I met that song in my teenage, when being on high school, what a wonderful song, the thing is i'm 18 so i'll always feel nostalgic when i listen to this music
Unbelievable talent here performing this 50's classic. Gary Paxton producer and the same Skip Battin that played bass for the Byrds and tripped out on Eastern Meditation and chants performing here! What a transformation. May they rest in God's peace.
Always thought it was funny to see Skip here all clean cut, then a decade later in the Byrds and the new riders with a beard and long hair. Doesn’t even look like the same guy. Rest In Peace to them both.
What VERY rare footage and thanks for sharing! I was only 6 at the time and not into rock and roll music yet. These guys also had another BIG hit with "Cherry Pie."
I was 13 years old when I first heard this song. Such a great year 1959. This was the beginning of my teenage years. I will always remember going thru my teenage years. The 50's and 60's were the best years for me. I may be a senior citizen now but I still love to dance to my 50's and 60's music 🎶. Rock and Roll will never die.
I remember when Lindsey Buckingham did a cover of this. This is the wonderful original but I'm surprised how close Lindsey stayed to the original rhythm and orchestration.
Gary Flip Paxton and Clyde Skip Battin the famous duo of Skip & Flip in the late 1950's early 1960's they met at the University of Arizona back in the day. Gary Paxton would go on to form the Hollywood Argyles along with Kim Fowley in 1960 and had a one hit wonder with Alley Oop in 1960. Gary Paxton would have his own record label called Gar-Pax and the first hit single was Monster Mash by Bobby Boris Pickett in circa 1963/1964
This has always been one of my favorite forgotten hits from back in they day and shows how talented both of them were considering how long they both were successful for years after on different projects
One of the best songs of the 1950s
I remember hearing this song when I was younger. Now that I'm older it's still one of my favorites. Such a great song.

Es increible pensar que en unos pocos años Skip se convertiría em un hippie con cabello largo y barba en The Byrds.
Thank you for the video and the comments.
Lindsay buckingham covered it years later
Cover by Lindsay from Fleetwood Mac
Lindsey's cover of this is great too
😃👏🏻👏🏻👍🏼
Are they still here with us?
Would you happen to have any footage of the Clara Ward Gospel Singers?
Which is which?
Don't believe them because..........It was I!
