Someone thought it would be funny to go around copyright claiming a bunch of videos (that don't have rights to the music) and RUclips apparently can't do anything about it, so I had to slap this message on top of the video. Having said all that, what is your favorite Deep Purple song?
My favorite is Highway Star, I heard it in GTA IV and thought it sounded awesome
All of them
My favorite is "Burn"
@@JoeWilger I have heard that one, but it's been a very long time
The crowd was told to be quiet because they were taping it. That's why they applauded when they were done
That is just mildly disappointing
@AceofBadeReacts true, but the album & song hadn't even been released yet, & with the amount of vocal demand on Ian Gillian the band & producers wanted to do the filming in 1 take. They needed the audience quiet for the audio quality
DEEP PURPLE LA MEJOR BANDA DEL MUNDO!!!
Ellas son fenomenales
TV audience was told to be still and quite as it was for TV, kinda just how it was at the time, possibly due to quality of recording equipment?
I think a few of them might have just been kind of mesmerised.
There is also a chance this was on a show where the audience didn't come to see Deep Purple specifically, however that part is just an idea of why hypothetically an audience might not be going for it. Probably they knew who they were seeing.
Lead singer is Ian Gillan. Amazing voice
Jon Lord on the organ, the guy could shred it when he wanted to.
Richie Blackmore lead guitar. Great guitarist and also shredder. Later formed the band Rainbow.
Roger Glover Bass. Don't know a lot about him.
Some other amazing high energy Deep Purple songs:
- Highway Star
- Lazy
- Space Truckin
- Knockin on your back door
- Smoke on the water (likely the most famous guitar riff of all time)
- Burn
I mean I guess that makes sense. That's still insane though. I would have been freaking out. This is also the first time I've seen them, too so maybe that has something to do with it. Thank you for the information.
I don't think they were under rated as they were considered to be one if the greatest and most influential bands of their era. Right up with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath.
Yeah I read something today about them being part of the unholy trinity, with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. I just don't hear enough people talking about them, to be honest
@@AceofBadeReacts Maybe there might be more of a case for saying that Black Sabbath were under-rated. Although they were hugely popular with their fans and with the rock press, they were badly thought of by the more mainstream media, who just considered them devil worshippers and a bad influence on the youth. They didn't get just how talented they were and how great the music was, or the fact that most of their music is exactly the opposite of devil worshipping, mainly warning against the dangers of evil.
@@darrencooke4207 Maybe misinterpreted might be more appropriate as opposed to underrated for Black Sabbath
Do you know that they sold twice more albums worldwide then Black Sabbath?
@@user-cc4kw1tt9j I don't really know much of anything about Deep Purple. I definitely did not know that
One of the reasons why they are my favorite !
Which reason is that?
This is one of the few hard rock groups I enjoyed in the 60's-70's. "Smoke On The Water" is their most popular song. Everyone has heard that famous riff. Some of my favorites are their covers of Joe South's "Hush" & Neil Diamond's "Kentucky Woman". Also like "Highway Star", "Woman From Tokyo", "Lazy", "Fireball", Speed King", "Space Truckin'" etc.
I think I saw somewhere that Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath were the unholy trinity or something. With this kind of energy, I don't doubt it.
Deep purple's been my fav. Rock band along with led zeppelin, rainbow, and black sabbath since i was a 80's kid
All solid choices. Although I have never heard of Rainbow
There was a time when bands were made up of truly magnificent artists!
I think there still are, but a lot of the older bands are getting too old to play now
@@AceofBadeReacts About 5-6 years ago I went to see them, again, in Concert. Spectacular!
@@nhoelyagalan675 It's cool that they are still around
Le pidieron a la audiencia que se mantuviera en silencio. Ésto fué grabado en vivo por la BBC de Londres.
Ian Gillan es un cantante de nivel superior. Todo Deep Purple es simplemente único!!
💜💜💜💜💜
Eso todavía me desanima, pero lo entiendo.
best Album they produced was live "Made in Japan"
That's pretty cool. What makes it their best?
You're the first one who's caught that being in Twister.
Really? That's kind of cool. It just sounded really familiar and I went and looked it up. I loved that movie as a kid
@@AceofBadeReacts and I love it as a grown-up. In the movie they show Purple live with this song, but it's not the right lineup, it's Mark lll Deep Purple. Hopefully you'll keep going down the Deep Purple rabbit hole and see. Peace
@@notgivennotgiven7776 Interesting. Wikipedia says it's from California in 1974, but they didn't play the song during that concert
@@AceofBadeReacts you won't be disappointed when you get to that lineup either.
@@notgivennotgiven7776 Sadly I was disappointed I got used to the best vocalist in Ian Gillan and David Coverdale was not my cup of tea
This band influenced many..including Iron Maiden, Judas Priest - metallic, Queen and Aerosmith.. just to name a few.
This is why I like to learn from the comments
Deep Purple is a great group, more popular in Europe than America. You should also check out the guitarist's next band he formed called Rainbow. Also a very underrated group that started off with vocals from the late great Ronnie James Dio. Songs like "Stargazer", "Gates of Babylon", "Catch the Rainbow", and "Man on the Silver Mountain" plus many more are worth the time to check out.
Interesting. I've never heard of the band. I've heard of Dio though. I'll add them to the list
@@AceofBadeReactssounds good, If you want to really get blown away, check out their live concert footage. The 1977 Munich concert songs "Mistreated" and "Catch the Rainbow" show just how good this group was.
They were also very popular in Canada
It's an anti war song.
They did have a problem with members having different ideas of where the band should go creatively, changing members and eventually splitting up.
They were pretty popular on radio in metro Detroit, Michigan during the 70's when I was young.
Yeah it looks like they split up for about 8 years and then got back together
