For me an interesting Live, especially the military, police, security discussion. I spent 10 years in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps working and training dogs, then joined the police and again worked a GP dog and a cadaver dog. After retiring from the police I worked as an operations manager for a security company with dog handlers.
All three roles are very different but don’t ever think the police look down on security dog handlers, I have met and worked with some very very good security handlers who’s dogs were far better than a lot of police dogs.
I would love to go back to working a security dog but at 57 I couldn’t deal with working nights again.
