  • How to cut a large circular hole in tiles using an angle grinder. No need for a diamond hole saw using this method. Purchasing a diamond hole saw to cut a large hole in the tile is expensive. One 4 inch diamond hole saw can cost in excess of $100. For the same price you can purchase a new angle grinder and diamond blade which you can use for multiple applications. The first cut is the most important, one the initial cut or scoring has been completed you want to avoid cutting close the the exposed surface. This is why i prefer to cut a second time in the hole away from the cut lie and then finish it off from the bottom of the tile. I don’t plan on cutting tiles at any stage but I do watch these videos with interest. Good work Bill.

    Thanks buddy!
I watched several videos before yours and really...they didn’t help at all. Using the grinder at an angle, and making the second pass a bit inside is the key. It was great to find a guy who really knows what he is doing! Thanks!

time is money...if you have to do multiple cuts day in day out invest in the hole saw. However still a relevant method for diy one time scenario.

Lol I find wearing gloves to be more of a hazard when using the angle grinder👍

Very nice workmanship and clean cut however hole is too big. You just measured it wrong with a pencil at the begining.

Cut the large part of the flange.
Wondering if you can use a cutting wheel or do you need a diamond tip wheel?
      Nice video!

I've done the grinder method a few times and found it took a long time and makes tons of dust, I decided to just get a 7" diamond hole saw. It works great, check it out: ruclips.net/video/1BOV2EkkymY/видео.html
