Not really though. I think it's not necessarily a bad thing but it makes it sound timeless 👌
@@1jkbl I disagree. This sort of stuff is timeless, plain and simple. LPs like Timeless, Industry, Molten Beats, and cuts from guys like Photek, Source Direct, LTJ Bukem...the list goes on. So much of it carries a unique spirit removed from a particular point in time. Yes, the tone and samples sound dated. But the ideas, techniques, creativity, just give it a vibe that doesn’t quite conform to our standard notions of where we feel it should fit in the greater timeline of music.
And dnb and jungle has always been here since it started, it just lost the mainstream appeal it once garnered. You still get the odd jump up or liquid tune that finds its way into the periphery of the mainstream, perhaps catching a glint of the limelight, but it hasn’t been on that level of being a cultural sensation like when Goldie gave it a face in the mid-90s, or when Source Direct was getting signed by Virgin Records.

Magic in these old tracks is because everything what you hear from this song is sampled from different music (jazz, blues etc.) not from plugins like a nowadays
nobody releases such gold nowadays, everything is so clunky and lame these days

Marcus always brought the depth of soul to DnB. Always picked the best selection of samples and of course there are so many layers of intricate sounds and programming for the listener to enjoy with each visit.
Very important song during a time when a lot of D&B fans were completely fed up with the direction off the genre

Absolute classic! In my opinion the Photek remix is better than the original and I don't say that lightly ! There's not many remixes I can think of that do the original justice let alone surpass it ! Peace out 🙏

I had a party, played this last, went to bed. Woke up to find he had passed,
I’ve been into rave, hardcore , jungle dnb as the music evolved. Brought vinyl since 93 but more heavily from 97. Stopped buying new vinyl around 2002 (and then started again around 2013). With that context this is one of the more modern dnb tunes that I always come back to. Smooth, soulful but heavy with the drums and bass. RIP to Marcus Intalex; this timeless tune will live on.
I remember playing this at the Bomb in Nottingham when it came out. Massively ahead of its time. RIP Da Intalex
