So on to the week - and what I was wearing :
Day 1 :
True bias Nikko top in black ribbed jersey from Minerva
The dress I’m making for Amy McCalls M8319 in corduroy from First for Fabrics
The buttons I am trying to source : vogue 0421
I also speak to Karen who is @sewlittletime whilst I was sewing my Sew Over It Jessie Coatagan
Day 2 :
Sew Over It Nomi Dress in a green modal jersey from Guthrie Ghani.
Day 3 :
An adaption of a Vogue V9344 in a viscose fabric from Minerva.
Day 4 :
Tilly and the Buttons Agnes top in cotton jersey from Exeter machine company.
And then in the evening the Paper Theory Patterns Zadie jumpsuit in viscose fabric from 1st for fabrics.

Day 5 :
A hand knitted top made by my daughter Amy who is Amyknitstagram over on instagram. It’s the Poisoned Apple Top by Lilly Kate Makes
Day 6 :
The Closet Core Blanca Flight Suit in grey/black denim from Haberdashery Fabrics and More. I paired this with my Friday Pattern Company Ilford Jacket in a drill fabric from a Guthrie Ghani kit.
Day 7 :
Started the day in my PJs in fabric from Truro fabrics. They are the Yrie Bias Hudson pants and the Grainline Studio Linden sweatshirt.
Then I changed into the True Bias Shelby dress in viscose fabric from Minerva.

All three of your Zadies look lovely on you; you certainly didn't look old fashioned in your outfit. 50 sounds very young to me. I was 72 on Monday! I'd love to visit Tavistock - Quilt Direct is there :-) I didn't know about the other fabric shop. I have the Shelby Dress pattern and yours, which is so pretty, has inspired me to get it made up

The Zadie jumpsuit can look a bit momsy. The Blanca has a more badass look. Maybe that would have been a better choice for your night out. It would have made you feel more secure. We all have those moments and those clothes. They make us feel good on some days under certain circumstances but they can make us feel insecure other times 🤷

Re Hoodies.. I picked up a pattern on sale, casual fit, and made one. I am now up to 4 and will make more. You can make them in a drapey lighter material, a heavy fun patterned jersey, and more 'dressy' ? an actual knit.. they each have a different level of casual or cool. The knit ones are fantastic for an elevated hoodie.I believe that cashmere hoodies were quite the thing recently, so I copied that look . I live in Montreal Canada, where we can have cold days all the way to June. Never too late here for another one :) My step daughter lives in NY, extremely smart and fashionable with the income to support that, and she wore 2 RTW knit hoodies while we stayed with them. Mine fit right in :)

Really ❤ your Shelby. I hope you were warm enough. Its usually really cold and snowy here in February but we've been treated to double digits this week so dug out some proper spring clothes. I know we're in for more snow yet but it will be tough to go back to turtleneck shirts. I have a pale mauve, boxy, slightly cropped hoodie that might become a regular when winter roars back. It is a little reminder of Easter and spring flowers at least in colour. I was going to suggest you try a slightly upscale sweatshirt pattern that will banish the athletic vibe. But I am also envious of Michelle's Stella hoodie in that marvelous marble fabric. A mid-weight french terry is great on its own or layered over t-shirts or even button up shirts. Thanks for showing us your week of me-mades and sharing your thoughts. I like all your Zadies and your Blanca but I can't be bothered with the undressing every time I need a pee 😂.

Thanks for sharing Angela, I like your Zadie on you so maybe it was the occasion that made it feel not quite right? I made a Sew Over It Giselle dress in the same colourway. Not sure when in February you filmed this but it’s possible John and I have the same birthday just 10 years difference (can’t believe I’m 60 😮) anyway I did giggle when he walked in with his big balloon! 💙🧶🌈🍓

Happy Birthday John! Really interesting clothes you wore, I think I would have worn the darker Zadie, the lighter one did seem more summery , although you always look gorgeous in that ever you wear. It is difficult dressing weather appropriate when you are in between seasons, although the Blanca is beautiful, so youthful too. I hope someone has some buttons for you, Amy’s dress is fab, wish I had the figure for it ❤

Itchy is the one and only reason I can’t wear wool items, such a shame as I see so many I’d love and this looks lovely on you. I love the Zadie’s (not so much the cheapest one)

Angela, you always look great. I think everyone will agree with you that, we are all so over winter now and need to wear something that isn't a sweatshirt or jumper.

A fabulous week of memades as usual! I think it’s the type of fabric you’ve used for your zadie, it’s very drapey in comparison to the other two which have more structure.

Hi not exactly what you need but I have 4 of those buttons in the next size up. They are about 28mm (it has H on packet) I got them in home focus in Ireland if you want to see if they have some 😊

I love your Blanca on you, it couldn't fit anymore perfect! My son in law is a airforce pilot so he wears a blue/grey jumpsuit, we just found out they are expecting and I found a red jumpsuit in a 0-3 month size but in chambrey red for their baby! I was so excited since it will work for boy or girl. It's actually very similar to yours minus the belt. Have you ever got your colours done? I think it would help you bring in colours that you will be happy with as well as keep you feeling more summery even in the grey days of winter.

I have the same sewing machine as you and I dread doing buttonholes on it. I hate that buttonholer with the little wheel at the side. I find it never works on plackets!! Your daughters dress is gorgeous 😍

Great vlog as always the Zadie jumpsuit you had on probably wasn’t right for the season it’s quite light weight but I thought you looked great. I don’t know why John is sad about being 50 ask him what is the alternative lol? Love how you wear summer clothes in winter I would be far too cold and as for having bare legs no way, brave you ❤❤

All your Zadies are gorgeous, but the dark blue one looks longer in length, and maybe more "dressy" and less casual ??? I think when leg lengths rise they do tend to make the outfit more casual. Could it be that?

I adore the True Bias Shelby dress and liked the Sew Over It Nomi dress as well. I have just started my dressmaking journey, so I think both are beyond my capabilities at the moment, but maybe I will be able to make one or both of them someday. My ambition is to have a 'me made' wardrobe like you mixed with a few ready-to-wear pieces. I hope that you don't mind me asking, but where did you purchase the black slip that you were wearing under your dress?
