    2014 finals Spurs. That was the best basketball I ever watched. I remember texting my friend at like 3 in the morning and telling him '' this is the best basketball we will ever see for a very long time '' I think it was game 3 at Heat. They were moving the ball as if 5 players were 1 big system that trully runs togehter at the same time all 5 pieces. It was incredible.

      Jaime G. Agreed. And I watched Jordan in the 90s. Jordan was great but not as great as people make him out to be. Bird and Magic's teams personified the same style of ball that the current day Spurs do and they won titles against better teams than Jordan beat. The 86 Celtics are probably the best team ever for a single season, but these Spurs play a lot like them.

    • @PoeticJustice05
      @PoeticJustice05 9 лет назад +1

      VancouverChokers I disagree. The 96' Bulls was the best team I've ever seen, bar none. That was like watching grown men play against little boys. The 2014 Spurs are a close second, however.

    • @VancouverChokers
      @VancouverChokers 9 лет назад

      PoeticJustice05 Still think I go with 86 Boston. Size matters and that team had Bird, Chief and McHale upfront and Walton off the bench and Boston Garden was as lethal a HCA as Chicago was in Jordan's years (Celts went 50-1 there in 86)

      boring I like watching tough competitive basketball as a neutral fan like in 2013 game 6 and 7 were the best games to watch two competitive teams who don't want to lose giving all that's left the last 65 minutes of that series were insane looking back legendary

    • @mike23rulz
      @mike23rulz 9 лет назад +2

      razkable I'm a cavs fan. this is still competitive to me, it's just that San Antonio's ball movement and moving bodies was just so good to watch, and as good as Miami's team was they couldn't stop them.

    • @razkable
      @razkable 9 лет назад

      mike23rulz yeah but Miami was like a dead fish in games 3-5 I would agree if Miami made it a series because the spurs played very good team basketball people overate the ball movement though they didn't iso a lot but they didn't have 5 guys touch the ball every play down the court like some people like to over exaggerate this was the best spurs team this and 2007 2005 1999 2003 in that order 03 and 05 were all Duncan 99 was the lockout and the twin towers 8th seed knicks in the finals 2007 they didn't play a great team but it was the big three all at their primes 2014 was 11 guys on a string together

    • @mike23rulz
      @mike23rulz 9 лет назад +1

      razkable even if 4 of the games were blowouts i still say it was great to watch. their half court offense was great, everyone knows how to pass and eventually they'd find a good shot. I loved how their 2 other big men; splitter and diaw are such good passers
      i used to think they were boring too... probably my fav team to watch now even more so than my own.

    It's not like they did this to some no name team, they did it to MIAMI, they slapped the 2 time defending champions by record margins. They carved up a marque defence with the simplest of plays, fundamentals and unselfishness. I wish more people in leagues I play in would be like this constantly sacrificing for the guy next to you, saying I have a shot but he has a better shot. Instead everyone wants to be Kobe

    it took the 2014 nba finals for people to realize how good San Antonio has been for years. Also, the fact that the Heat was the most hated team in the nba, the beating the Spurs put on Miami just earned them a ton of bandwagon fans. If it was any other team besides the Heat, the Spurs would have been the villains and any other team out the east would have been the underdog that everyone roots for

    The Spurs, like the GSW today, are great at getting to key and forcing defenses to collapse on the ball, thus leading to open kick outs... usually they will result in open 3s or more drive and kick action.. considering that they do this on a regular basis for the whole game makes it much more of a pain in the ass to guard

    It's not even like the Heat were slacking on defense. They did all that they could. Spurs just decided to play a perfect game of basketball.

    I love this offense. I wish my Pacers ran something similar. Here’s hoping they sign Hammon or Udoka, two great assistants who’ve seen first hand just how effective this offense can be.

    The key to their offense is that they have 2-3 legit ball handlers at all times on the court.

    • @the2ndamendment
      @the2ndamendment 9 лет назад +10

      The other key is Tim Duncan. I mean 80% of everything happening is a result of him being on the court . Even when he doesn't touch the ball the defense is sunk in on him because he is deadly. With his size and skill, and the offensive design, it's either an easy layup for him or someone else, or a pass out for open jumpshot. Even at nearly 40 he's running the court in every clip, and has the biggest impact on this championship team. Also I have just become aware to the value of Splitter. I never saw it before. Yes there is great guard play, but the reason it's so effective is because of Tim Duncan. There are many great guards in the NBA, many way better than the Spurs guards...but they don't have Duncan and Poppovich coaching them.

      2-4 playmakers at the same time. On the side of that super cocky ass whooped super team, there is one ball dominant player whom he wanted the offense to move through him so he can pad his stats and break records and as a result 1000% toxic and Zero IQ fantards and media personnel a.k.a. "Bronsexuals" always put the blame on his teammates when they are losing. Pathetic people!

    Spurs offense is amazing i mean just look at most of how Duncan scored the ball. he rarely pounded the ball it was all about positioning patience and finding the best shot possible

    Nowadays when i watch spurs play (like almost every game) there are just too much iso. Its either DeRozan iso or Aldridge back to the basket most of the times
    Dont get me wrong,there are still many beautiful plays this season like that one match when we play against the Celtics. But they cant compare even just to a tiny bit to this
