The cardigan gift is unique and lovely…even with jeans and tags on it!
He he he! I know I can’t believe I hadn’t cut them out - lol!!!!
Thank you 🥰
Great idea for your ‘macaroni ‘ dress - shorter and a cowl detached collar! So clever!
Thank you! 😊
Estelle dress is lovely - try a slip underneath to solve ‘creeping’ , length is ok but if you will wear it more shorter chop it! ❤
Aaaah thank you - yes I think a slip would help, but it's possibly destined for the chop!!!
Thank you 🥰
I agree ,you do look lovely in it , chop below the knee
Estelle dress looks lovely shorter.
Hx 💕🇬🇧
Yes, shorten the 'macaroni' Estelle dress! Would make all the difference, and I like the cowl idea too!
Oh my goodness!!! I am 100% going to call it my macaroni dress from now on - I love this!!! Lol
Thank you 🥰
I think we all can agree you look awesome. I, personally fully understand the relationship between motivation for sewing on one side and extra inches on the other side. I am in same boat right now. I shall see what I can do about it during the upcoming months. The purple tights are fun. Thanks for sharing.
I totally agree! Thank you so much. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in my thinking 🥰
Definitely shorter Estelle with scarfy thing 👍🏻 (but it looks great as it is too)
Thank you 🥰 xx
Your Estelle dress would be more you if it was shorter. I'd definitely take what you cut off and make the scarf. I was typing as you were talking and we said the exact same thing! lol Have you ever thought of doing a mini capsule wardrobe? As an example, two tops, pants, skirt and topper that will all go together but give you 6 different outfits but, when put in your current wardrobe can create a much larger selection. I think that helps to narrow down our desires to make everything! Your Saltwater dress, have you tried putting your black top on over top the dress and belting the top with one of the belts you got for your velvet two piece? Your tie on the dress is light enough you likely won't see it under the sweater if you wear your elastic belt over it. I think as we age and get closer to menopause we need to give ourself grace. We've birthed children, we've raised children and once again our bodies change for the next stage in our lives. Those 2" may not be what you want but don't beat yourself up because of them. Enjoy your time with your girls, enjoy delicious meals and treats with them and you know what, patterns come in bigger sizes for a reason! You are perfect the way you are at every stage!
Aahh thank you Cecile. This is just such a lovely message. Thank you so much.
A capsule wardrobe is a great idea - I may give this a go. And yea I just need to embrace the person I am and enjoy making clothes again.
Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
Love the purple tights and that jumper 🤩
Aahh thank you 🤩 xx
Don't be sorry about your video. I do love your spontaneity and humour. It's very fresh and you always come across so natural. Love your clothes too and get lots of inspiration. ❤
Thank you so much! That really is so kind of you 🥰
Love your makes. Always a upbeat video to watch ..thanks for your happy smile ❤
You are so welcome - Thank you so much 🥰 xxx
Re your dress, I think you might enjoy wearing it if it was a little shorter, but if you don’t think that will make any difference, may be as you suggested you could donate it. I can appreciate what you say about your motivation in relation to sewing at the moment but I’m sure you will get you sewjo back soon. Really enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing. Love your outfits & the purple tight were great.😊
Thank you so much ☺️ x
Yes i love cal the midwife i lam in the netherlands love your video's.
Aaahh Thank you 🥰 xx
Hi there! Lovely to see your week of me mades. I have a Jesse Coatigan unfinished from about 6 years ago in my wardrobe 😂. I made it but hated the fact you could see the insides and hanging pockets HOWEVER I am intrigued that you talked about lining it? Is that in the pattern or are you working that out yourself. I feel you re the weight issue, my age has added pounds I never had before, I'm struggling to adjust to it and now also can't bear the thought of skinny jeans either 😂Thanks for the Devon footage 😍Love a bit of Call the Midwife 😂👶🏻❤️
It’s a pattern add on!!! I couldn’t face trying to do it myself!!! lol. Defo give it a go
Aahh thank you - really glad you enjoyed it 🥰🥰🥰
You made me laugh so hard showing how your dress slid up😂
You look lovely in the Estelle dress, but I think it would be even better shorter. You always look great. Thanks for the video. ❤ Diann
😂😂😂 aaahh Thank you 🥰 xxx
Love the zadie! It looks fab on you 🤩
Thank you 🥰 xxx
The dress would look better and a cowl neck would be cozy. . I'm off to work now, i will watch you after supper tonight.
Aaaah thank you so much 🥰
Totally relate to the inches, the arrive with ease, but so hard to get rid of…
I know!!!! It’s a pain isn’t it!
Thank you 🥰 xxx
I think your plans to shorten and add a removable cowl for the Estelle are fab. If you are thinking of making some joggers and aren’t set on the Hudsons I’d recommend taking a look at the Greenstyle Brassies. I couldn’t find any rtw that I liked, they nearly all were either too skinny or too baggy and had a high polyester content (and were too long for me). I wanted a pair for home and for playing tennis so bought some heavy French Terry from Dalston Mill and that was perfect for what I wanted. The Brassies have 3 different rise options and with or without ankle cuff option too.
Oohh that’s great - I’ll give them a look. Thanks for that really appreciate it 🥰🥰🥰
Try a short sleeve white or coloured top underneath the saltwater slip dress, also with something that doesn’t have such a high neck.
You always look gorgeous to me chucka, mwah 💋
Aaaahhh you are just fabulous yourself too 😘 Mwah!
Yes - a few people have said the same thing - so I think I might try that first before chopping anything or giving away!!! Lol
Thank you 🥰
Absolutely no need to apologise for anything its a privilege to share a part of your life with you and your lovely family and of course your sewing so a big thank you for the time and effort that you put into your vlogs 🥰
Thank you so much! That’s so kind of you 🥰
Hello, lovely to see you. It’s funny how we see each other. I loved your first outfit and thought you looked great. I do see a pattern in that if you make something that’s a bit long on you, you dont like it as much. So shorter is probably best. If you have put on that some inches it doesn’t show and is probably just Christmas inches that will come off just as quick when you cut back on eating waffles lol. However you were still able to wear lots of existing clothes that all looked great.
I can relate to not wanting to cut up a precious piece of fabric because i will lose weight soon and it won’t fit me. I’m sure a lot of us go through our whole life like that, so when do we say that’s enough and we just make something to enjoy wearing it today not worrying about whether it fit tomorrow. If you find the answer to that conundrum please let me know ❤
Aaahh you are so right - I think maybe we do just have to make for today - as it’s making me miserable having lots of clothes that don’t fit me - I just need some nice things that make me feel good now - so probably best to just get in and make things - and forget about losing weight. I could be waiting a long time 🙈🥰
Thank you for your kind message xx
Best zadie I’ve seen on utube ,love the fabric you’ve chose , not keen on the busy patterned ones
Wow, thank you! ☺️ x
I would love one of those lights but the shipping to New Zealand would be horrendous! Loved your video.
Oh no! That is such a shame. I’m sorry about that.
Thank you 🥰 xxx
Really enjoy your one week me made videos. Thanks. Not in the least bit boring x
Glad you enjoyed it - Thank you so much 🥰 xx
Another lovely video. You are so engaging to watch. I really love your new Zadie. I hope all went well for the girls and their exams.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Enjoyed your explanations on your makes and the family vibe of just enjoying each others company.
Thanks so much! I’m so pleased you enjoyed it 🥰
You're overthinking. The cardi is fab with the white top!
Aaaah bless you - Thank you 🥰
Loved this video as I loved all others. I would also shorten up that Estelle dress. And about the saltwater slip dress.. I am from the upper Midwest in US ( you know, almost Canada) and to my eyes that style just doesn't look right with a top underneath. I would just put it with your warm weather clothes. Just my take - it is very pretty on you.
Yeah - that maybe what I am unsure about as I have never worn something like that either. Thank you 🥰 xx
Love the dress but it looked great shorter
Thank you! 😊
The estelle dress did look better when you pulled it up, I made mine too long think I will do the same. A scarf with the excess is a good idea in this weather 😊
Yeah - I think this will make me wear it much more. Go for it too!!! ❤️
Thank you 🥰
Lovely makes and comments - as for Call The Midwife, We LOVE IT! So much so that we bought the whole DVD collection! Interestingly, Larry (who never wanted kids), loves it even more than me!
Oh that’s so funny!!! 😆 love this.
Thank you so much Loriann 🥰 xx
Hello Angela, fabulous video as always. You have an amazing figure so don't get too hung up on the bit of size gain. The Estelle dress is lovely but i do think shorter would be better. I do get what you say about your Saltwater Slip dress, i thought it looked lovely on your cruise. Thank you
Your videos are great please don’t change x
Thank you so much Mary - that's so kind of you.
Thank you 🥰
Thank you Lesley 🥰
I'm with you on the added inches. I want to make some jeans, but not until I lose those few inches. No worries about not filming at the sewing social, more important for you to enjoy the day! Poor Lottie! My Elvis I almost 15, and sometimes he just barks. He is also deaf now , so he can hear when we ask him to be quiet. He also sleeps a lot now. But I love him no matter what! I think those purple tights are fab!
Aaahh bless him - it’s so difficult when they reach the later stages of their lives isn’t it. Live that he’s called Elvis 🥰
I know but I think maybe I am going to be waiting a long time to lose the weight and maybe should just make what fits now and enjoy wearing it?!?! I don’t know 🤷
Thank you 🥰 xx
Love when you include your family 👩🐶
Aaaah thank you - I'm so glad you enjoy it 🥰
Love the idea of making the dress shorter and making a cowl neckline. It makes me cold just looking at it you without something cuddly around your neck
😂 he he - well I will make sure I do the cowl! lol, it will be nice to have that extra little something!
Thank you 🥰
Really enjoyed your video. I wondered if the black top under the saltwater slip was a bit too stark. Perhaps a top in one of the lighter colours in the slip fabric would look better? You look lovely in all your makes
Yes I agree I white top might be better - Thank you 🥰 xxx
Yes I agree I white top might be better - Thank you 🥰 xxx
I agree the rainbow Estelle dress is too long, yes the cowl neck would look great, I love Call the midwife, I think we all have gaps in our wardrobe, love the video xx
Thanks so much 🥰
Love that navy FT dress with the squiggles on it. Liked it long but thought it was even nicer around knee length.
Thank you so much - yes, I think it's destined to become a little shorter 😂
Thank you 🥰
love the mosh mash videos and the purple tights! Estelle dress is great too. Love to see bits of Ellen and your girls.
Glad you like them! - thank you so much 🥰
I think the shorter length for the Estelle with a cowl or infinity scarf would look amazing and give you the perfect freezy weather dress 😊
I totally agree! I think that I am going to do it!!! Thank you 🥰
Lovely to see you Angela and the purple tights are great!
Thank you! 😊
Great vlog as always love the Estelle dress have made two although being bigger busted I find that it benefits from a scarf os something around the neck. ❤
Great tip! Thank you 🥰 xxx
Hi Angela thank you for sharing your recent makes, i am very close to you in measurements so it helps me to know what size you make your clothes to fit you so well, i am new to sewing and i am struggling to get a nice fit (always too big). If i can get my clothes to look so good, as yours do on you, i will be very happy. Loved the purple tights, may be patterned ones next 😜 Also i have just watched your lovely video "Last makes of 2023" and you mention the shirt you make for your husband. I want to make a shirt for my husband (who is also similar in size to your hubby) can i ask will you still be making a video of this and will it be through your utube channel or somewhere different ? Thanks in advance.
Aahh thank you so much. That’s so kind of you. He he yes maybe patterned tights next lol!!!
I have done the video for the shirt I just haven’t finished doing the write up for it yet - I will try and get it finished very soon.
Thank you 🥰 and good luck with your sewing xx
Thank you so much. That's great.
I finally got my teeth in!!!😂 love it! Your videos ARE very interesting!
😝😂. Aahhh thank you so so much 🥰❤️
I love your idea about chopping the Estelle dress to just below the knee and making a snood/cowl with the excess! Also, I think your saltwater slip looks lovely worn the summery way. Good luck to Ellen in her exams! X
Thank you 🥰 xxx
Love your honest style of video. Thank you for taking the time to film.
You are so welcome! Thank you 🥰 xxx
You are so welcome! Thank you 🥰 xxx
You are fabulous, no matter your inches! But I feel you.
Bless you, thank you so much 🥰❤️
ooooh love the purple tights with the blues. Really suits you and looks casual but together x x Beautiful scenery 🙃😀 Debbie x
Oh thank you - I wasn't sure - but it was fun to wear them! Thank you 🥰
Call the midwife is extremely popular in Australia as well I am an avid watcher…..You two girls look so cute and comfy enjoy ….💕 Robyn North Qld Australia we are sweltering here expected to be 41 Celsius today 😭
Aahh that’s so funny! So glad it’s reaching all corners of the world! lol
Goodness that is hot! 🥵 maybe a bit too hot for me!!! Hope you’re all ok and safe!
Thank you 🥰 xx

Great video Angela, despite what you think ❤. Estelle: shorten and make an infinity scarf. Saltwater slip dress will look great with a short sleeve white tee shirt in warm weather. Make the warm stuff now! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😁. Your crochet is amazing - wish you’d seen my first attempts, ended up pyramid shaped 😀😀. You are in amazing shape - better weather will bring more opportunities for us to get outside and eat more healthily 🙏🏻🙌, so give yourself a break 💗
Ahhh - that's so kind of you ❤️
Yes - I think I will try the slip dress with a white tee - I think that's a great idea.
Thank you so much - you really are very kind 🥰
Angela, I loved all the pics at the end of the video. I think the purple tights looked very nice with your outfit. ❤
Oh thank you! 🥰🥰🥰
I love the last outfit you were wearing... the purple tights looked great - fun and cheerful 😊 don't be too hard on yourself in regards to your weight. You know what you have to do and I know you will do it 😊 great video. Honest, fun, real life 😊
Thank you so much!! 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for sharing your week Angela. 🧶🌈🍓💙
You are so welcome! Thank you 🥰 xx
I love your waffle lol. I'd cut off the tie dress. Try the slip with a light coloured top. Before you get rid. Love your jumper dress as always. Purple tights are great lol x
Great idea!! I hadn't thought of trying it with a lighter top - I will try that first. Thank you.
Ha ha yes the purple tights were fun!
Thank you 🥰
Depends on whether you want the dress long for warmth or not! Long slip really helps!!! No sticking 😅
Yes - I think I need to add a slip - that would certainly help - Thank you 🥰
I have got the Estelle dress cut out and i will probably end up shortening it ❤
Aaahh - I hope you love it - no matter the length 🥰
Hi Angela I love watching your videos. Don't be sorry - life is too short and sometimes you just have to live in the moment. Your videos are interesting and not boring. Now that the weather 'should' be warming up and getting a little lighter each evening it may give us the motivation to get out and do some walking etc to hopefully lose some inches/weight that we have gained over the Wintery and cold months keep doing what you are doing and by the way you always look amazing even in the purple tights 😊 xx
Aahh thank you so much - that’s very kind of you. 🥰❤️🥰❤️
I will defo be getting out a lot more over the brighter days ahead 😉
Thank you so much 🥰
Your videos are always great. Thank you for a great view!
Thank you very much! 🥰🥰🥰
Sounds a good idea, a cowl neck ☺thank you Angela for sharing the video
Thank you - yes I think I will get this done - it will make a big difference!
Thank you 🥰
I love the slip dress on you, both in Summer and with the polo neck
I also love the length of the Sew Over It dress too
But, it’s how you feel for sure ❤
Oh thank you! That's so kind of you. I might sit on it for a while before I make a decision!! lol.
Thank you 🥰
Jumpsuit looks great too😊
Thank you so much 🥰
Definitely never boring.. really enjoyed watching and seeing your plans as usual 🙏😁. Great to see Lotty too bless her.. My whippet Merlin is definitely getting more needy now he's turned 13... Good job we love um eh 😜🐾🥰😘
Thanks so much! 😊 ha ha - it really is, she is so needy!! Bless him, I hope Merlin is doing well 🥰
Never boring! Enjoyed as always x
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you so much 🥰
Love your videos Angela, they are a delight to watch thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome! Thank you 🥰 xx
The Sunday slip dress would look better shorter and I would make the straps wider. I think that’s the issue.
Aahh that’s a good point. - Thank you 🥰 xx
Love all your makes! Could you possibly link the inexpensive ribbed jersey you made your tops in please? Minerva site is so vast I can't find it!! Thank you :)
Aahh thank you 🥰❤️
I’ve had a little search through the website to try and find it, but it looks like they don’t sell it any more or it has gone up in price. I’m so sorry. I was a few years ago that I bought it.
This is the closest I could find to it :
www.minerva.com/mp/1426074/minerva-core-range-brushed-texture-rib-stretch-knit-fabric-black&variant=1426049
@@DevonThreadTales Thanks anyway for this recommendation Angela, appreciated!
I like the matching of sweater to jeans!!! Blends well! In USA we wear white tops all the time with everything 😅
Oh how funny - that's great - Thank you 🥰
Spaghetti strap dress over the turtleneck is not very flattering on you. You can wear the dress as a sundress, but you're right that a bit shorter might be better. Awwwwm 2" added? Happens over Christmas when family is celebrating together, daughters home from uni, happy times -- but lean days and exercise coming for all of us! You still look great!
Ha ha - you are right - some lean days for sure!!! 🙈
Yes I agree - it's better as a sun dress, but still not 100% convinced. Thank you so much ❤️
That was a ton of fun, Angela!! (To lose weight, look at calorie density😉i.e., more fruits + veggies❤)
Aaaahh thank you so much - I'm so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Ooooh that's great - thank you 🥰
Hey Lovely, I think the saltwater slip dress looks amazing on you, but the fabric is different to what I would see you in, is it that the fabric needs to be different? maybe not give up on the pattern... although Adele at sew for serenty really dislikes this dress lol... x
I think maybe it is the fabric but also I think I need to play around with the fit. I don’t think the dress waist is where my waist is - if that makes sense!
Thank you 🥰 xx
I think maybe it is the fabric but also I think I need to play around with the fit. I don’t think the dress waist is where my waist is - if that makes sense!
Thank you 🥰 xx
I enjoyed your vlog very much. Don't worry, Christmas is a time for family and food, 😂not forgetting the odd glass. You look great. I agree that if you shortened the midis they would both look great. I love a coloured tight ❤❤❤
Aaaah it certainly is - and I did have such a lovely time, so I can't regret it - just need to be a bit good now 😂
Thank you 🥰
Angela I think the slip dress looks fab on you....maybe try it in the summer with a short sleeve tshirt underneath and pumps. The Dungarees are mega cute I'm tempted to make some as have some shop bought ones but the waist seems low down on them which is really annoying but your look so lovely
Thank you - I agree I'm going to give a paler and short sleeve t shirt. Aaaah yes - give the dungarees a go - they are fun and I really love wearing them!
Thank you 🥰
Whew! You are only a little busy! I gained some stubborn weight when I had plantar fasciitis. It made it so difficult to even walk. It was a rude awaking! I think the two dresses you mentioned shortening were a good idea. But I would wait to do any alterations until you have toned up. Then try them on again and decide. Happy Sewing!
Aaaah bless you - I so totally feel your pain - literally!!!
Yes - that's a great idea.
Thank you so much 🥰
Yes, I think the dress is too long. If you shorten it the dress will look much better 🥰 Go for it! 🙂 The pattern is busy, I think a cowl would be too much. That's my two cents 😉
Thank you - yes it definitely destined for the chop! 😂
Aaaah that's not a bad thought - I will make it and see how it looks. I could maybe wear the patterned cowl with a plain top, and vice versa!
Thank you 🥰
@@DevonThreadTales yes, that's a great idea!
Great vlog, good luck with your crocheting, Amy’s jumper looks like it’s going to be gorgeous. I have some coloured tights , I’m going to try and be braver and wear them as yours look great. X
Thank you! 😊 Yessss - do it, it was fun wearing them ❤️
I enjoyed your Vlog. Did you notice that you weren't fussy about your 2 long dresses? What i noticed about them is they were both patterned. In the beginning of your journey you didn't wear patterns so im wondering if it's just too much pattern for you. I'm like that myself. If you're not wearing them, perhaps you should shorten them and see what you think then. I think tge Saltwater might look different and lighter with a light coloured Tshirt with short sleeves. Maybe try that before cutting it? Just a suggestion. You'd look great in a paper bag so don't fret girl! Yes, the Midwives program is in Canada 🇨🇦 too. Good luck to Ellen on her exams.
Oh my goodness - I hadn't thought about that - you might well be onto something there!!! Thank you for sharing that. I do need to do a bit of an evaluation of my clothes and colours etc.
Someone else has also mentioned to me about a lighter coloured top, which again hadn't occurred to me, so will try it first, before I do anything drastic!
Aaaah that's so cool that Call the Midwife is also in Canada.
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments 🥰
Hi Angela, I agree that your s.o.i dress looks better shorter and great use of fabric to use the rest for a snood too.
I always enjoy your vlogs and this format of 1 week me made. Good luck to Ellen in her exams too.
Random comment, but I really like your statement necklace. 😅
Hey Annette, thank you so much. I think I will defo be chopping the SOI dress, and making a snood.
Aaaah thank you - I'm so glad you enjoy them. Ellen's exams are all over now - thank goodness!
Aaaah thank you - John bought it for me several years ago.
Thank you 🥰
I’m definitely buying into cutting the length off the Estelle and making a cowl neck cover. I made 2 Estelle’s and don’t wear them for the same reasons you’ve just described so maybe my blue one will get the chop too 🥳😍
Yes I think I am going to go for it, and chop it. Why not have a go too? I hope it works out for you 🥰
Thank you ❤️
lovely vid as always! i would love to know which waffle/toastmaker you got. i have been looking for a good one.
Aahh it’s just a Salter one. I love it!!! 🥰
Show us your stash and why you are not sewing it❤
Ooooh now there's a great idea - Thank you 🥰
Navy or red infinity scarf with it!!!
Great idea - Thank you 🥰
I have just cut out an Estelle and must admit I am wondering whether I should make it shorter.
I totally understand how you feel. I have put on about 20lb in the last 18 months and think I look hideous in everything I make at the moment. 🙄 Sending hugs 🤗
I’m sure you do not look hideous- bless you. Make your Estelle and wear it with pride 🥰🥰🥰
I’m sure you do not look hideous- bless you. Make your Estelle and wear it with pride 🥰🥰🥰
@@DevonThreadTales awww thank you. I love the Estelle! We saw you at stitch yesterday, but you were just saying goodbye to the other vloggers so I didn't bother you. Next time we will say hi as it would be lovely to meet you and Helen properly 🥰🤩🤩
Is the saltwater slip dress issue that the black top is too strong a contrast against the dress fabric? Wondering if another colour top might work better.
Yeah I think a white tip might be better?!?! I will try it - Thank you 🥰 xx
Just rewatched and wondered if a different neckline on the top might help too? That or shorter straps / a higher neckline on the dress? Are the current distances between the two necklines perhaps out of balance fractionally and making you feel like “something” is off?
It’s honestly really helpful when you share these reflections with us. It gets me thinking about the pros and cons of the things I wear too. Small details can make such a difference.
My saltwater slip went in the bin, it looked dreadful on me! I did make the short version so maybe don’t bother Angela!! Sometimes it is hard imagining how pattern styles will look on you. 😢
Oh bless you Mary - that's such a shame ☹️ but yes I agree sometimes it is really hard to imagine a pattern on yourself.
Thank you 🥰
Definitely shorter & a cowl neck
👍🏼Thank you 🥰 xxx
Slip dress is pretty, but all the black is too heavy for it. Little tshirt and strappy sandals without belts would be French chic ❤
Yes I agree - I am definitely going to give that a try before I decide on anything with the dress.
Thank you 🥰
Yes. The dress is too long for you, I think. I’d just wear a nice solid scarf that compliments the dress and suits you - SOFT CUDDLY infinity or pashmina. But yes, chop it off.
Thank you - yes I think it is definitely going to be for the chop! Thank you 🥰
I think the Estelle dress is nice but agree with you, shorten it, I think the fabric is too much being long
I think you’re right ☺️
Thank you 🥰❤️
