Captain Falcon being in Super Smash Bros always seemed weird to me because all the other characters were lighthearted and cartoonish, and he was just this powerful muscular adult man who was there to beat the fuck out of everyone without pulling any punches. It was like that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer takes a karate class with children. EVery time I played Captain Falcon I felt like I was beating up whimsical children who just wanted to have fun but I took it way too seriously and traumatized them. Needless to say I always played Captain Falcon.
He was more included due to ease of programming. When Smash Bros was in development they used generic muscle guys as placeholders before they settled on Nintendo characters. They were however under quite tight time contraints so they took the models and animations of the placeholders, improved them a bit and put a Falcon texture on them.
As an avid F-Zero fan, I know a lot about the backstory of some of the characters, so I’ll go In racer machine number order 1. Mighty gazelle: a survivor of the big finale accident that resulted in F-Zero being banned. 2. Jody summers, a rookie pilot from the galactic federation. 3. Dr. Stewart, a surgeon who entered to honor his recently deceased father 4. Bada, another rookie pilot. 5. Samurai Goroh, a bounty hunter who sees Falcon as his rival, also leads a gang of space pirates in red canyon. 6: Pico, a hitman who caused the horrific grand finale 7: Captain falcon, no introduction 8: octoman, an alien who’s species is at war with the Galactic federation 9: Mr. EAD, an Android made by the organization EAD, entered to test out his programming, 10: James McCloud. Biorex is my favorite too. Dinosaur man has the best vehicle in the game imo. I love all the other characters too, though. They’re all so 90’s I love it. And I’m not into anime, but I did watch the F-Zero Falcon Densetsu on RUclips and thought it was awesome. It focuses less on Cpt. Falcon and more on a new, original character and his story line, but all the other characters from F-Zero guests star in their own episodes and while there is exciting races to be had, there’s also crime and mysteries to be solved. If you’re interested, it’s on RUclips and there are English subtitles.
I loved Death Race. The Main Game is great, no question but Death Race always felt like a fun minigame to me and I was a little bit disapointed that they didn't include it in F Zero GX.
F-Zero is a fantastic series as a whole. Another great racing game is Rally Sport Racing for the original Xbox, I remember spending hours on that as a kid. Should check it out again and see how it holds up.
Does anyone know if F-Zero X (main game cartridge) utilizes Expansion Pack when hooked to 64DD with the Expansion kit of the F - Zero? If it does, will it offer hi-rez or texture benefits, color dept, or perhaps some other improvements, like better drawing distance.
@@mielthesquid6536 Now that i've played 64DD-version, it in fact does improve F-Zero X. Framerate is rock solid and stable on all tracks. Also, music is improved and there is more of it. -I'm talking here about when you play regular F-Zero X tracks directly from 64DD, not from cartridge.
F zero really needs to make a comeback.

Lol if they hadnt put him in Smash Bros, i think the "Falcon Punch" Meme would had never existed.

Death Race does its job letting you practice killing opponents, but the Practice mode makes it feel redundant.
Great game, hope Nintendo release the 64DD version on the VC...
You and me both.
mmm, i love F Zero! Great job and happy new year!

Are you still going to review F-Zero GX at some point?
Yeah. F-Zero GX needs all the love it can get.
Hey, recently subscribed, keep the good work man :)
Reminds me of Wipeout :D
Can you review prince of persia sands of time

No, sadly, it doesn't

I had a n64 but never owned this game.
I did however own a similar game for the n64 called Extreme G which I loved playing.
I played both. F-Zero X is much better.
Extreme G was trash. Try this.
Extreme G is a good racing game and so was Extreme G2. That said, Wipeout 64 and F-Zero X are the best racing games on the N64.
Could you review F-Zero GX? It’s even better than X.
