What a terrific experience. If you don't go out in the field/woods you aren't going to get the blessing & privilege to enjoy such an experience. It is nice to see on video but to be there.....just nothing like it. Happy hunting fellow hunter.

I cover my face and hands when hunting from the ground. It works every time. I shoot them from 10-40 yards away . Strictly shoulder shots. I also keep a tree at my back.

I always like the way you're able to get on them on the ground. I have a box blind across a creek that is downhill from a 30-foot high ridge hill that runs N/S. Deer always come out from the ridge into my lane to eat corn I put out. I was thinking of going down the ridge back where I see rubs/Scrapes and sitting in some brush. The reason being is I can't get the mature bucks I have on camera a night to pop out in my lanes. Figured I'd try what you did here to see if I can get on them. Of course I understand you got on top of does here, I'm hoping it works for bucks.

Here in AB Canada we typically shoot shoulder default, you lose some meat but the deer doesn't run far. Especially for elk or moose.

I have watched this video and all your other videos and I have a idea .. I think it would be really cool to have pictures from your videos and your trail cameras and put them behind your mount . All I have ever seen was beautiful deer heads on the wall . I really think they would look much cooler with pictures behind them . The pictures would tell the story about that deer .

A prosperous day. It ain't always about the killing. Imagine what you would have missed not being in the woods. That set was ate up with Poke Berry. Have a half acre of black berries planted near my house and scattered Poke Berry. Buck came in there and rubbed and pushed every one of them to the ground. Didn't touch any other trees.

Trailcams....they can get so annoying! But its nice to know what's out there.
Catman, I feel that angst. I had two cameras like that Wednesday. One had nothing. I guess I forgot to turn it on. My most expensive one took five photos of a buck and some does on day one then shut off with brand new batteries! No idea what caused that.
How close was that six point? That was some great footage.
I've had 2 ruined by deer...antler right through the sensor!
I put mine up as high as I can reach and put a little piece of stick behind at the top and angle it down. Deer can't reach them and they don't notice them as much. Makes it alitte harder for people to spot also.

Can you wear camo orange? Might be less noticeable against the dark background. Maybe you like to really stand out on public land, but I always wear the least amount of blaze orange the law allows. Thanks for the great videos - you do a great job!
I honestly haven’t noticed a difference between orange during gun season and full camo during bow season. If I’m not covered well, they’re gonna see me anyway. They don’t seem to notice the orange any different.

What’s your favorite cover scent while hunting on the ground?
Almost never use any scent when hunting on the ground...sometimes I use Evercalm especially during bow season

I've had a lot of fun in the field myself carman!! Got my buck n doe here in Pa. I'm 56 now and have seen more buck in one season than the last 5 or 6 combined!!
I cant believe Pa only allows 1 buck and 1 doe that would suck here in va I can get 6 with my reg tags then you can buy as many doe tags as you would like
