  • The first Tudor Queen was Elizabeth of York and she married Henry VII following the defeat of King Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field. She was a woman who’s marriage united the two different sides of the Wars of the Roses, and it was believed that Elizabeth’s children would go on to secure the new Tudor dynasty on the throne for centuries. In Just over 100 years following the beginning of the Tudor Period, the dynasty had come to an end, and Elizabeth of York herself had suffered an early death. But she died inside the same walls of the Tower of London where two of her future daughters in law would lose their heads on the orders of her son Henry VIII. Elizabeth had a significant amount of heartbreak in her life following the death of her son and the heir to the throne Arthur Tudor, but she too died not long after plunging Henry VII into a horrific bout of upset and grief. But the true cause of the Queen’s death has been debated. But what is the disturbing postmortem of the First Tudor queen and how did she die.

    She died on her 37th birthday. I share her birthday. On my 37th birthday, I too was expecting. I was more fortunate than Elizabeth of York, as my baby girl survived and is a great blessing.

    Postpartum infections are still an issue today, potentially developing into sepsis if left untreated. That's why competent quality medical care is so important.

    What has happened to this channel? Click bait headlines "Disturbing Post Mortem" on every other video and badly constructed storylines that seem to have been lifted piecemeal from other articles resulting in repetition. At least read your articles through before you record them and avoid statements such as "she was treated with treatments" or that Ann Boleyn's "small hands and feet showed she had small hands and feet"

    Considering midwives and physicians didn’t know about germ theory, their hands were unclean so during the birthing process, bacteria could be introduced into the woman in labor. Puerperal fever was common.

    Too bad she didn’t live through Henry’s reign. She might have tempered his wrath & spendthrift ways.

      Like another recent “spare” Henry VIII had a very show off, pushy, uncontrollable need to be best, first& get away with unprince like acts. He resented his elder brother Arthur who was very smart & loved learning.
      After his father passed & he became king one of the first things he did was to push aside his scheming grandmother, Margaret Beaufort & marry Katherine of Aragon(who had been in limbo for years after Arthur’s death). Henry had the misfortune of having several head injuries & a leg wound as a result if jousting & wild doings with his group of friends.

    And this, Friends, is why no one should ever be forced to carry a child. It's not exactly Renaissance dangerous, but it's still dangerous.

    • @ladyagnes9430
      @ladyagnes9430 2 месяца назад +2

      She was not forced.
      She wanted another child after Arthur died. She felt the dynasty wasn't secure with only 10 year old Henry, & she didn't anticipate Margaret or Mary as a Queen Regnant( yet 2 of her granddaughters both outshines her grandson).
      She wanted another child. She had delivered 7 already. She was also deeply in love with her husband( as was he with her) & may have conceived even if they were not actively trying to.

      @@ladyagnes9430 She didn't have a choice. Quality birth control was unavailable. Even if it was, it was likely just as dangerous as giving birth to a baby. She had *ONE* job, to keep producing babies. The social pressure must have been immense.

      @@RobertEWaters He didn't want to show his guilt but he benefitted from getting rid of rivals for the throne who would attract disaffected nobles to rebellion. Also Richard III had killed a favourite Woodville Uncle of the boys and he knew from the boys reaction that they would take their revenge if they ever survived and got power.

      It would have been a short term victory as his wife & only sickly son were dead. And Richard was the only brother who was never a traitor to Edward. The children all loved him.
      Margaret thought she had direct line to God & he gave her permission to get Henry on the throne no matter the cost. She approached Elizabeth Woodville about freeing the boys. Her then husband was then in charge of the prisoners. The women plotted to free them while Richard chasing rebels was set, but went all wrong. The boy were then killed. There were bodies of two boys found under a star case years later that for some reason QEII would not allow dna testing done on. I believe they were cremated and are in a vase like thing in a church. Richard was no where near the tower at the time. His then very ill wife who hated Elizabeth Woodville swore she didn’t do it, but had been heard wishing them gone. Margaret’s overture to QE was too perfect. Her husband constible of the tower with access to the boys, his access allowed for their murder, Henry was waiting for clear weather with an army across the channel. This was her chance to achieve her God given goal.
      But did it work? Was Elizabeth Woodville smart enough to replace her second son with an imposter?
      Who was Perkin Warbeck?
