- Sali's Story: Growing Golf in the Pearl of Africa is a four-part series that follows Roger Sali, a 27-year-old Ugandan, and the incredible work he's doing in his home country to grow the game of golf. The sport has changed Roger's life and he believes that it can also change the lives of many others in Uganda with the proper exposure and access to the equipment needed to play.
Roger started caddying a few years ago when his father passed away and he needed to support his family. He fell in love with golf and quickly became a low-handicap player. On his one day off every week, using his own resources, he goes into local schools and communities and teaches kids the game. Roger’s personal goal is to continue to grow and learn as a teacher and become better equipped to teach kids.

Now this is what golf is about. A refreshing change from the expensive, water thirsty and excessively manicured exclusive courses we see all the time. I've always believed that golf should be one of the most accessible sports, all you need is a net setup like theirs to learn a swing and some space to hit a ball.
This is great stuff! Roger has a buttery swing and is passionate about sharing golf with his community. Fly this man to a PGA event and give him the royal treatment!!!!
This is how you grow the game. Been following his journey the past few years and I can't wait to see how far he goes!
Amazing to see guys like Roger and Nick growing the game...I hope their impact will be felt for generations.
Stories from humble beginnings are always very touching. Its nice to see how golf impacts different people from different parts of the world.
So glad that Roger is getting the recognition he deserves ❤
6:18 Ngl that swing was genuinely impressive haha
Who’s cutting onions 😭 very inspirational story and puts things into perspective for many of us. Such a humble guy and wish him all the success in the world ❤
It’s so much easier to learn a proper golf swing if you’ve never played baseball before. A lot of these guys have really good swings. You can see the raw talent. Hope to see them on tour one day
Yes, reacted to that too. Very natural looking swings
For ways to support Roger, follow him ...

Thank you for letting me officially never watch any event you ever put on again. Your commercials are misogynistic and racist and this is beyond racist propaganda. Hopefully that African market really reaches its full potential 🤣🤣. You’re a joke

Amazing story! We need more Rogers in this world. Golf is a great sport and it changes peoples lives.
There's a lot of talent everywhere.
Thanks for promoting.
I'm in tears it great tears it learning to play golf ⛳
Amazing video and certainly puts things into perspective. Just being able to play the game of golf is a great blessing.
Roger seems to be a wonderful young man. Real genuine with a kind heart. Also has a great golf swing. His tempo is so rhythmic!! Wow.
Roger is a true inspiration ❤
what a superb video, id bet this one video will change his life. hope to see the PGA tour do more content like this.
I really hope that every thing they need for playing or coaching is being donated to them 🙏🏼 if not how do we send clubs and gear to them ?
Roger and I have my fundraiser to raise money for kids and their families in Rumbugu on my Instagram - hope this helps
Why don’t you donate to your local girls team or someone that needs it in your own back yard. Because you’re swoon by propaganda
@@stevethegoat8619 Sali will appreciate it way more than any other girls team or anyone else in the states. There are plenty of resources Americans can turn too. Don’t tell people what to do if they choose to donate to someone in need regardless of location.
@@TheDevinstreet you’re truly an idiot

this guy deserves a full instruction by some of the greatest golf coach in the world, and by the way, he must be fitted and sponsored from a big golf brand... everything for free!!!
Wow, what a good series! About time to bring the game of golf to everyone. Great Job, Roger!
Those are absolutely fabulous golf swings.
I cried when he was showing the kids how to hit balls and seeing the look on their faces
Wow, there are so many talented people in Africa. Given opportunities, they will be in PGA tour someday in the future!
hermoso trabajo el que realizan! Yo amo el Tenis de Mesa (es el deporte de mi vida) pero uno de mis grandes sueños es algún día poder aprender a jugar GOLF!!!

How can we help by donating equipment. Would love to help this young man.
Roger seems very meek, God bless him
Exactly why I’m gonna watch the LIV tour from now on
why?
@@nanne27 and I’ll be doing what the NFL’s propaganda told me to: “End Racism”
Great swing and could be a great story, I will never know as turned it off in disgust when the Manchester United shirt appears
Hey man, this is completely separate to football. This is about kids, growing the game, and providing families education and money. At the end of the day, it is your choice
When does the next episode appear? ⛳️🏌🏼♂️
Next Tuesday, March 21. Thanks for watching.
I've got several old sets I'll donate if I get information on how to. Also balls and tees

These people need food and clean water, not golf lol
Ya but shut like this helps more than you know it creates opportunities
...do they look malnourished, y'all got to stop stereotypes about Africans. Y'all got issues with us embracing sports that your very own are successful with. I am proud to be in Uganda and particularly one that knows Rogers and has interacted with them on multiple golfing tournaments. Back off dream weaver.
I’m pretty sure the people in this do have food and water
There's lots of food in uganda. The kids there would love golf. But it's an expensive game lol.
we have more food
This guy is amazing!!
