Hello Michael,I firstly want to thank you for the many hours of enjoyment that you have given me with all your travels. As a young 63 year old i have relived some of my own adventures of the past through you and has put a little bit of fire again in me so much so that i have gone and bought another 4x4 for future travels. There are a lot of RUclips channels out there but what made yours very special is the sincerity and humor that you have put into it.Your knowledge and advice is second to non and your filming is excellent.I wish i had the patiences that you have, as i know how much work there is in making good content. And i know exactly how you feel about mixing work with passion. So don't feel guilty for retairing and living as in a lurch!!!!!LOL,I wish you all the very best in the future whatever you choose to do and hope to see you around the tracks.

So Michael, there i was thinking that you were just warming up for things to come. I know what you mean about hobby versus work. I did it with photography when i was young. So what has Seek Adventure meant to me? As an older disabled person i couldn't begin to do the things you've been doing on the channel so it's been a great journey for me. And don't forget you've been a great ambassador for Australia too. What a beautiful, fantastic country. Life is about adapting, improvising, overcoming. So get out there and get on with it, mate. You've informed, entertained, inspired, motivated, ... us with this wonderful channel. The great thing is that new people will come across these videos and you will live on and on virtually still doing for them what you did so well for us. Your channel is a gift that will just keep on giving to an ever-expanding audience. And when I need a refresher and want to see what you did, how you did it, why you did it, ... I'll be coming back again and again to this jewel of a resource even if you never upload another video. Thanks for sharing your gifts.

I'm gonna swing the other way on this. While I can certainly understand your reason for leaving, part of me wonders why you wouldnt just cut back and put out less videos and on a scheduled basis. Instead of every outdoor activity being filmed, make it 1/4 and still put out killer content. If it is the end, I appreciate all the videos, were nice to see.
Don't leave your 70k subs down brother, take a breather, stop recording as much and put out scheduled videos. Have fun my friend and I appreciate it it all!

    • @rhyno6116

I agree with this sentiment. I can understand that it would become quite stressful to put out a vid each week (especially if you only have the weekend to do it) and that it would become a chore rather than somthing you enjoy doing but the frequency of vids is not why I subbed to this channel, I subbed because I enjoy your style and attitude. I don't care if the vids are once a month or less.
Thank you for all the entertainment and inspiration.

    • @alishabab3
      @alishabab3 5 лет назад +10

I disagree. This is his choice and to lose one's passion is a horrible thing and its hard to get it back. He had 72k subs and that's great but there have been people that left youtube with over 2mill subs and to me, that's a much bigger deal than leaving with 72k. He made amazing adventure tutorials and video maybe just leaves it at that and let him be himself. Doing youtube has its benefits and its downfalls and one the biggest downfall is trying to make as much content as possible to get paid and if you look at the top RUclipsrs it's like they have no life outside of youtube cause they constantly need to upload a video every day or 4 times a week..etc So job-wise people might work 5 days a week but as a RUclipsr that is trying to put as much content up as possible to get paid, they work 6 days a week. And think of all the video editing that goes into all Michael's videos he has to do after every video shoot to upload..

Well, I just turned on the puter, saw the "Seek adventure" notification, checked all the other stuff out first and then settled down to watch my favourite, SA.
    very disappointing indeed.
When I watch your videos, I always analyze, and try to work out how you did this shot and that shot and yes, I can see that there is a huge amount of work involved. Driving past your camera then going back to get it, the drone shots and then the endless hours of editing. You really have done an amazing job with your channel mate, and I so appreciate how much work is involved.

Hi. Totally get what this guy says at the end of the video about not being in the moment because of always looking for the next shot to film. I found this out when i was about the same age as him, that's when i stopped taking a camera out bush with me. 35 years later i team up with a man 10 years older than me to do a overnight hiking and camping adventure. He brings his camera and is always looking for a good shot to take, never ending, never in the moment with it all, always looking. Decades for me without the camera and just taking it all in being in the moment with it all had me wondering if this guy was mad or insane or something. What a difference. Thankyou for your videos, i really like your happy nature.

Michael, I only stumbled across your channel a few weeks ago and I've been hammering watching all of your videos in order since then. I seen this video pop up in my feed over that time and to be honest, I've been dreading it, as I knew that your videos were obviously coming to an end. You've been an inspiration to watch and can get anyone even thinking about camping or 4 wheel driving into a die hard fan and desperate to get out there. Even my 6 year old daughter regularly wants to watch your videos and now has a passion for camping, all thanks to you. Thank you for all your great videos and I hope in the time since making these and in the pandemic you've managed to still continue doing what you love. Hopefully, from time to time you might come back and give us some updates. Thank you also for the great tips and tricks along the way.

YES! You know, what truly matters! Happy new year and keep enjoying life the way you're passionate about, and always be true to yourself!
Thanks for all what you've shared with us, even if this might be the last adventure. But since videoing is another passion of yours, I'm pretty sure, we'll get to see some little video once in a while.

I have been binging your videos for the last few months, definately one of my favorite channels. Watched this video now and realised that its more than a year old. Damn! I just want tp thank you for the videos, my family and I are immigrating to WA in Jan, your videos gave me comfort as we have a passion for the outdoors, to be honest you got me extremely excited about the move. As there are external issues pushing us out of our home country, not that we want to go, but now we are ready to go. A big thank you!

Just watched one of your videos and absolutely loved your personality and the fact that you always have a smile on your face! I decided to watch your most recent video to be saddened by finding out you quit, while you showed the highlights of your channel it felt like I was there from the beginning. I hope you enjoy to continue exploring the outdoors without worrying about recording, I'll miss you buddy

You’ve always been informative and entertaining which is hard to do at the same time. I’m going to miss having new content but I’m glad your going off to Seek Adventure 👍🏻

Thank you Michael. I have followed you since the early days and you've been a big inspiration for me to plan and get ready for an up and coming big adventure of mine that I've always wanted to do. After a traumatic workplace accident in early 2017 I've spent a lot of time watching RUclips, with your channel always being there and watched as soon as possible. I wish you luck and joy in whatever you do. You set out to inspire people to push their limits, so take comfort in knowing you've succeeded. Thank you, and those around you.

    Throughly enjoyed your channel.
It’s helped open a broader view of the awesome Australia we live in.
Most of all I appreciated the effort you put in to make this a preferred channel to visit, and the learning you shared helped me and other members of my family to learn important stuff, select good gear based on a voice we trust and products you tested.
Your regular face on RUclips will be missed. Wishing you every success for the future. Personally and selfishly I’ll keep my fingers crossed that every once in awhile you get a hankering to publish another adventure that we all get to share with you.
    Thanks for your contributions!!!

    Hi Guys,
For all of you that are concerned about Meischa and Michael still being friends.
We were on our way to the Fatboy Slim concert today (02-02-2020) and we saw Michael and Meischa leaving Little Cs Restaurant in Hillarys and they were having a ball. So we thank you for your great channel and all the sound advice and enthusiasm you have shown. Enjoy your future adventures
PS My dad has just brought a BT50 because of your adventures. On the off chance you read this he wants me to ask you what tyres you recommend for beach sand in WA?....Eat well travel often and stay safe.

Hey thanks for all those awesome video adventures and tips and tricks, do's and don'ts It taught me alot, and did get me out to my local State Park to secure my 2020 4 wheel drive permit! I have beep passing away the cold and wet days having fun watching what goes on in Australia in the 4 wheel world, and its been awesome to watch and learn.
I totally get what you mean about getting lost in the moment trying to capture the shot, rather than just enjoying it. So cheers Mate, for all that you missed in life making these vids, and congrats for the balls and wisdom in getting the hell out of it and doing what you are really passionate about. What a relief that must be...

Man as a fellow RUclipsr, I can say that sometimes you just need a break. It gets monotonous, becomes a chore and detracts from your fun. Take as long as you need, but you don’t need to end it all.

Woooow the way you explained how turning your passion into a job will kill your passion is exactly how I explain it to everyone who asks me why I’ve stopped doing photography and cooking. I turned both of my passions into a job and then I found myself never wanting to do those things anymore. And I put down the camera for the same exact reason. I wasn’t fully present with the camera and I wanted to stop worrying about getting the best shot, and wanted to actually enjoy the places I was at. Nowadays I do what you said you started off doing, and that is taking small clips or photos to capture memories and share them with friends. It’s so cool to hear someone else explain their reasonings for why you chose not to do something you’re good at. Always felt like I was alone with my reasonings of why I’ve stopped my passions. I’m at a point now tho where I want to pick those things back up again and regain those passions.
Anyway, I’m so happy I found this channel. Hoping you’re out there getting your passions back and still permanently smiling lol 🙏🏼
