I have a college project related to Braille and this was very useful for understanding how braille signage is currently made, thanks :)

Hello, I’m working on a wayfinder project and would like to incorporate Braille into the design. The materials used for the wayfinders are metal, specifically steel. I’m interested in achieving the traditional embossed Braille feel, rather than simply etching or cutting the Braille into the surface. Could you advise on how to best accomplish this?

If anyone's curious, the braille sign reads "mens washroom".

How often does the Braille insertion tool miss the holes like it did in your video. . . and shoot the raster sphere across the room?
When that happens, and it distorts the hole, you have to manually insert a new sphere... so how do you get it to fit the distorted hole? Superglue like the other auto-systems?
I want to upgrade to the Auto Raster system, but no one has developed a truly accurate system that won't mess up repeatedly. . . and having to re-do signs because the raster damaged the holes or having to superglue the raster into the damaged holes, just makes a lot more work and an ugly sign.

We have one of these at my work; accuracy hasn't ever been an issue, but pressure and hole consistency has been the most challenging factor. It is quite a bit of work to clean up shattered beads, whereas other beads around it may be inserted fine, or not inserted fully.
I'm sure it has to do with tool wear, and using various materials, but I do hope there is a way to adjust the inserter lowering velocity. Ours is much faster than the one shown.
If you keep a dedicated bit for each class of materials you should have better results.
