  • Throughout the Medieval period, there were many Queens of England who were dominated by their husbands who ruled as Kings. They were women who were consorts and had little power if any to change the fortunes of their nation, but they were seen by many as women who’s job it was to give birth to the heirs and the next King to rule over England. At the end of the Battle of Bosworth Field, the Wars of the Roses had come to an end. King Richard III had been slaughtered on the battlefield and with the crowning of Henry VII, the Tudor Period began and this was a dynasty who brought huge bloodshed, executions of Queens and massive amounts of change across the nation. But Richard III should never have been crowned King, and this is because of the scandal of the Princes in the Tower that occurred within the Tower of London. Two nephews of Richard III, and the rightful King of England Edward V disappeared presumably murdered inside the Tower upon the orders of Richard III their uncle who then seized the throne. This mystery has never been solved and has never been cleared up, but this meant that many saw Richard III as a usurper, and he declared the two princes illegitimate and he stated that this was because their mother Elizabeth Woodville and their father Edward IV had an invalid marriage based on the fact that Edward IV had a legal precontract of marriage with another woman. This woman changed history forever, and she could have been the Queen of England.

Edward was known to offer marriage as a lure, he even tried it with Elizabeth Woodville so it is quite likely he did the same with Eleanor Talbot. The big indication of the truth to the matter is that the Tudors actively destroyed all records of this, as Henry VII needed one of Edwards daughters as a wife to give him a legitimate claim to the throne, something that would be impossible if all the children of Elizabeth Woodville were illegitimate.

There is no proof that Richard ordered the murder of the princes in the Tower. More recent research shows that in all probability it was the Tudor fraction, as they had more to lose. Henry VII had no legitimate claim to the throne as he came from bastard stock on both sides of his parentage.
Richard was betrayed on the battlefield of Bosworth leading to Tudor gaining the throne.

Hi and much love from New Orleans ♥️⚜️♥️⚜️♥️ I recently watched several movies about the Tudor court. The vast and wild hairstyles had me wondering if you’d be willing to do a video on how ladies wore their hair- or if it was mostly hidden

It was always hidden in this period if you had your hair out you were considered either crazy or loose.
