Ian Gillan is the singer and he is the best.. also the audience was asked to remain seated during the performance because it was being recorded for broadcast..this song was written and recorded in 1969.. it is about the Vietnam war and the cold war that was going on at that time.

You should hear Ian Gillan(vocalist)as Jesus Christ. He played Jesus on the original album released back in 70. Amazing. Treat yourself especially the song "I only want to know"

Maybe you forgot that you reacted to this song 11 months ago, I saw that video but it’s ok cause this is one of those songs that never gets old with a great singer like Ian Gillan and extremely talented band members to bring out their great music

I think the recording was in a TV studio ... people had to be a bit civil. By the way, I had hair like that back then. Today I would look embarrassed with it ;-)
