These are really good thanks for sharing. It helps that you're a great player and have a great sound including the backing tracks. One question: were these out of the gate? I mean just one generation for each prompt or did you have to have lots of tries before something reasonable came out? Interesting video, thanks for sharing. Thumbs up.
AI is a lot better than humans. It can analyze and process vast amounts of musical data and patterns at an incredible speed, faster than any human could ever hope to match. It can explore and create new musical styles and genres that humans may not be equipped to understand. As far as heart? It is sufficiently advanced to effectively replicate human emotions and feelings and can create content that is even better than human-created content.

The riffs sounded really amazing. but they lean towards a more rock approach. I don't know much about riffs, but do you think some of them sounded familiar? Saying this because image generator AIs like Bluewillow uses certain datasets for what they will produce once a prompt has been placed.

I probably wouldn't have guessed that they were generated by AI. But there are completely generic none the less. You might get interesting results by asking it to generate riffs inspired by Deep Purple and Mozart.
yea the riffs are super generic and variations of them have definitely been used in countless songs already. i studied music at UCSC under David Cope and he was working on programs (this was around 15 years ago) where you insert a few mozart or chopin pieces and it spits out an original piano sonata or whatever. i always found it a bit terrifying. this in comparison seems extremely basic, like mostly just outlining a chord and i think there's no rhythm given? so this guy is doing a lot, interpreting the rhythm creating a cool sounding backing track etc...as far as the AI aspect it's not that impressive
@@theduff2003 You're not wrong but there's such a thing as writer's block on an instrument too. I could see it being a way to find a general "vibe" to go for. The fact that the AI riff has the ability to invoke enough emotion for a musician to base a riff off of it is kinda something special in itself. I wouldn't really support copy/pasting AI riffs into a synth and throwing them on the radio, but if a musician gets inspiration from them I see no real issue.
We don't need Computers making Art for us. It likes incomplete Progressions with the last few beats being repeated. I hear a lot of SoundGarden and Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Dream Theater, and Test For Echo era RUSH, That Page sounding riff was more the rhythm but it makes sense, it's is taking the most DL'ed or listened to songs since 2000 or so, eventually it's going to get too close to something else. Some of these riffs are pretty solid starting points. What prompt are you using to get this level of quality of you don’t mind me asking? What I’ve seen previously from Chat GPT creating riffs is that they are really bad 😂
The federal government and every state government needs to pass a lot of new laws; laws that would say that any content (musical, written, or otherwise) created with artificial intelligence needs to come with a user statement stating that it (the content) was created using AI. Tom Sisson
Not bad at all. The only comment I would make is that, to my ear, they have a 'not quite there' quality. These are the sort of riffs you would hear from second-tier bands, not the leaders: competent, but not truly striking. That's what I would expect from an algorithm that can only work from a database of existing music. Essentially, they're pastiches, not truly original creations. However: I could see any of these examples being a good starting point for further work by a human being. That would be a timesaver for any songwriter.
I agree, mostly because the resemblances with already famous and established solos are too strong so these all feel like some kind of bad copies to me 😂
ai is good at copying ideas and switching them up but to re invent the wheel clearly never gonna happen. i know computers can beat us at most things but in the end the brain will trump the computer.
There's a little bit of something in each riff that you can work upon to make it good or interesting but people need to seriously cut the crap with the "AI" lol. None of them, as such, are really good. Maybe riff 2 and 6 could be part of a song, maybe. Creativity, emotions and inspiration make good music. Dig the programmation behind it, "AI" is just algorithms anyway. A vast illusion.
The phrase "I trained an AI model to create..." is fairly exagerated, all you did is talk to the AI for a brief couple of minutes, after somebody actually trained it for a brief couple thousands of hours, but either way, cool vid
Nice idea and editing... but, honestly, those riffs are not that good, let alone innovative. Besides, you didn't even use the title suggested by ChatGPT. Why all the animosity then? lol
In this rather than self expression I wanted to test its creativity and apparently it’s not that great since a lot of these riffs have huge resemblances with already very famous songs 😂
AI may fly a fighter jet and launch missiles but it sucks when it comes to music. The riffs and guitar solos it generates are not even 1% of what has been accomplished by guitar players. AI can never play the blues. Playing the blues and correct choice of notes according to the concept of the song is harder than flying a fighter jet.
