The first one was lowkey cleaner and will still get off but the second one was more effective💪🏾
True the first could definitely get you called for a travel if you don't sell the cross over effectively. And get a travel call.
The first one was a carry
It’s not even the cross that get people, it’s the hop. It’s so universal. Beat move you can do besides make the bucket imo.
And the fact that he is coming at you downhill. At that point the offensive player is the aggressor
That hop is what makes it predictable imo.

The footwork is arguably the most important part of the crossover. Plant is vital to selling it
There's no argument. The shxx comes natural to ones who create it. Then goofies come around and try to explain what they're seeing with their eyes, and they still don't get it.
Footwork is the foundation to all ball handling.
Making sure you make it seem like your not traveling when you are is the challenge

Just say you don't understand the rules of basketball. Straight from the rule book
Rule no. 10 section II part d - A player who is dribbling may not put any part of his hand under the ball and (1) carry it from one point to another or (2) bring it to a pause and then continue to dribble again.
Hand MUST be under the basketball, not on the side or behind, but under the basketball.

yessir footwork is key. I wasn't tall enough or athletic enough but if you ask those who knew me, my skills were crazy. 16 yr old me is smiling, knowing how valid this video is.

Growing up we didn't need this.. except to focus on our technique at times. We just went out and practice it after watching.. now it's routines into a shot, or into a hezi then drive layup

So many people calling this a carry its not. He lifted the ball to show you the path you're taking. If you're in full motion the ball won't get scooped up. This is a clean move but it's definitely a move that can cause a person to carry.

Idk thats how you'd get picked when i was coming up. You better make sure the defender bites on that long exxagerated over comitted cross bc a defender like me will get those cookies every time. Gotta be quicker and stay lower to the ground and dont take such a huge step up on the cross or that ball is practically asking to get picked off.
