    I've always been a fan of Solution Finish and Over The Top (and then maintaining with something like Bead Maker or Ceramic Gloss), but it takes time. The one and done nature of this, and still being able to reapply in the future, has me intrigued. I know Yvan has always been a fan of Solution Finish, so him developing this feels like the next evolution in trim care. I was going to try Lithium Trim Cubes on my wife's X5, but I think I might switch to this instead.

      The trim cubes are also pretty nice to work with. DIY does look darker though.

    I've got a few areas on my '24 Civic Hybrid that could do with this, the lower side trims, scuttle panel where the wiper arms sit, front and rear lower bumpers and the rear wiper arm like yourself. They've been coated with Gtechiq Halo V2 buy I like the true black pigment in this, I like the finish also, the gloss isn't too heavy more like a deep black satin finish. Yvan and his team have produced another top tier product 👌

      Like all of their products this one should perform very well. The dye helps a lot with giving that deeper darker appearance.

    Technicias Choice also has a ceramic trim restorer with black dye.

    How do you think this would perform on polyurethane plastic? I have a front splitter I added to my car that is a flat black color semi-glossy, but it tends to show little like water spot type marks, I've used DIY polish on it and it revived it nicely, just wanted to see if this would work on other plastics that aren't like the traditional trim that you see around fender wells

      @MikeGDetailing  2 месяца назад +1

      It would probably work ok. I have not used it on smooth trim. the only thing I would say is to make sure you level it so you don't have high spots or streaks since it is smooth plastic.

    I really need to get some of that for my faded trim

      I will try it on more faded trim as well and hopefully have long term updates on it if possible.

    Another great vid Mike G. Wouldn’t it have been easier to coat the wiper trim if you pulled the wiper away from the glass?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  2 месяца назад +1

      Thanks. If I had a third hand I could have pulled it away form the glass. This rear wiper does not completely bend all the way back with this plastic trim cover installed if I recall correctly. My brother changed the wiper once long ago so going off memory.

    You're probably going to use hardly anything out of the bottle on a typical car or if only doing spot treatments where needed. So how long does it last after opening? Would be nice if these were in 10ml bottles instead to reduce product spoilage. Did I hear I still need to coat it for it to last, even though it's called restore &"Protect"?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  2 месяца назад

      DIY mentioned around 6 months after opening. It does protect. It has ceramic protection.

    How do it compare to poorboys ceramic ?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  2 месяца назад

      Poorboys is a very good trim ceramic coating. Does a good job and restores pretty well. I never tried it on severely faded trim so I am not sure how it would look in comparison to DIY which has a dye in it. Poorboys is definitely durable but I am not sure about DIY in that are just yet.

    I just picked up a 2020 VW Tiguan SE-R line. I can’t tell if the trim is black or grey. I think it’s grey.

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  2 месяца назад

      If it’s grey and are looking for a ceramic coating then poorboy’s gets my vote or the lithium trim cubes. If it needs restoration then maybe solution finish grey.

    Mike, at $60 (US) it better be good? For driveway detailers, Cerakote works well. In a business, MALCO Revive Nu, at $30 (US) , is a best buy, in my opinion. This product would be an up-charge for some customers?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  2 месяца назад

      Definitely an upsell to a customer. It does harden up on the applicator so it seems pretty stout.
