Very good review as usual 👏 👍 👌
Doom 2099 was awesome. I loved the flashback scenes. Vey well written. We see a old ,frail vulnerable Doom. He may have taken on Mephisto or the Beyonder in his youth but he is still human and will get old. The mystery of his current youthful appearance is still a mystery at this point.
The colours or the fire on the last page were awesome. Considering it was regular paper and not a glossy type that Image Comics were doing makes it that bit more impressive.
Btw...the redhead is Fortune and Wire's best friend is Xandra. She is Wakandan (a minor spoiler for you). I love your reviews. I will check out some of your X-Men videos. 👍

Thank you for the names, my brain just decided to forget everything lol. I am biting at the bit to go through the next issue of Doom. Such a well written and artistic book!

Back in the 80's and 90's it was cool being a comic fan because we knew comics were actually awesome, while the rest of the world assumed they were silly kids' fare. I think part of the reason so many creators of that era made such great comics is because they were trying hard to validate themselves to a world that saw comics as the insignificant ugly red-headed stepchild of culture.
Today it's the opposite. Everyone is pretending to be a trendy mainstream comic fan because of the movies, shows, and popularization of "geek culture." Yet meanwhile, the actual comics have reverted to the throw-away garbage that the normies always assumed they were.

That's why the OG Marvel G.I. Joe and Transformers comics were amazing. Comics based on cartoons/toy lines were considered for losers in the bullpin. Bob Budiansky and Larry Hama put that to rest quickly!
I agree though that popculture is mainstreamed, comics are where they've always been, at the bottom of the barrel. I'm ok with that, means we get to enjoy the richness of the stories while everyone chases the next "big thing" *blarg lol

@@ChrisMacPresents It's like a few years ago, when some creators were parroting that stupid phrase, "Comics are for everyone!"
No, comics are for people who like them and are willing to pay money for them. That's not "everyone."

That's why there are a variety of comics and Mangas ao people can enjoy different themes and genres without having to radically change a character like the main same Spider-Man title and break the character. Yet modern creators want to make each book a Tumblr Comic strip
