Gohan struggles to land a hit at first due to never getting a chance to really push himself against a worthy foe and UI Goku being a lot more slippery than Orange Piccolo he's presumably sparred with despite OP and UIGoku having relative power.
But as the fight goes on Gohan's movements get sharper and he completely overwhelms Goku

He’d realistically be around ultimate Gohan (serious) at best but not on the level of everyone’s trump card forms
I like how it seems Gohans "Study hair" is his base hair now so its easier to differentiate from when hes using Ultimate.
Plus in the coloured manga, it gives goku, vegeta, bardock and gohan a yellow aura in base, meaning when gohan fought 73 in round 1 he was in base, so that’s another future indicator (unless ultimate also has a yellow color)
Its rare to see Goku immediately go all out against someone, especially in just a sparring match, but I appreciate this. I guess Toyo forgot to draw Beast Gohan's pupils, but its all good. I'm still excited
I actually think it was on purpose. I think that Gohan only had the black and red eyes when he was furious. This is likely Beast without the rage.

You know a small detail I absolutely LOVE about this chapter? Gohan is smiling in pretty much every panel he’s in. He’s enjoying fighting. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but I’m hoping, praying even, that this is a sign that we can continue to expect greatness
He likes training. He will fight if necessary but he doesn't like killing people.

I do not understand why Toei didn’t spent the last 6 years on continuing the Super anime. The amount of interesting sagas, forms and fights are just mind boggling. Why would they leave all that money on the table when the whole world is literally ready for the new arcs. Every new Dragon Ball Super moment would dominate social media with ease.

more than likely Toriyama hasn't been in good health and is taking longer to give them outlines and story. So they are probably affraid to restart the anime and run into a dead end where the anime catches up to the manga with no new story to expand on.

*EDIT:* It's also entirely possible that the OG SSG just wasn't strong enough to survive retaining the power. Goten and trunks are more than a thousand times more powerful than say for example King Vegeta.

As for teaching them how to do it I think because of how goku learns things it would be difficult for him to teach people how to do it the fusion dance was different because he was told how to do it

It looks like beast is ultimate gohan × ss3. Hence the abnormal hair length but still standing up.
So either Toyo forgot Beast had pupils after literally drawing it last chapter or this is not Beast at full power? Gohan's hair also looks a little shorter than before. Maybe this is just a slight redesign after everyone complained about the hair being too long? But then why would he drop drawing Beast with pupils? idk man... Beast Omen/Sign maybe??

Dragon Ball version of the Legion of Doom if they try to assimilate the RR with the Frieza Force. Especially since they don't have much funding left on Earth. But the dillemma would be what would they bring to Frieza, but this could be it if they focus on Beerus & Whis more for intel. They probably have some type of device already on them that's been following their moves, that Carmine is even unaware about. There's always SOMEBODY watching everything & never introduced until we see them (I.E. DR GERO). A device Similar to the prototype that tracked everything in Z to gather data. The more they talk about Black Frieza & how strong he is in this setting or even the god hierarchy like the Omni King, Grand Minister etc., the more info they're spilling out to make the RR curious to expand to space for resources.

I love how gohans potential was unlocked but they never said his rage was unlocked and now he harnessed that power. If you look closely you can see that Gohans eyes in Beast are missing the black pupils. I also think that his hair is a bit shorter now. So maybe since he is not angry this form is not at full-power?

This needs to lead to a Planet Sadala Arc. After the Goku vs Gohan fight Cabba pulls up to Beerus planet with Vados and Champa asking Vegeta and the saiyans to help with the Sadala conflict. So much lore with a Kale and Caulifla reunion, double fusion with Kefla and a perfect Gotenks, the King of Sadala facing ultra ego Vegeta, Kale and Broly both going berserk, the list goes on ‼️

Gohan has never struggled when fighting Goten so no. Especially not in Z only time they fight is when they spar and Gohan dominated even while holding back

Gohan going from temporarily suprassing Radizt to having power that rivals some God of destructions and surpassing some others. Gohan has really come a long way.
