So true Tipper n Matt, I not 🚫 only 👀 the stairs so strong 💪 but a ❤ that is too 😮😍❗... Matt 😇 making sure you not takin a spill down the hill 😟 as you go along ya way in the garden too 😉🗯❤❗... Yall have a blessed week n 🙏 for Granny as she starts her treatments, n for y'alls saftey😢 to n fro Tipper 😇, Sendin bunches of 💞💖💞 of love to Y'all in Appalachia Always Sweet friends 😘❗❤ ~Kentucky NaNa~ ❤
I always wanted to serve my time at jury duty but was never called until I was older and Ill. They dismissed me then so I haven’t served at all. Bow hunting is a good sport !! The steps look so good and I know you will be proud of them come planting time and planting time. I remember hog killing days from my childhood. Both grandfathers and grandmothers came to help. I hid until the worse was over. My aunt always had canned sausage and I really loved it and she cooked it knowing it was my favorite breakfast. Hot biscuits and sausage gravy.
"I don't usually slow down long enough to see what it looks like, I just eat it. " Matt cracks me up! He reminds me so much of my dad. God Bless your family!
We always canned sausage in the Ozark Mountains. It was so good. The sausage you buy now is not seasoned the same. It can't even compare. We raised our own beef, pork, chicken, and raised a huge garden. We made hominey from field corn, and made sourkraut and dried apples on big pieces of tin. We also had pecan and walnut trees. We had our own eggs and had a milk cow and also churned butter. We pretty much had everything we needed. Great memories.
Matt seems a little more chattery, and relaxed since retiring! I like that little boyish grin he has! I really enjoy watching these little talks y’all have.
I’m watching, but my heart is with Granny. Let us know what is appropriate for us to know, how she is. Zinnias were my beloved mothers favorite flower. We lived on a large farm in Va., passed down by generation after generation. Wished I could have known my ancestors. We filled our fire places with golden rod until we started fires. Now those are some steps.💯✔️ Great love story between you two. 🙏 for Granny and the treatment. She’s tough, don’t ever deal her out. Thank you Tipper.
That's going to be SO MUCH better, so nice. Great job Matt! Always impressed. Loved the bouquet for dear Granny, keeping her and all y'all in my prayers. 🙏🏼 💞
I've been to many a pig slaughter and it was a time of celebration and appreciation. To this day, I have a hard time eating the pork products in stores after getting the freshest there was to offer when I was younger. And we always knew who raised our pigs guaranteeing good wholesome pork. I made stewed apples tonight for supper. My grandson got them for me from up around Mt. Airy. He went to the orchard and picked them. He's only 6 so I cherish them all the more. If you have a bumper crop of acorns then there'll be a plenty season of squirrels in the spring. Have a good week my NC garden sister.
Your garden space has come a long way in the last 12 months, Tipper. I remember last Fall, as you looked forward to the 2023 season, you hoped to expand the growing area by eliminating lawn in places. Not only have you done that, you created additional grow space on the slope with those lovely raised beds. And, despite having a challenging summer, your yield was quite good. Another season gone by, as we look forward to the next. Have a wonderful week.
That bouquet is EXQUISITE! And I'm sure those "extra touches" will tell her how much you all love her. I smile when I see how much Matt loves and truly respects Tipper.
The steps look fantastic. That bouquet for Granny is absolutely beautiful. Prayers continued that she will tolerate her treatments well. We say acorns like Matt.
Boy howdy do I appreciate a good functional gift. A gift that can be used well will always remind me of the thoughtful giver. My daddy used to say, "The problem with stuff is you have to find a place to store the stuff, you have to maintain the stuff, you have to remember where you put the stuff and sometimes you just have too much stuff. " Mostly, he was right, but there was certain "stuff" that he sure enjoyed. The simple stuff! I sure do miss him. This time of the year he would randomly send me the most beautiful pictures of colorful trees, always singular in each picture. He sure enjoyed each individual specimen, one at a time. Boy do I miss that. Thank you for the snippet of the beautiful trees.
I’m exactly like you Tipper when it comes to gifts being functional. I’m happier about the cooler weather too. No frost here yet. I’m praying for Granny and will continue to do so. Praying she tolerates it well with the fewest side effects.
I love zinnias i have some outside my dining room window so i can see them all day, i love all your flowers, keeping granny in my prayers. My 85 yr old sister just finished her treatments she's weak but getting stronger day by day and was able to go to church today...❤ from Arkansas
I am 45 but grew up very rural on my grandparents farm ❤❤❤ hog killing time was always very cold weather, I remember my grandpaw and uncles doing up the hog outside while my grandmaw and aunts were working up the meat inside, the old sausage grinder mounted to the counter top, they divided up all the meat and either canned or froze everything. I remember there was always a big meal afterwards of sausage, livermush, rice (cooked with milk and butter), eggs, and loads of biscuits and jelly. We’d all sit down and eat together like it was a holiday or Sunday dinner. My grandpaw loved pig brains scrambled with his eggs, which I cannot imagine eating!! I am absolutely sure sausage and livermush do not taste as good from the store.
Matt, those steps ARE beautiful, because of all the many reasons you built them. They are the very definition of robust, and will be there for a very long time! 💪 Wooden steps are so nice to look at as they weather and nestle into their place. I'm with you, Tipper. Serviceability holds a certain beauty for me, too. Thank you for this offering today. Continued prayers for Granny, with hopes of better days for her REALLY SOON. Peace be with you. 💚
The steps look really nice; well done. Matt is a good craftsman, and so nice that you can do these kind of projects yourself. My Dad enjoyed things like that too. He would say it doesn't look like s/thing you could get in a store but it'll work. Each one of his projects are a treasure to me, now especially since he is gone. Such a beautiful bouquet you made for your Mother in the special pitcher that belonged to your Grandmother, that will surely brighten her day. I do remember her in prayer for success & healing of the treatments and restoring rest for e/one. Enjoy hearing all of your stories, the trees and the colors are really beautiful.
The bouquet is amazingly beautiful 😍!!! Hope granny is doing well and everything went well at the doctors. Still lifting her up in prayer as well as the rest of the family 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 continued blessings for each of you!!! 🦋🦋🦋
Continuing to pray for sweet Granny. Love those beautiful flowers. Zinnias we’re my mom’s favorite flower. I agree with practical, functional gifts. Such a beautiful and peaceful day! God bless y’all. 😀❤️
Matt did an excellent job on the new stairs. He must be happy to be retired so he can spend time on jobs that are important. The bouquet is as lovely as anything you would find at florists shop.
Matt u and Tipper just bring me so much Joy talking about Old Times. My Daddy would Not allow us to see the Hog Slaughter. I loved them. I was so excited when my Daddy allowed me to keep the little Albano Piggie in our house. He was so clean and Never used the Potty in the house. He was such a Joy. He would go to the Door to be let out to Potty and come back in. My life was saddened when one day when I let him out, he Never came back in, found him laying on the front porch dead. I was 12 years old, and I still think about him from time to time. It is Always a Joy watching u all. Matt was meant to do this. Keep Rocking u guys, u r Blessed!
Great job Matt! It is wonderful that you two can work side by side all the time now. I can see how happy this makes Tipper that you are all together. ❤❤. Prayers for Granny. ❤❤
Matt building the steps was really interesting to watch. Impressive! Your bouquet was gorgeous! I'm sure it meant a lot to Granny. So thoughtful of you. ❤
You two look so happy, glad you get to work together now! The fact that Matt can build those steps by visualization without plans is amazing-I love the size of those sturdy planks.
I'm like you, Tipper. I like functional, practical gifts. You are so Blessed to have your family close by to spend time with! Love the steps Matt built. He is so talented.
The step are amazing, Great Job Matt. And Tipper the flowers for Granny are beautiful and how thoughtful to place them in that beautiful vase. She’ll love them.
We just had our granddaughters 11th birthday party here at our home. We are exhausted sitting here looking at each other, wondering when did we get this old 😊 but so worth the noise laughter and, of course, the football games ! Having our family means everything ❤️ ♥️ The steps look great, Matt 👍
Matt looks so much happier working for himself and his family.we are happy he got a deer. We are in West Virginia and went to their church and put Granny's name in their prayer book, we sang songs and worship with these wonderful people ❤️ these people are so grateful and loving to each other.ill be spending two more days here then heading to Eastern Kentucky to deliver more food baskets and clothing, toys and meeting new people. My heart is very happy with Jesus in. My heart. God bless you and your family and I know Jesus has his arms around Granny . Love to you n your family ❤patsy
Praying for you all. Matt, those are beautiful steps. I’ll hire you anytime. Love watching you all. Got your book Tipper and it is so rich. And your love for the Lord so blesses me. God bless. My ancestors go back to the founding of North Carolina. Waggoner is my maiden name. I finally understood my dad’s tastes in food when I started watching your cooking shows. I think God planted my heart in the south. You guys think just like me. God bless you.
Zenias are my mother’s favorite flower! She passed in 79. I was 19. My Dad used to bow hunt as well. Daddy passed in 2020 he was 91. So grateful for your videos! Be made Blissful Everyone! I recently saw these half moon shaped planters for the sides of hills! If I see it again I will share the link! Stairs look great! 🎉
You might think about railing on the steps, as you get older you'll see the wisdom. Continuing to pray for Granny and you're sweet family, so happy fall is here , was life-sucking hot here in Mississippi
Laughter is good for the soul, and I sure have laughed listening to the stories you've shared about the hogs, Steve and the car wash.... As I watch your videos my mind goes back to the days that I enjoyed so much, sharing meals regularly with my in-laws, our children... I'm enjoying watching you and Matt experience it now. It's the sweetest time in life. So many of your ways compare to the life I shared with my loved ones. Enjoy life to the fullest y'all. Praying for you all as always, and we're all blessed! 🤗🙏💕
Nice garden steps , Matt . The flowers and Granny's bouquet are beautiful . Glad to see the autumn colors in the leaves after such a hot summer . Prayers always for Granny and your family . Thanks for a very relaxing video .
You two are so fortunate to have each other. Watching a few of your videos it becomes evident you all are a team. When I was a young person it was common for friends and relatives to go hunting for meat. The population of people in my State has exploded, so hunting has greatly decreased.
Love your beautiful trees and the rustling wind! Since I'm from NC and spent many years in north Georgia, I miss fall. 💔 Now live in Texas with summer and summer-light. Praying for Miss Cindy. God bless you all!🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for sharing. The steps look great. All the beautiful colors of the Fall leaves, I love them! So beautiful there. Having your family close is a true blessing. Praying for Granny.❤️✝️🙏
I marvel at your skills, Matt. Well done. May all our prayers for Granny be answered. Chemo is often so rough, but not always. So, really hoping Granny tolerates it well and that it’s really effective. 🤲🧎♀️
Love your channel Matt and Tipper , it makes me yearn for the old days even though I am only 55 years old. Your girls do an amazing channel as well and the morals and values they have are seriously refreshing in this modern world . My thoughts and best wishes are with you all , especially Granny .
We drove over to Murphy on 64 Friday, one of our favorite drives this time of year. We ate a late lunch at Miss Julie’s restaurant & it was soooo good. We will be going back there for sure. Gonna be a frost here & in Murphy tomorrow/Monday morning til 10. Cool weather is setting in. Great video, awesome steps. Enjoyed visiting as always. Happy Matt got a deer. My 12 year old grandson got his very first deer this morning down in Georgia, an 8 point! Needless to say, his daddy; my son was as excited as my grandson. 😊❤😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
We always had hogs when I was growing up. I remember daddy hanging them up on a frame. Several of his friends would bring their hogs to daddy & help him trim out theirs. I remember daddy putting salted hams in the smokehouse. I always helped mama as she would hand grind the sausage, pat it into patties and put em on parchment paper & fold it over as we made a row, then we'd put the patties in freezer bags and I'd help her carry all the bags to the freezer. I would see sausage in my sleep after that!! Worse than digging taters!! But, my that sausage & gravy & biscuits mama would fix in the winter was so good!! I really miss having a big garden, hogs & cow & chickens. Nothing like being able to live like that & never worry about food when we'd have a big snow!! We're trying to work things out here. My hubby is still not doing well. He developed an ileus and is being treated for that. He's pretty much bed-ridden but therapy does come in & sit him up on the side of the bed and has him do leg exercises while sitting on the bed. I'll be going to his care plan meeting on Tuesday, his 100 days are almost up at rehab so I'm not sure what to expect. I fell again in the kitchen today & no one was home for me to call, but I finally managed to get myself up pulling a chair out from the table. I still can't figure out how I fall using my walker. Course it just rolled away from me & caused a gash thats now a huge bruise on my right arm. Some things I still just don't understand. But I have to continue to put my faith & trust in God and pray He will direct our path. Please keep us in prayer. Praying Granny does well with her treatments and doesn't suffer any sickness. Praying God blesses her with speedy healing & removes all the cancer! Hugs and blessings from VA! ✝️ 💗🫶🙏
Ya are so cute just sitting theere eating a popsicle having a chat. Showing the world whats its like to just slow down and take in the good land and surroundings God gave ya. Bless this family oh lord and that new grandbaby thats on its way. What a hoot ya are gonna have being grandparents.
I really enjoy your videos. The steps look great. Put some rails up. I would be afraid I would hang my foot and fall down the steps. Praying for granny. May God wrap her in his healing arms.
The stairs are beautiful, now all you need is 5 feet of snow ❄️. Where I am snow is coming this week about a few inches. Give a huge to Granny from all of us, ,🙏
My family has always been hunters. My son took up the bow around 9 years old, and he now bow hunts and not only provides for his family but for his mom and dad! He's blessed with the bow!
So cool your husband is so supportive of you and your channel & joins in the fun word games too. You can see too Your girls are truly raised right. It's nice to see a family supportive of each other during these crazy times.

Love your Daddy's perspective 😊
I hope Granny's treatments are going smoothly and that she is feeling better
My husband built a beautiful chicken coop for our 30th wedding anniversary. I couldn't be more pleased.

I think Matt did a real nice job on the steps!! Good job!!!!👍🏻👍🏻
Love the stairs! Here in Pawleys Island, we would call those "Arrogantly Shabby". ❤️🙂👍
😊
I marvel at your skills, Matt. Well done. May all our prayers for Granny be answered. Chemo is often so rough, but not always. So, really hoping Granny tolerates it well and that it’s really effective. 🤲🧎♀️
Very well made stairs. Great design!!! Matt is a man’s man!
Thank you 😀
🙏🏻♥️🙏🏻Praying for Your Beautiful Granny!🛐🛐🛐
Awesome Steps!👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻
Love your channel Matt and Tipper , it makes me yearn for the old days even though I am only 55 years old.
Your girls do an amazing channel as well and the morals and values they have are seriously refreshing in this modern world . My thoughts and best wishes are with you all , especially Granny .
Thank you!
Wonderful!!! Glad you're having a good trip 😊
I loved it when Matt said he didn’t wait long enough to see what it looked like he just started eating it‼️😂😂😂❤️
Steps looks wonderful, match the style of your yard. Couldn't look better.
Continued prayers for. Granny. GOD'S GOT THIS.
Matt’s steps are so neat and beautiful. Great job! Takes a special skill to do that stuff. Wish my husband had that ability 😜
You are so close to a quarter million subscribers! Can't wait to see that milestone. ❤
I can't hardly believe it 😀 Thank you!
Bless you Debbie! I'm still praying for you both!! I admire your outlook!!
