C'est carrément impressionnant. Hâte de filmer ça avec vous.

Fish density on a reef, often measured as pounds per acre, matches up with microtopographical variation, or more simply put, places for fish to hide. I used to make fish houses on occasion when I used to dive.
If you want to see about the ultimate bottom with hidey holes in it, the kelp reef off of Santa Barbara City College is amazing.

I would love to do something like this. I do a lot of 3d printing.

The gaps in the folds need to be way bigger and they should go from narrow to wide then narrow again like a natural rock cavity, good use of the 3D printing tech, but subpar design development cycling, needed several more iterations, think like a fish, what would I like to have in my very own artificial reef structure?

compacted sand with starch, agar agar, etc should work too instead toxic concrete. also i suppose if you created holes with carboard beads in the skin, the spread of corals and algae will be faster

3D printed concrete (a special type of concrete that is referred to as "bio active")

Why do they just make one and make a big deal out of it? Make 10,000 and line them along miles of the ocean floor. Mass produce this stuff and get on with it!

You have to make just a few and see how they do first! :)

Coral reefs don’t form in the Med, right?

They do. But the Mediterranean red coral grows deep. The reef is most impressive between 60m and 120m of depth, very few divers go that deep.

Poor substitute for the real reef. Sad. I like the re forresting efforts and coral farming.

There are no coral reefs in the shallows in the Mediterranean. (The red and black corals grow between 50m and 120m deep) This is an excellent substitute for a rocky reef (as it is placed on the sandy bottom and provides habitat for marine life, as well as a shelter from predators and trawlers.

fish share the caves, you should have created a large narrow interconnected cave instead this
