movie obviously, but on the original concept album which came out before the movie and before the stage show), so if you like his voice, and if you like a bit of funky type of 70s rock, definitely check that out
Some like me (hey i like the Doors after all) say that its something between Classic Rock, psychedelic and hard rock, some say its pure hard rock... Back then there was no Hard Rock, metal genre etc so Rock bands used to experiment alot.. one song could be categorized as hard rock, the other one as psychedelic, another one as pure rock and another one as metal... so every answer is correct.
Men with long hair, few and far between at least where I live. I really liked this, A LOT! Incredible talent. Snap a hip 😆
Sebastian Bach, from Skid Row, had some of the most beautiful hair. Even at 50, his hair is really pretty. My daughter and I are both jealous. Well, I should say we are jealous of all the old rockers, who had beautiful long hair. It needs to be brought back. ;-)
Where do you live? I'll visit.............. oh lord that was creepy, even I got shivers.
Gail T I've hair like the singer, is that long hair for a man?
I feel you - a lot of my favorite rock bands don't take themselves too seriously all of the time (System of a Down, Rush, Queen, David Bowie, Thin Lizzy) ... I love music that is heavy and fun. Of course, there's a time and a place for more serious topics too... Anyway, nice reaction, again! Keep on keeping on :-)
Deep Purple style is hugely varied. This particular track could be put in the progressive rock category
Prog Rock thru the 70’s I’d say most bands had a lot of instrumentals, 20% - 80% instrumentals.
RRT, That video was shot I believed in 1970 when Deep Purple was in their mid to late 20's. I believed this song is in genre of Protest - Psychedelic merging into Progressive Rock. This song had meaning especially during height of Cold War and Vietnam still raging on with students across the country were protesting that war.
About "moving to this type of music":
THIS BAND ALONE was the Responsible for Japan taking the seats out of their Music Halls and Stadiums, because when they recorded "Made in Japan" at budokan, for THE FIRST TIME the japanse crowd (who to this day are known for being very quiet and polite) stood up for their seets, and wrecked the Stadium fences so they could get closer to the band and groove to the music. Deep Purple was not even that famous yet, it was their debut, but TO THIS DAY there are Pubs and Cover bands in Japan that rehearse and play live EVERY WEEK trying to reproduce flawlessly the "Made in japan" Live shows, it was in 1972, and it was so big f a thing, that almost 50 years later those shows are still in peoples lives. Thera re books on the recording techniques and every thing.
SO, YEAH! YOU CAN DANCE AND MOVE TO THOSE SONGS!!!!!!!!!! ; )
I enjoyed your reaction. I've loved this song for years, it from the Album Deep Purple in Rock, and it sounds the same on the album... When the album came out in 1970 it blew us all away, and turned each member of that line up into a Legend of Rock... Purple had previously recorded Concerto for Group and Orchestra, written by Jon Lord, their organist, live at the London's Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Sir Malcom Arnold, now with this album IN ROCK the group felt the need to get back to their roots...
Many of these early live film clips were done at the BBC Studio Sessions and the audience were specifically instructed to remain silent.
man, i lkie the way you express yourself, i didnt think i would sbscribe, but thumps up m8.
"Usually that motherfucker won't shut the fuck up"
That made my week. Truth.
My GOD It's a Hammond B3, the Organ of Rock, Blues and Prog Bro !!! Deep Purple was a Hard Rock Band with Bluesy tones.
Ah a B3! I thought it was an L Series. Thanx for that.
The studio version from the 1970 album Deep Purple in Rock is a work of art.
I laughed when Ian Gillan gets pissed off when the camera man came too close. When a cameraman did the same to the guitarist during a festival in California (1974) Blackmore smashed it up with his guitar. He then had to escape from the police into a helicopter afterwards. The bands fee was eaten up by a bill for the huge cost of replacing the TV camera 😀. Ritchie also nearly blew himself off stage at the end of the same show when he blew up his amp. The roadie used too much petrol and caused a huge fireball which also blew the drummers glasses off. Them were the days!
They could’t do this song justice here in front of an audience who probably had never heard music like that in their lives.
Some more trivia ... The legendary Manchester United footballer George Best is in the audience. He was a fan of the band. They play Speed King in this TV session too. I think there is a shot of him during that song.
I think that Jon Lord was playing a Hammond B organ during this song.
The audience was certainly of mixed age, from early teen upwards.
And the reason they were all quietly sitting there is because it was a serious music-based TV show, and back in the day it was kinda considered to be good manners at such events to just sit and quietly pay attention to the music and then show appreciation once each song ended.
So while it doesn't look like it to a modern point of view, where we might expect to see people dancing in the aisles and headbanging or whatever, in this case the audience were still very likely enjoying the music a great deal.
And yes, Deep Purple are definitely considered by many to be one of the best ever rock bands. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.
The organ was a Hammond B3, the mainstay of most bands of the era and the bane of road crews everywhere due to their size and weight.
8:20 Dude, he's a he! Mr. Ian Gillan! 😂
"when you have a singer, usually that motherfucker won't shut the fuck up"
You had me laughing so hard with that comment ! So many musicians out there get exactly what that means! So true that too many vocalists are primadonnas.
Gillan ( the singer ) has always said that he consider Deep Purple an instrumental band, so therefore he learned to play congas so he could join in the sometimes very long improvised songs. A song could one night be 15 minutes the next 25 minutes. Still today Deep Purple tours and records and plays over 100 shows all over the world each year and the never play any song exactly the like twice.
Last two albums (now what 2013) (Infinite 2017) have both been epic
RRT, doing good, hope you are OK! This is one of the bands I grew up on, and Deep Purple was dope!!! Yes, the singer Ian Gillan usually gave the band their time when it was his time to shut up. Out of respect they did that, and back in the those days, yes those kids listening are very young, and very old clothes! If you notice back then when in front of a small audience it was respectable to just sit and listen. Later on that's when things got crazy! lol This was more of a bob your head type thing. This song was kinda eh to me also, but Deep Purple got some deep shit. Give them another listen to some of their more popular stuff. They really are dope.
Deep Purple are an English rock band formed in Hertford in 1968. The band is considered to be among the pioneers of heavy metal, and modern hard rock, although their musical approach changed over the years. Originally formed as a progressive rock band, the band shifted to a heavier sound in 1970's.
Deep Purple, together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, have been referred to as the "unholy trinity of British hard rock and heavy metal in the early to mid-seventies". They were listed in the 1975 Guinness Book of World Records as "the globe's loudest band" for a 1972 concert at London's Rainbow Theatre, and have sold over 100 million albums worldwide. The guitar player is Richie Blackmore who played for the band called Rainbow that he formed in 1975, which is one of the bands Dio sang in. Super dope band!! Anything Dio sang in was dope!! That's all I have to say about that!! As usual, great reaction to a song that brings back lots of memories for me! Peace!
What he said LOL Blue Cheer wasn't as big as the Trinity but they also fall into this category as well
Eddie Schulz, I'm a she, not he. Not a big deal, but just thought I'd clarify that. Have an awesome day!
hey dude, if you like this song from DP, with all the deepness of the instruments, you have to listen to DP´s "lazy" live (1972?) song. Keep discovering that great music.
I have noticed that when you are confused on what kind of music it is; the majority I would label "Prog Rock". Which according to dictionary.com means: a style of rock music popular especially in the 1970s and characterized by classical influences, the use of keyboard instruments, and lengthy compositions. Tool, Pink Floyd could be argued to be prog rock.
On a Side note, I watch these reactions to see people react to music that brings out a reaction. I think your genuine curiosity and analytical style is what makes your channel my fave. How much of your newly discovered music has seeped into your own personal listening? Have your friends started to listen to new styles of music?
46 million views on one channel for this video. Epic song.
This crowd is trippin'. lol. I couldn't sit still for this music, especially when it picks up the tempo.
I'm sure you've heard Smoke on the Water at some stage in your life
Hey Man Great You did This song LIVE - Its gloriouss Glad you Enjoyed it - DEEP PURPLE are one of the Best Live Bands Ever-Much Better Live then in the studio -This song is Much better live -For The Best Version of this ever -Type in CHILD IN TIME -DEEP PURPLE From MADE IN JAPAN Live -METALLICA Drummers Favourite All Time Band -This Band . is a Big Influence on METALLICAS IRON MAIDENS Composition wise Especially This Song
Here's a few other Deep Purple songs you might like to check out:
Highway Star, Black Night, Hush, Burn, Woman From Tokyo, Space Truckin', Strange Kind of Woman, Mistreated
After guitarist Ritchie Black more left, they brought in the late Tommy Bolin (ex James Gang ex Zephyr, solo) You might check out Gettin' Tighter. It's a little on the funky side.
Blackmore later rejoined the band for another short stint. One of the better songs from this period is, Perfect Strangers
Burn and Mistreated are not Deep Purple, if Ian Gillan isn't singing it's not Purple, just an average singer trying to milk the glory of the mighty Gillan
The "piano" is an 'L' Series Hammond electric organ. Cheers!
I have since been informed that the organ is actually a Hammond B3 model!! Rock on!!
About the comparison with Beyonce and today’s other solo artists: the thing about music in the ‘60s and ‘70s-that ‘classic rock’ period-is that it was as much about the music as the vocals. These were BANDS who wrote songs together. A lot of the art was about the construction of the music and the virtuosity of the musicians-and how they interacted and played off of each other in a live setting. In a sense, the vocals were really just one more instrument. And every one of the members of Deep Purple were masterclass musicians. Back in those days, someone seeing a live band (especially someone who was into this kind of live music) expected the musicians to show their chops and what they were capable of on a stage. The music and musicianship were central to the song and performance-not an afterthought behind the vocals, as seems to be the case with too many artists these days.
Iconic band for sure
5:55, that shit in the background is the bass-guitar (4 stringed guitar, tuned one or two octaves deeper than a normal guitar) and the bass-player isn't playing with fingers, he's playing with a pick like the guitarist, so you can hear him very good
Ne Obliviscaris And plague flowers the kaleidoscope live...just awesome
From a little searching around, this British audience may have been there primarily for the other acts, (Cilla Black and Lulu) that the BBC were shooting for a TV show.
This is a great song to run with especially if you like to run fast. Also they are still touring. I have seen them in the 1987, 1991, 2002,, 2015.
The crowd was told to be quiet because they were recording it.
It was at the BBC and they were told to be quiet. This song It hard rock mixed with prog rock.
I have no idea how the TV station got this audience. It almost looks like they hijacked an audience who were there to see some kid's programing and just slid them over to another studio to see some long haired band. There is NO WAY those people were there to see Deep Purple! Glad you did this song. It's a great example of a tight rock band coming into their prime as a unit. As always, I appreciate your honest reviews.
Visual Animal the full set is on youtube. think they had been blown away by the previous song
They were instructed not to react to it because they are recording.
Nice reaction to a perfect song!
in these days it was just sitting back and going, man thats some good acid :)
there was an interview of a rock band back in the 70's who was talking about the crowds reactions, he said that crowds in the USA would never sit down and never stop cheering during the entire show, but everywhere else in the world - europe, asia especially- the crowds would sit quietly and only applaud when the band came on stage, between songs and after the show. There's some albums where you can hear that Made In Japan from Deep Purple is the only one I can think of now. I always thought that was hilarious.
Great job RRT
My reaction to that is you are dope brother.
There kids, but their reaction is understandable, they were hearing something for the first time, this kind of music was ground breaking for it's time
great song choice regardless of whether you liked it or not. This song is well loved by fans around the world maybe more so outside the US. All of the band members are great musicians, well respected and influential. They were probably around 25 years age here. The audience were probably kinda stunned hearing this song for the first time, this was an insanely innovative song at the time. Some of the lyrics are "bullets flying..." "if you've not been hit ... by flying lead." "You'd better close your eyes ... oh, you'd better bow your head... Wait for the ricochet." The singer is singling and screaming melodically, exactly like in the record. This song is so well loved that in other countries singing contests when someone dares to sing this song the judges get all excited and they want to turn around quick (The Voice). This is a type of Rock that they practically invented - but this is not a typical song for them, usually fans like Deep Purple for this guitar player ... and at that time also the keyboardist and the drummer too, the three of them. Of course the singer is amazing here. I don't think anyone will sing this song in a U.S. singing contest the audience would be confused, but they sing it in other countries (imagine that - whoah).
Everyone wanted each to let their gift come alive. Always bands worked together and for eachother.✌️☮️
don't stop the music, never.
Jon Lord played a Hammond organ through a Marshall amp.
Space Truckin is a 20 min song on this album. The song is about the war, the army shooting Kent State student protesters, the riots. They are young kids who probably wanted to hear Smoke on the water. Also, you couldn't dance and if you were too rowdy the police standing out of sight would stop the band arrest people. It was the time of watergate The president using the government power to spy on crush people he didn't like, like protesters news people singers That's why video games were created to keep people from watching TV make them care more about playing Atari than voting. We nearly drained the swamps. the president resigned because of impeachment, The vice president was caught evading Taxes had to leave too We got Gerald Ford.
Brilliant tune
What's out the window behind you? Thanks for another great video.
Mike van buren a construction yard. Extremely loud.
This is a European audience, they are notoriously laid back and- is polite the right word?
Back in the 70's maybe also 80's in Finland it was forbidden to stand up in some concert halls. Security came to put you back in the seat if you stand up cheer the band. Legend tells that in 1974 Brian May of Queen fed up with the security pushing people back seats and played really loud screaming sound right to one of security guys. He immediately left he's place keeping hands to ears.
its a tv show too, we arent all sit down and cross our arms kinda people. well, maybe they were, or just stoned out their minds, who knows.
This audience is pretty comatose, even for a tv audience. This was filmed in Manchester, England.
Being a TV show a lot of these people may not even know who Deep Purple was, or most probably were not fans.
Great vid. I am not too big on 60s rock. Hippies were strange. It was so new too. People were not big on moving around big time then..
I wish I were your neighbor. Each day we would get together & talk. I would guide you so you would have a timeline of what was going on in the world, how music\musicians responded & so on. Bands of this type; Led Zeppelin, had an intro middle, altro of just instramentals. You were spot on about today's artists not letting the musicians shine. Music is my life. I Love Rap, love it. I listen to every kind of music there is. Music is my best friend. This song is about the horrible effect on children WAR has. This song was in 1972. The Vietnam war protests, social uprising. This song takes you on a journey. Bullets flying, keep your head down..his wailing is the heartbraking over all the death of Vietnam War. Music goes faster..you feel the pace of groups invading, then drum goes da, da da da da x. Dead bodies, children heartlessly killed. Then the intensity of music suddenly stops. Look around you. Burned villages, destruction, death. He starts singing..oh the visuals that singer was feeling, the TV full of news of the war. The Singer has tears coming down his face. Did you Notice That? The strange énding. Visualize a tank with a machine gun coming after you, the kids running, screaming as they are shot down. The Singer whiping away tears. This is a masterpiece of top musicians, all in tune with each other as bands were in those days. Each instrument was a sound of war. 🌸🌻🌼 Peace Brother.
Stari Night would be nice to speak with someone interested in music. ✌️ thanks for feedback 😃
The singer Ian Gillan said it's about the Cold War not the Viet Nam War
This is the real shit!!! Facts
Great observations letting the band do it's thing. Today the singer won't shut the fuck up. Brilliant
Classic rock, heavy metal
Love your reactions Rap Rat .
Electric JC ty appreciate that. Peace ✌️
