  • Here's a few links for my favorite credit cards. I try to check the links often, but let me know if there is a problem. If they change the offer on the card, I may need to update the link. Full disclosure, I get a few airline miles for referring a new customer. You should get the same public offer at no additional cost. Thank you very much.

    Barrio was my hangout from 81 - 84 whenever my ship would pull in to Subic. Had a gal from a bar called the Buzzard that I would hook up with that took good care of me.

    Man its a bit sad to see how so much has changed since I used to frequent Barrio Barretto 30 yrs or so ago.....but it's nice that there appears to be modernization. D'Riders was our main stop out there when in port I'm sure it's long gone.....back then I don't remember many if any streetlights, but lots of little fires up and down the dirt road and music playing from the bars, the smell of meat cooking and of course all the cuties......little slice of paradise from 86 to 90.....thanks for the update!

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, everything has changed in 30 years. Not just in the PI. San Diego has really changed. Thanks for watching.

    Caught your Olongapo and Barrio video. Thanks for bring back the memories. It sure has changed. I was off the Midway back in 84-87. The Barrio was just a dirt road and I had a run in with the cops one time LOL. But I would go further out. There was one place past the Barrio and I cannot remember the name. But it was peaceful. Loved my time there.

      Yes, this was just a fast look around. I live in Bangkok. Go on over and take a look. You only live once. I landed on the Midway in 1985 as a passenger on an CH-48 a few times. Good times

    Wow, has the Barrio and Subic City grown up. Station Dito at Cubi Pt. 76-78 Barrio was my hang out. Numerous stops on several boats and even evacuated the Clark and Subic bay families when Mt Pinnatubo blew. Things have developed exponentially. Thanks for trip down memory lane.

    Thank you, I didn't stop much in the Barrio but the next town we called subic city which Is called something else , the sweet 16 bar and Marilyn's and many others is all old and some abandoned blgs, I took a trike to there and back when I visited in 2018 not the same as 1981 and 84 on my 2 west pacs, great fun and good people but at 19 I was a lil crazy, im glad I went but glad I'm different now ?..cuz the people deserve that, good times

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat  Год назад +1

      That stinks. Did you try this trick. Check SFO nonstop to Hong Kong. Then book a $200 Air Asia rt to Bangkok. When you add that flight from Tokyo, Hong Kong or Manila often times the price doubles. I just flew round-trip to Manila for $200. Maybe Sfo to Manila is on sale

    • @EagerExpat
      @EagerExpat  Год назад +1

      I just took a 5 minute look on google flights. Long flight in coach, but SFO to Singapore is 16.5 hours. $1454 on United 6/22 returning 6/29. Air Asia is $132 roundtrip to Bangkok. $1586 total. I know that's only a week, but play around on Google Flights. Or you can fly the other way SFO to Germany to BKK. May 31 to June 15. $1370 on Lufthansa. Best of luck
