Ive criticized your iron man build and I want to assure you that it was meant to be entirely constructive and apologize if I came off as abrasive.
Absolutely a different thing, no worries, I value the constructive comments, those are great and help me come at future builds with new ideas. The really mean ones go out of their way to be mean lol. I appreciate folks like you.

I absolutely agree. Jocat has done nothing but amazing things and made such awesome content. I was hugely influenced by his Crap Guide to DnD (specifically the paladin one). For so many awful people to not only have the audacity to slander him, but to harass his family? They must live shallow lives to do that. Thank you for giving thanks to those that matter. I've enjoyed your builds and have used a couple here and there for a while now. Thank you for your contribution to making this hobby more enjoyable.

Aw gosh I was heartbroken when I heard about all of this… I adore Jocat and actually discovered him through his Monster Hunter shorts before anything else :,3 which just made my experience 10 times better :,3 even went on to Always wear a wiggler helmet through most of my playthrough just because I loved it so much, loved him so much.
And also well done for you for creating such cool content!
It does always sting to get those harsh comments and I cannot imagine how Jocat must feel.

I actually use your Kratos Build in a recent campaign my friend started. I love your videos, Jo Cats, and DND shorts. I love DND and other RPGs. I have a plan to use more of your builds for the future not just for Player Characters but for some of my NPCs in my campaigns. Thank you for all the work you all do.

@@dndbuilds The sad thing with Tulok is he seems to have suffered a lot from the same kind of people you’re talking about here, to the point that he just feels so confrontational with his audience in recent videos, and it sounds like it’s one of the biggest reasons he’s pulling away so much. And while I’d love more build videos from him because I love his ideas and style, it’s just not the same when he’s not having fun with it too.
Awesome content creators like you are the only reason I find myself on RUclips. Anyone who feels it is appropriate to belittle or threaten another person online has more than one dump stat. It is truly unfortunate that things like this happen, and even more unfortunate that future works from a great content creator are forever lost as a result.

@@dndbuilds I love what you do. It sometimes helps me see some of the minute things from a different point of view. I have made several builds recently that were inspired by creators like D&D Daily and yourself. I tweaked them a bit to fit some campaign parameters, but the inspiration really helped. Keep doing what you do. I will for sure keep watching. I am sometimes inspired to create homebrew magic items tailored to these builds as well.

Keep doing the great work bud!!!! You do great stuff in this channel. I’ve used the build from Dante from Devil May Cry and Naofumi Iwantani from Rising of the Shield Hero. Currently in a new campaign with the Naofumi build along with a home brew system I created for him to balance him out in other aspects. It does suck that stuff like this happen and it’s very upsetting that some people actually take joy of being hurtful to others. I really love your channel man. Keep up with these awesome stuff. And side note the way your voice sounds is very soothing. Almost like a Morgan Freeman voice

That's even better, they tend to be a little OP at times so using them as BBEGs is perfect

I've always loved watching your DnD builds videos ever since seeing your Kakashi build and binge watching every other character. I don't watch every video but I certainly have watched most and watching them has greatly helped my understanding of building characters, albeit still flimsy when it comes to casters (*coughs* warlocks).
After seeing DnD Shorts video on JoCat's situation I felt deeply saddened as I got into DnD because my friend showed me his Crap Guide To DnD videos. And you mentioning saying positive stuff to our small creators reminded me The Ugly Goblin who's much smaller than you but his homebrew videos always keep me on my toes for Homebrew ideas I like to throw his way to consider, as I'm not good at writing any Homebrew yet
There are definitely some older videos of mine that are a little rough lol so power to you for going through that. I'll have to check out @TheUglyGoblin

Relatively new to your content, but I really enjoy the builds even if I don’t always 100% agree with some things about ‘em.
Even in those cases, it’s fun to think and talk about why and how could it be improved, which is great for the community of D&D!

The Jocat thing is rough. I ended up looking into it, and I can see why he got the hate. He meant well, but ultimately he said what he said.
At the end of the day, harassment should *never* be excused.
I heard that it was because of the "I like girls video" which seemed to me to just be like "I like girls of all types and appearance doesn't matter" which seemed like a fine message to me, but not sure if I missed something. Either way, don't think he should be harassed but was there more to it that I'm missing?
@@dndbuilds So, what I've been able to uncover was that there was some mess with streamers streaming the Harry Potter game, and they were getting harassed over it. (It's seen by some as anti-trans because of JKR.) So the streamers complained about the harassment.
JoCat posted something about harassment not being ok, but if you *were* being harassed you shouldn't complain because trans people have it worse. Many people took that as JoCat, in a backhanded way, saying the harassment was ok.
He released a Tweetlonger where he tried to clarify his intent, but it looked like people had already focused on him saying people being harassed should shut up because others had it worse -- and started harassing him. (Sort of applying his own argument against him.)
His "I Like Girls" video was just something they focused on. It looks like it was the result, not the causs.
And yes, it's toxic as hell. IMO, he should have just said harassment was bad. As soon as he threw a "but" in there, it was too late.
And no, I personally don't think he should have been harassed either. I really feel he meant well. I feel like he tried to denounce harassment while standing up for trans people. But, his phrasing was sort of terrible, and here we are.
I love the builds you do and have been planing to try and use a few of them in my games. Keep up the good work dude and let it be known I support you. 👍

I remember seeing a youtube short about how the guy makes negative comments work for him. Negative engagement is still engagement for RUclips's algorithm and when a comment is way to horribly toxic he will delete it so that when the person replies (and toxic attention seeking trolls will) "THIS GUY IS DELETING COMMENTS" you have just milked them for double engagement.
This is why I just don't comment when I don't like a video.
Yeah hate engagement is totally a thing, I'll try to look at it that way in the future to keep an eye out for that silver lining lol.

Sometimes its bots , sometimes its people that have way too much time on their hands ... and just want to troll . I love your channel . I think you do great builds . I wish one day we can play dnd . Maybe join my friends campaign or my friends and I we fly out and set a up a campaign . Lol . Keep doing what you are doing . The channel will get bigger . My only problem with the Jocat situation is (1st) he weirdly tries to hide evidence of the harassment, & (2nd) what is known of the harassment seems illogical and contradictory to the claimed groups doing it.
But it is also important to understand as a youtuber gets bigger.
The more they draw attention from the good crowds & bad crowds.

YES! This message is perhaps less eloquently stated as compared to DnD Shorts video, but just as powerful and amazing. I follow both of you guys and both of you instantly make my day better when I see the notification pop up. It is indescribably sad to see people have to quit the things that bring them joy just because other people out there seemingly get off on bringing negativity into others life. Absolutely, I feel as though DnD Shorts in general is probably a bit more composed and thought out in most of his videos rather than mine lol, I tend to sit in front of a microphone and just talk until enough content for a video magically happens lol. Unfortunately, that's what bullies do. They hate something about themselves, so they tear down other people to make themselves feel bigger. I had been bullied a lot when I was going to school. I am finally at a point at my life now where negative comments mean nothing to me. For any content creator, current and future, any negative remarks are just hollow, empty words to be ignored.
Sorry you had to deal with that, but I'm happy you managed to pull out of all of that so strong!

Wait, whats the JoCat context? Why was he being hated on?
He made a video saying he likes girls of all types... it was a fun little video, nothing crazy, and if anything it had a positive message in my opinion. But it led to all sorts of craziness, doxing, and harassment that was just nuts. He got to the point that he announced he's basically quitting all internet stuff.
