I actually love that room, it is so different to any hotel I have stayed in and I love something different. Standard rooms in most hotel are all the same
It’s very different!
I like the 2d design it's like staying in a comic / graphic novel ....Great novelty value and makes for a memorable stay !!
It was very different!
I love the culture vibes I get from the room vlogs depending on the country of origin. I don't think I have seen any channel do the tremendous amount of work you've done thanks so much for taking me along! It definitely makes me look forward for future seasons of vlogs from theme park worldwide! I wanted to add that the hopscotch grid in the hallway was a reference to The Shining!
Thank you so much!
Only watched around the first five minutes but fully agree it should always be a mix of some self service but also actual employees because having a actual employee there to help when it's your first time is so important. Also I want to say thank you so much! You have given me the courage to finally pull the trigger and book the tickets to go to chessington I'll be going on the 23d of March and I can't wait
That’s great, have fun!
I love the room, it's just so weird n wonderful. Not for everyone, of course.
and the painting of a hotel looks lovely and funny
Its very cute. Reminds me of a day care or kindergarden room . Clean if definitely the key everything else is gravy . The best part is that tv stand Love it ahah
Well done you two, I've watched all your posts on RUclips ,I love your enthusiasm, very informative any park that has nothing to hide should welcome you ,honest unbiast comments,
Keep on riding ,look forward to the next post
Thank you so much!
Lovely hotels and beautiful hotel rooooms really phenomenal here
slight upgrade from the inside pyramid area at fantasy island 😂 brilliant vlog 😄
Shawn and Charlotte,
I think cost was a factor in the décor.
That hotel is very big and retrofitting it to high standards could be
very expensive, however, having an up scale room section would have been nice.
IF the hotel is expensive then it should offer room alternatives.
That's one you will remember:)
Cheers,
Rik
Lovely hotel and room. ❤️
Feels like you're waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too critical with the hotel. More could be done for sure, but it's a cute theme that both kids and adults can appreciate. Those style of beds are common in Asia (Welcome to Asia!!). I think you'll find for this side of the world that this is a solid hotel. Not your cup of tea is fine and all, but overall I think they did well! Hopefully with some more success in the park they can then come back and add more park themes to rooms with further investment.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I’d love to see them invest heavy in this hotel!
I love the room,it different and quirky.
the underneath the bed can withstand lights so a person dont fall and hurt themselves, maybe if you mention that to them, they will add some lights
I'm just surprised that Genting SkyWorlds Hotel didn't theme the rooms using any of the 20th Century Fox IPs. A missed opportunity I would say. Sounds like a fun and immersive concept to be staying in an "Ice age" themed room tbh.
the hotel was refurbished years before the new theme park opened so
@Yumahummus It's very telling, it's clear mismanagement of the resort has led to some questionable decisions however it's got a lot of great potential and it wouldn't take too much to get the hotel back in line witht the overall high quality of the resort.
As for the rides, just get the outside sections of that orange coaster cleaned up while it's under construction and I'm sure plenty more tourists will see they're making an effort to make it a quality resort
Love the hotel tours
Hi shawn and Charlotte this room feels cold to me . But it has its quirky Ness about it . I'm not overkeen but it fits somewhere I just don't think it's there. Thankyou for sharing with us love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
It was quite cold, however it was different!
Hi both lovely hotel I like all the characters in the hotel
Hi guys I love your videos keep it up
Thanks!
I agree with what you said about different themed rooms in accordance to themed areas in the park a bit like Alton towers do 😊😊
Definitely!
Great vlog 👌
Wow that is a strange room . It's definitely interesting looking.
It was very strange!
Let's be honest..all your vlogs are good..but I do still enjoy these travel vlogs most of all..🙂
The bed is how most oriental rooms are all the beds are on the floor. Very nice and different hotel.
Love it
Awesome video
Hi guys strange room lol 😆 not seen anything like that before at least they did not just have a drawing of the bed lol thanks my lovelies see you tomorrow xx
It was the weirdest room we’ve seen!
Wow
That room design is similar to japanese hotels if you choose the traditional ryokans. Basically they set have to roll out the bed every night for you on a bit of a platform. but the main attraction of Ryukans is the nice Hot springs bath. that hotel i'm not sure because its in the mountains of Malaysia and i have never heard of hot springs in Malaysia.
I recognised the Japanese style bed straight away though it does clash quite a bit with the theme, does seem the hotel has realised it needs to update too.
I would have loved to see see the entire room done in a Japanese style if that’s the direction they want to take.
i am a minimalist so that room is definitely my style .... not for everyone of course
The layout isn’t too overwhelming so I understand where you’re coming from however minimalism is also about quiet elegance as it is about neutral colours.
Personally I find the theme concept to be a bit too loud/playful to truly be considered minimalist.
@@ObsessiveGeek ... to each their own 👍
I feel like id get ill being sooo high up in the mountains and sky
Another great vlog! Interesting hotel 🏨 to say the least, lol 😍😍😍🥳❤️🔥🤩😘 xxx
Thanks for watching!
Great vlog
Thanks!
Those trees leaves looks like hidden Mickeys 😀😀😀😀
It looks more like an artsy boutique room.
excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from Genting SkyWorlds Hotel located at Resorts World Genting in Malaysia! In this vlog, we take you for a full tour of this very quirky hotel featuring cartoon theming, located right next door to the awesome Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park. Along with showing you the public areas, we also take you for a full tour around our room! keep the good video's coming on the channel.
I do think this has got to be one of the most strangest hotels, very different 😂 not my type of themeing but its quirky i suppose
The hotel room looks like a nursery room ☺️like how they are trying something different was it expensive 🤔
It wasn’t too expensive
That hotel room looks like something out of zapp TV that use to be citv 🤣🤣🤣🤣 great vlogs Shaun and Charlotte
It was very different!
I wonder if the Fox IP being pulled also hurt the resorts, but hey there's 7 to choose from so something's going to appeal to you. The TV is cute and the lobby is well done, but the room's aren't up to snuff
Possibly so!
The "stage" area is designed for you to take your slippers off before you get onto the "stage" so that you keep the sleeping area clean if you are wondering. I think the hotel definitely looks way too quirky for my liking tho.
Thanks for letting us know!
The room looks like an IKEA exhibition😂
Great Hotel Vlog as always Shawn and Charlotte. Tbh out of all the hotels I’ve seen you stay in, it’s probably the weakest. I’m not saying it’s bad, it just could be improved on a lot more
It wasn’t great, however the location was perfect!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide it for sure wasn’t great but I definitely agree that the location was perfect
Hello Shawn I am earlyyy
Might be some peoples cup of tea but no not for me. Love the location right next to the park and maybe part of the reception but that’s about as far as I would go design wise. Still it’s a place to get your head down and have breakfast. Unusual though.
The location was perfect!
It looks like a nice idea badly executed 😅 There are 2D cartoon cafés in Japan and they look amazing, but this looks like like it's a bit all over the place
I 100% agree, whomever designed this concept should have done more research into how to make the most out of it.
With the Japanese style bed, they could have leaned into origami style design to bring out more adult elegance into the idea rather than having all the rooms look childish.
They could have kept to the cartoon style for the family rooms though refined the layout more.
I would also consider the brand and the natural scenery of the area in the theme, putting birds, fans, umbrellas, mountains, clouds etc into the design.
Definitely wouldn't take too much to redesign to fix these small issues, they just need someone who understands branding/marketing to bring everything in line.
They could also offer some specially themed rooms that use some of the I.P.s in their resort as Shawn mentioned.
The hotel was showing it’s age in certain places. The room wasn’t the greatest, with the bed raised on that plinth. Not too sure that would pass health & safety in the UK. 😂 Definitely too quirky for me but ideally located for the park which seemed to be it’s only plus point.
Definitely!
4:40 trouble is if machines or systems go down, too reliant on tech. Can’t beat human interaction
That’s why they still have attendants on hand to ensure there’s always someone who can process your booking. Too much overthinking over an alternative system to make the process easier with all the discussion surrounding these types of machines.
Having a machine to do your checking in gets rid of a job for someone, so is it progress?
It’s a nice option to have however I still prefer the personal touch!
Theres no door on the bathroom and only a glass door for the toilet and it’s echoing in there. Nooo
Very poor
I like the design of the room but, yeah, I feel like it should be limited to kids rooms
1
You both came across really snobby when commenting on the room!
We’ll always be honest in our videos! The style of this just felt very basic and cheap compared to the theme park next door!
Is there swimming pool there?
Sadly not
Thanks for telling me i am going there is December 😊
What was your best hotel of the trip
Traders in Kuala Lumpur!
Don't rubbish the room too much you 2 🤨🤭. Think of those poor Malaysians that have to maintain over 400 rooms like you said. The room was nice! Also, why worry about drafts and being cold especially when we all know you like to put on a good show. Perfect opportunity with the bed on stage 😉, you could have worked up a sweat and not be cold anymore.
It was very different!
I would not like a room like this. No bedside table. xx
It was very strange!
Your room looks like something out of Dairy of a Wimpy Kid! Not my cup of tea! Great main hotels and location though!
Yes definitely giving me Diary of a Wimpy Kid vibes!
@@CustomiZe_ 😄👍
I don’t like the room at all and i can’t do low down beds like that. The decorations are lazy
Really poor isn’t it. Can’t deal with beds like that. Dangerous too.!
@@IWTBF yeah
It wasn’t our sort of thing!
im really not a fan. if i'm paying good money i want a sense of luxury, not whatever this is supposed to be.
Good God, I'd be asking for my money back and be making arrangements to stay somewhere else! Awful hotel! There again, if you obviously get a feel of what it's like from the hotel website and other online reviews, I wouldn't have booked it in the first place! Research beforehand is the key! The theme parks generally have been a bit 'meh' and totally under-whelming too on this trip. The view per video are not brilliant either. Thankfully though at least I've learnt that I can save money and not bother with any parks in this part of the world. After three weeks of disappointing parks, I'd be so wanting to get home! Have they tried any local cuisine - or just burgers and chips? Dont see any real mention of the local food......!
I think you’re getting a bit too carried away there.
Hardly awful, it’s a quirky theme with curtious staff, everything is clean and seems comfortable enough.
Clearly it has been well researched beforehand so they knew exactly what was in store though they chose it for the location as well as the fact it’s the main hotel for the park.
Didn’t think much of Sunway Lagoon though to be fair from what I can tell it’s much more of a water park (clue is in the name really) with everything else opening up later on in the day so we didn’t really see a good coverage since they we’re focusing much more on the rides side of things.
Skyworld seems absolutely fantastic and like Shawn has said if it was in Florida everyone would be raving about the park, definitely very telling In your narrative “i don’t bother with that side of the world” there’s quite a bit of bias happening.
Shawn and Charlotte are very typically British and don’t experiment with food, fish and chips is very much the standard rather than trying out any local cuisine. I’m the exact opposite, part of travelling to different countries is soaking in all the culture and that’s very much within the food too.
The difference being if I don’t like something it’s not a big deal though I have a much wider taste than most westerner so there’s a greater chance I can find something I will like without needing to resort to visiting a McDonalds for example.
You should try to get out your comfort zone every so often, I’m planning on visiting Japan now it’s reopened and super excited to experience a totally different culture than what I’m used to.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! This hotel wasn’t great, however we have loved this trip exploring 14 brand new parks for us!
